Hagel said Shrub Jr. was the worst POTUS since Herbert Hover. That statement is the most honest thing anyone in Washington has ever said, and the cons only prove him right by filibustering his conformation as Secretary of Defense. Don't ya just love it when the cons act like spoiled little children that have no business running this country? http://thinkprogress.org/security/2013/02/14/1598341/mcain-hagel-iraq/?mobile=nc
McCain put it in this perspective, when hagel was a republican he relentlessly bashed publically every single thing Bush did, he also claimed the surge in iraq was the worst thing since viet nam and we know now that hagel was wrong. Mc Cain further stated that "You can disagree, as long as you dont become disagreeable" Hagel made his own bed as far as im concerned. I remember his being overbearing in his attacks on bush. It seemed he was basking in his 15 minutes of limelight and playing the violin for his small constituency. He will get appointed, but they want him to swallow some of the crow he tossed at them in 2007. Whats good for the goose, you know the rest
The only other honest statement I have heard from the GOP is when ole Karl Rove said" We need to find better candidates" I was watching an old movie last night about Abe Lincoln (with a very young Ruth Gordan, playing Mary Todd Lincoln). Abe kept talking about his liberal points of view, throughout the movie. My,how times have changed, the GOP started out as the liberals & now have moved to the extreme of the extreme right
Huh? Americans are supposed to ignore Hagel's refusal to cough up the details on his overseas ties, and we're supposed to pretend this about something he said that most people, including myself, don't remember and don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about???? Seriously?
But you're OK with Democrats becoming the people who cheer on losers like cop killer Chris Dorner, right? My my my how fluid are the "morals" of liberals.
As disrespectful as it was,I still had to kinda smile when GOP (Texas) freshman Senator Ted Cruz impuned Hagel, then got a tongue lashing from Senator MCCain(which then McCain turned around & voted no for Hagel also). It is like these guys are auditioning for SNL--like Rubio when he gave the rebuttle to the State of the Union-the comedy shows are having a field day with his cotton mouth. The GOP just keeps eating their own-changing the faces, but delivering the same old message that the voters overwhelmingly rejected in 2012.
You're changing a president's name to "Shrub" and you're claiming convservatives are acting like children? Good luck with that.
Who was 'shub Jr.' ,liberal? Better yet, who's Herbert 'Hover'? As for the rest, just the same politics dems player 2000-2008
Hey,funny that they didn't ask those questions to Condolessa Rice.Who was the dictator that was really really enamored by her? Wonder what kind of monetary compensation he gave her? But,whatever. The fact remains that the GOP is throwing their fellow GOP under the bus.. Stellar
The real question who was right, Bush and the Republicans or Hagel. I think the history has already been written. This is tantamount to the Chicago mob putting Elliot Ness on trial.
Nice try, but what you are referring to is Insaneomar Qaddafi, who apparently had a crush on Condoleeza Rice. Here's the problem you face: this crush was disclosed long after Bush was out of office and long after Condaleeza Rice was Secretary of State. What exactly should happen in this case? Qaddafi is dead. Rice was long out of her job when the information was found out. Do you have any evidence to suggest any payment was made? What would you hope to accomplish by questioning Condaleeza Rice? That IS your goal, right, to dig up dirt on Condaleeza Rice? What we are talking about here and now is scrutinizing a candidate for Secretary of Defense. Any person trying to get a government job with international reach and implications needs to open up the books on their ties to people, places and things in other countries. So enough about Condaleeza Rice and other facets of history, what about here and now?
Nope, it was a one of Shrub's fellow Texasses that named him that. I'd rather call him scumbag, or international war criminal. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/01/washington/01ivins.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 This is the classic ignorance the GOP depends on to get votes.
Just making a comparison dude, that's all---Again fact;the GOP is throwing the GOP under the bus-acting like spoiled children with old vendetta's .
Yeah because that's not any less childish then calling him Shrub. Seriously you lose any pretense on taking the high ground when you behave exactly like the people you accuse.
Yeah, the American People don't want cuts to the welfare state. But the rich alone don't have enough money to cover the costs of the welfcare state. The rest of the American Ppl don't want to raise taxes on anyone but the rich, but the rich alone can't cover the costs. Whats the solution to this dilemma of NIMBY when it comes to taxation? The average democrat who makes 75k a year doesn't want to pay taxes either and he'll vote republican if dems raise taxes much more. So if the rich don't have enough, and the middle class doesn't want to pay. What solution is there?
Well, One solution would be for the GOP to find better candidates that are smart enough to come to the table to do a tax reform that is fair & balanced for everyone & actually work on what we elected them to do,instead of obstruct progress by filibustering every proposal, whether it was their proposal or not. And,no disrespect, but where did you get that the middle class does not want to pay? Actually,if you were to ask any middle class person,me for instance; I am willing to pay a little more in taxes to get us going again. The Bush tax cuts that finally just ended,we(meaning middle class)knew they ended for everyone, not just the top1%. And FYI; did you hear yesterday, that the United states & Switzerland signed a deal not to accept any more tax evasion people from our "United States". That is now 5 countries so far,not taking any tax cheats from the U.S. MMMM wonder where ole Mitt Romney is going to go now to hide all his?
Worse than Hoover would have been more accurate. Anyway I think Hagel is justified in most of the things he says.
Every con reply only confirmed the thread. After what Shrub and the Dick, cons may not be in the White House for another 40 years. As time passes, the more prophetic Hagel will become, and the cons know it.
