Global Warming forces FL Spring Breakers to wear clothing

Temperatures 10-20 degrees below normal are putting a damper on Spring Breakers who flocked to FL for warm weather. Instead, they were greeted by cold weather. Personally, I think it's all their imagination because all the CO2 has surely pushed temps into the 90's. With all of this AGW going on there is no way it's cold in FL

Seems like temperature has shifted averages by a month or so...

Right now, we're feeling what would normally be late Jan./early Feb. weather in FLA...

Is global warming defined solely as isolated weather incidents in a fraction of percentage of the entire planet's surface?

I do find it utterly hilarious that every couple of weeks this failed argument gets trotted out, with claims of a localized weather incident are proof, absolute proof that the millions of data points taken over the entire planet over the previous century are wrong! It is as if partisanship has shoved any and all forms of reality out the window.

I fully agree with you that man is causing these cyclical climate changes which have occurred long before man even walked the earth.
I cannot explain what caused the cycles before man but we are absolutely the reason they now occur.

I am not sure how that relates to the failed premise that one small region out of the entire large planet being slightly cooler than normal means the entire planet is not warming when it clearly has been demonstrated that is has.

Once again we have baked our Groundhogs here in Texas.

The idea that spring breakers are going to have to wear sweaters over their young naked bodies is about as depressing as it gets. It will be 30 degrees south of Austin, Texas in the morning. A cold Spring Break is something that can scare a young man's life for the rest of his days. A cold wind on the beach when a guy is expecting girls in little or nothing can cause work place and school shooting years later. A cold Spring Break is a very bad omen for 2013. The 20th day of the week is Friday, so what we have is a year that = Friday the 13th.

What I fine as utterly hilarious is that the global warming nuts base their cult on information that is relatively new. We have no idea what the real global temperature was just a few decades ago but our new satellites show that it maybe a half degree warmer now than we thought it was in the 50s. The data points taken over the entire planet over the previous century are no good now because we have new ways of collecting data. We have no way of knowing what the global ocean temperature was in the 50s and after that we expected global cooling in the 70s so those numbers were no good,, were they. All we have is self serving numbers created by professional global warming alarmists.

Then why are you so concerned? Why spend so much time defending Olgore if there is noting that man can go to stop global warming???

 

I agree there are posts dealing with AGW when it is warm, generally based on a trend seen over a year, decade, or some other extended period of time showing unusual happening on a global or regional scale...this is due to a noted and scientifically verified series of measurements indicating something worth noting.
We call this a "Trend" or perhaps Climate.

A cold snap in Florida during winter does not meet the above criteria, and the attempt to dismiss what is happening to the climate based on such is an obvious ploy used by those who lack the understanding of our reality or cannot grasp the science to disprove something that cannot be disproven.

 

The weather has been unusually warm here... especially Jan through Feb. Though climate change is measured over more than a decade, the colder weather or weather here now in March is pretty much normal. I can remember cold periods in late March-early April that were nasty. In the early 80s in Feb. we had 13-15° and didn't go above 26° and that's cold for here.

Record lows? Tallahassee had 18° ? No. It was 21° ...I'm in Tallahassee and 99% of the time I'm 7° degrees warmer than the official temp people see. The official temp for Tallahassee is recorded at the airport south of the Cody Scarp (escarpment) with an elevation of 80 feet. Where I live around 15 miles north I'm at 232 feet MSL. The airport attracts cold since it's a low lying area. One or two days mean zero in climatology.

One day does not indicate any form of anything, or does it? I have a fact that confirms a slow warming. We are going through climate change hot and cold. We always have. But is it short term (100 years) or long term (300,000 years?) History says warmer. Understand that a cold event or huge snow means that Australia, Chile, Argentina, South Africa are hot.

Posting actual facts is a waste of time. Ideology trumps facts without the slightest effort. In fact, with so little effort that what's surprising is that science ever got invented at all, rather than that it took man 10,000 years to do so, and even then only in one isolated culture and region.

Scientific thinking, basing conclusions on facts rather than starting with conclusions and fabricating facts to fit, is extremely unnatural to the human mentality. We see very little of it here or anywhere, and where we DO see it, it's the result of half a lifetime of dedicated training.

And so we see "I don't believe it" responses, as though reality was a matter of belief.
