http://www.politicususa.com/rise-left-rachel-maddow-lawrence-odonnnell-beat-fox-entire-week.html

So.. Maddow and Lawrence topped their respective Fox shows for a week or so straight. Granted this only means a different blowhard on a different network is getting some attention, but I see some relevance considering how often posters on this site have constantly given Fox News more credence than MSNBC, when both sides are pretty slanted towards their own political views.

Calling Fox News Fair and Balanced has got to be the biggest joke in broadcasting to date. At least MSNBC is honest enough to admit that they are slanted in their advertising, instead of the complete and utter lie that Fox likes to make that they are the only honest source for news. If Fox were to just come out and be straight, that they are in the bag for Republicans/Conservatives in general I'd be a bit more respectful of them, instead of that Fair and Balanced line they love to push.

Megan Kelly is one of the first to seem to take a real journalistic point of view when she called out Rove, and the Math that Republicans do to make themselves feel better comment. When the BS machine gets so overflowing that even a Fox person has to call out the fount of said BS, then we're starting to see some balance.

Oh, and yeah it will take more than a week to see if this holds, but I think that many people were dismayed at how wrong Fox News got the election that they are starting to question exactly how accurate their news source really is on a whole range of topics now. Maybe a few people just stopped drinking the Fox News Kool-Aid.

Most watched doesn't mean most accurate, whichever partisan news channel you support.

They watch cable news for the latest propaganda, and suck it up like a dry sponge.

You think that by telling the truth that Fox is on the Republican side because MSNBC lies for the liberal horde. Republicans are more likely to tell the truth so they just happen to line up better with Fox News. Three fourths of the liberal horde know that MSNBC is lying just like they know that BH Obama is lying but they appreciate liars and support them.

By your posting is lie thread we can see that I'm right.

Actually, this isn't true. FOX is infamous for lying. Death Panels. Welfare work requirements. DREAM being an amnesty proposal. Soldier's votes being suppressed in Ohio. Oh, and study after study has shown Fox News viewers to be consistently more misinformed than viewers of almost any other major network.

Totally agree. . .although, as it was mentioned before, at least MSNBC doesn't PRETEND to be "fair and balanced!"
That's a complete Fox News lie (another one!)

And, when MSNBC makes a mistake (whether or not it is intended. . .who can tell?) they CORRECT and APOLOGIZE for the mistake.

    Not Fox News!

No, no, mostly no,, and no!

As for what this says about you, refer to the part of my post you snipped. I guess those studies were fakes as well.

I guess you don't know what a "demo" is. It's the highly prized viewers that set marketing rates and make the network, and most of all - the advertisors - money.

MSNBC has by far the greater numbers.

Eevry now and then someone says something that keeps you from knowing where to begin, and unwinding it would take so much time you just kind of sigh.

This is one of those statements

    BullCrap !!

Just cause some left handed clown makes a website, and titles it politifact, doesnt make it a fact.

Heres Paul "lets create a housing bubble" Krugman telling you death panels do exist, and a politician appointed clown will deny you coverage even though youre forced to pay.

Heres congress telling you obama and pals are waiving the work requirements for welfare.

Heres Obama on MSNBC enacting Amnesty for illegal aliens.

Targeting an audience is about prejudices/discrimination, commonality, special interests, and psychology. For the most part very little to do with actual truth, and more about appeasing, pleasure, and comfort.

And really, do you think your private insurance doesn't do the same thing? That they don't limit what procedures they will and won't cover? The advisory boards were designed to keep a lid on questionable procedures and treatments that are not proven to work. Republicans are up in arms over the concept that a national health care system wouldn't pay for every batty treatment that might be proposed.

Well I ask you, what private health care plan will cover any and all treatments and procedures no questions asked? Tell me just one that wouldn't put a cap on experimental treatments, because I have yet to find one.

They are not death panels, and Krugman did not call them a death panel, so you just lied sir.And really, do you think your private insurance doesn't do the same thing? Right right, Senator Orin Hatch, Republican complaining about Obama giving the states the freedom to modify their welfare programs. This wasn't congress as a whole, but a Republican huckster ginning up the lie. Want to try again?

I'll go as far as calling this mostly true, you can consider what Obama did as amnesty for a portion of the Illegal immigrants in America. I still favor it, we're not going to be able to just put a padlock on the border, it's as much a failed policy as the war on drugs, better to have a path to citizenship and integrate these people into our society than to attempt to waste resources deporting the same person multiple times.

Well I started watching MSNBC just to see how they were gloating. There is no doubt in the world Fox is slanted in their commentaries. They are strictly Right. But in their news, I think in most ways they are fair. Much so than others that will skip, or refuse to dig into the important stories like Libya. If Fox is wrong, they will have egg all over their face, but at least they aren't ignoring it.

You say tomato (advisory board) he says tomauto (death panel), and you have both convinced yourselves you are right, no matter what anybody else says, ignoring the partisan bias, talking points, and the leaning propaganda, which pollutes the entire discussion from the get-go.
