Because belief isn't enough it has to be reasonable. Some people believe that they are Jesus. That doesn't make it reasonable.

You claimed nobody said T should have run away. I can't even begin to count how many times that has been said on this board alone.

Are you really claiming that 17 y/o Martin, who was being followed in the dark by the plain clothed and armed adult George Zimmerman, had no reason to feel fear for his safety?? I sure hope not.

Thats an opinion some people have but no one is claiming he did not have the right to stand his ground and that was the comparison made to Zimmerman having the right.

This makes no sense at all. Everyone is granted the right to self defense.

Yep that is what they are saying. I guess if you want someone dead in Florida just start some (*)(*)(*)(*) with them and then when they retaliate shoot them and cry self defense. Opens up a nice loophole to get away with offing someone. Or maybe some just don't believe a black kid has the right to walk home without being messed with by some wimp over compensating with a gun.

Reasonable fear of imminent harm? No. If you have no reasonable fear of imminent harm requirement to retreat still applies.

Windigo claimed there are ONLY two ways Z got a bloody head: the wet ground or concrete sidewalk. Next time, try learning the Congo before making dumb responses.

When two people are fighting, only one can legally claim self defense. When Z got out of his vehicle to chase T after T ran AWAY from him Z lost the legal right to claim self defense and that is one reason he was charged with M2 and not manslaughter.

He obviously didn't know Z was armed or he wouldn't have attacked him.

And how long would it have taken police to get there?

We already know Z called even before he started to follow T and police got there after T was already dead. Also, blacks as a rule fear cops and tend to avoid them as much as possible. given that T has not had the most perfect histoory, that would only make him more fearful of contacting the cops.

I'm sure if he knew Z was a psycho with a 9mm he would have called 911.

And what if you aren't really being followed?

I have a nice anecdote on that. I'm a physically imposing man. When I was a college ball player I was much more so. I was often mistaken for being a biker for some reason, probably the long hair. One night after leaving a bar in a very ritzy suburb I was walking back to my car and this couple was a few paces ahead of me. I heard the man say 'just keep your eyes forward and keep walking'. They thought I was following them with the intent to do harm.

Now were they justified under a stand your ground to turn around and shoot me???

Hell no! I wasn't threatening them with immediate harm and their fear wasn't (*)(*)(*)(*)ing reasonable. Stand your ground isn't vague. Unless the threat is reasonable and imminent you are still required to retreat. Its only dumb(*)(*)(*)(*)s on forums who are absolutely clueless or so biased that they read into the law what they want so see than what it actually says!

Well since that is a rule how do you explain black cops? Does a black cops family avoid him? I mean its a "rule"

I'm not dancing. What I said was no one claimed that and I was right. No one has claimed T did not have the right to stand your ground which is what the comparison was. Go back and try actually reading the comparison.

    Keep lying.

I am sure you know much more than most lawyers that are scratching their heads over the charge since most do not believe it applies.

We know for a fact Z was following T so your imposing fantasies are a joke.
