This isn't a poll about whether NASA should or should not be funded. Just vote as if they are going to be funded, and going to be focusing resources somewhere.
When Obama is gone from DC, NASA will reemerge. Until then, why discuss something that won't happen currently?
I'd like to see a more Earthly mission..Mapping the deepest depths of the sea..scientific testing for farming on the ocean,Mineral and energy development from tidal flow..Communication with intelligent life forms.. Unless or until we can better understand what we have here on EARTH..how can we possibly understand what we may find on other planets ?
If money were not object, and that is sort of the point of this mind-game- of course Mars. But really before Mars we would need at least a better space statoin, and probably a moon base....but Mars....only thing I have ever agreed with Newt on.
Uranus! What happened to the optimistic Gw Bush junior Nasa Mars project? Have the bases on the moon been built already?
Actually jor, under security or defense of the Nation and our interest, it dominates the Constitution. I'm not pleased we now need the Russian's just to supply the Space Station. Thread; Under other, I'd like to see many issues explored, especially under robotics as we plan and tackle that trip to mars.
NASA does not help our security or defense... Don't get me wrong, I like NASA, but it is unconstitutional.
The next American in space will be a hitch hiker. The days of the American civilian manned space program are over.
All their research should be directed at creating or discovering an alternative fuel source that will take the threat/dependency out of the middle east for good. Unfortunately corporatism/cronyism and the best government corporate money can buy hasn't had their eye on the big picture for over 40 years, and are hell-bent on destroying the USA, not making it stronger as a whole!!!
Assuming manned missions: the Moon, and this time to stay. We are lucky to have such a neat satellite right outside our porch, and an international base on the Moon should have been established long ago. Mars would be really neat, but not realistic as far as money is considered. Even if Mars could be somehow funded, for the same money it is still a choice between a single flag and footprints Mars mission decades in the future versus a permanently manned little city on the Moon with initial base possible before 2025.
Thanks again. Feel free to help whenever you can. I'll reciprocate when the opportunity presents itself.
I agree completely. I voted for the moon also. Once we have a base there, we can use it a stepping stone for other places in and outside of the solar system.
continue Mars missions but we need to be going to places Titan and Europa. Lot's of potential for good science, and who knows maybe the possibility of life.
