You wait until you have to put up with the Scotties .
Remarkably serious , self important and missing an obvious sense of humour .
    The accolade , " Dour " ( boring) , was arrived at from experience , I guess .

Perhaps as good citizens they will pay their respects to our remarkable Queen --- an example of Monarchy at its most productive --- in this Diamond Jubilee year .
God Save Her Majesty --- Queen Bess the Second .

...whose Mother was Scottish. And who spends as much time as she possibly can, in Balmoral in Scotland.

It's embarrassing. Which is why Scottish people go quiet and serious when certain nationalities are making too much noise. Better not to encourage it and hope it goes away.

Well actually, her mother was born in London and the Queen prefers Windsor Castle to any of her other homes, but what does that matter? It's not a competition.

Perhaps you'd like to respond to my post?

If I'd like to, I would.

The location of her birth is not known except to you, but she was born into Scottish nobility and her preferred family home was Glamis. The Queen spends as much of her time up here as is humanly possible without having to listen to whining non-Scots complaining about it, as they did with old Vic.

As to what it matters, ask Raymondo. He's like the toothache with anti-everyone comments (I notice it's not confined to anti-Scots).

Independence is a minority point of view - here amongst us Scottish people. Its just that those minority are loud-mouths. Looking forward to the neverendum when we the majority can shut them up for another couple of generations.

Lets just hope WestMinster ensures its just a Yes/No vote when us Scots eventually get a vote on the matter instead of any sneeky snp wish to split our majority opposition to this lunacy on splitting from the UK.

    Why wouldn't you like to?

    oh my god...

It's a well known fact the Queen Mother was born in London. Her mother was Cecilia Cavendish-Bentinck.

As for Queen Victoria, her favourite place was Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. If you've ever paid it a visit, you'll know why. It's beautiful.

I've noticed, but why does it matter to you? It obviously does.

Why do you not want to answer my points? The only people who live in Scotland that I know personally don't want independence, because they believe it would be bad thing for Scotland.

I'd like to hear the views of a person who believes it would be a good thing for Scotland without all the Braveheart rhetoric. Proper reasons.

I'd like to, for instance, who will be paying for the referendum?

As an Englishman I say, so long as the West Lothian Question remains unanswered, it is not lunacy.

Devolution is a binary issue, either devolve, or remove your Scotish Parliament (and NI and Wales).

I cannot stand this hybred state that we have at this moment.

    FIRST :--
So often that simply shows that like minded people tend to form their own groups or mini tribes , often without seeing how insulated they have become to the more general world .
You come across as a very "serious" person and that you would only "know" equally "serious" and like minded persons --- Club Badge , please!!
I do not presume to think that I know you -- I am just surmising .

    SECOND
I will fund it personally if it means we can move on to more entertaining matters .

You missed the point, which is you're not the boss of me :-D

Yes and that's why you needed a crowbar to get her out of Scotland and Mr Brown out of her (company:omg:). Regarding QM, if my parents happened to be out of the country when I was born, I'm Scottish or dual at best. Scottish nobility, not English.

Ok with you if, when you are having a discussion you're interested in, I start posting anti-English nonsense (assuming you're English), or anti-Diamond nonsense (what are blood diamonds all about and why are you associated with them) deliberately intended to do nothing but irritate and disrupt like that twit at school who was perpetually removed from the class? What makes people think others have to put up with that? We don't.

I haven't read most of them. It's a big forum and if I'm tired, I only post in the fun forum and read one or two posts on the board and respond, but I'm only in for maybe an hour at a time.

Do they live in England or Scotland? If it's England, who cares what the think? They won't be voting.

What has "who will be paying for the referendum" got to do with why it would be a good thing for Scotland to return to independence?

I'll pay for it from my own pocket, if it gets rid of the union. Eh Ray.

The thing is, you won't get much from Scots who want out of the union, because they have already shut the shop with regard to communication. They've already moved on in their minds and are impatient to get on with it. It's a given no English person can be expected to grasp this from our perspective. Nothing we say will make sense to an English person. And as most are incredulous and only baiting with the hope of bashing, what is the point of entering into that conversation?

Firstly, I did not say what you quoted me as saying above.

Secondly, I'm a female Billy Connolly - to the good guys.

Thirdly, I can count to three.

Finally, stop insulting people and move on to anything you want free of charge. If you want to keep on with the pointless baiting of innocent Scottish people, you'll get tired of this before I will. And Remember!, Scots have very long memories, as Tories will tell you.

I have no intention of being your boss, but I would still like to know.

    You're British.

I have to put up with it from you!

You had enough time to create this topic. You could at least try to participate properly.

Then why the hell start this topic?

If I, as a tax payer, am paying for it, then I want to know.

    I hope I'm bloody not.

    Rather you than me.

Right Got it. You don't have any real reasons for wanting independence.

You've just watched Braveheart too many times. Got it.

Good news about the counting .
It moves you immediately into the top 4% . Adult Education was good for you .

What you hear as insults is actually just good advice . Work hard on those Anger Management issues and even you will see how visionary, The Cameron , is .
The Millennium is before us --- Coloured Blue .

A great start to the millennium ...... Torture and collusion in torture!

Prisoners murdered by British forces......even the RAF is getting in on the act!

    Rendition!

Oooh...and lying to the "British people" (I however don't consider myself anything other than Scots) 4 million Iraqis dead in the food for oil programme....aye.... a great start to the Mellinnium!
Ooooh... we wont talk of the deceit and lies regarding the illegal war in Iraq...or Afghanistan! The depleted uranium used on the civilians of both the afore mentioned nations!

Your forefathers fought against fascism, that which eats the very sole of the English nation...something your lot have no inkling...perhaps its the tory educational cuts!
Ian Duncan Smith was removed from office by one....just one man!
So much for the English democracy... a fallacy....the rule of law given away by greed!

The advice...... just prune juice from those less informed of the situation in Scotland!!

    Roll on 2014!

    Regards
    Highlander

Seek independence for Scotland as soon as possible.
    Then leave the EU.

If you want to preserve your national identity you would be advised to keep out the waves of asylum seekers that have already flooded into England. Because there really is not much point in separating from the UK if your country will end up as a mix ethnically and culturally identical to that in the south within a 100 years, much like many quarters of London are today.

That's a very bad reason to vote for independence because that sort of racist nonsense is not part of the agenda.

"Struggle"? Oh yes they are facing oppression from the brutal government of David Cameron! This is absurd! What good will it do Scotland to break from the Union? Rubbish

Let them go and "do their thing" if that is what the majority want .
Your attitude reminds me of the control freak and some parents who cannot let their youngsters fly the nest . Let them find out the hard way .
If things fail, let's hope we are magnanimous .
But hope they become better neighbours ,if they prosper .

And you my friend can look after those parasites feeding off the Scottish nation!

Never again will you need to give us your charity!

Never again will your ever need to look into the Barnet formula!

Never again will you need to tell us what we're doing wrong!

Never again will you need to give us thousands of civil servants!

Never again will we be dragged into illegal wars!

We can look after our own!

That's what good it will do us!

Mmmm......ever the bridesmaid never the bride!

We can do nothing else but prosper!

But easy it will not be...everything has been stole or sold off.....just like England!

No hands in our pockets now!

Pity your lot will have more of the same parasites as we get rid of ours, South of the border!!!

    Roll on 2014!

If, after Bliar, you are still ready to be fooled by a flabby con-man, what hope is there for you? Seek treatment.

I always respect a foreigner who tries to handle a second language .
    So well done .
But I regret to inform you that Fatty John Prescott left a long time ago and he actually belonged to the Bliar gang .
    Nevertheless , a good effort .
