Egyptian Army has given Morsi 48 hours to answer the people or it says it will step in.

I'm not sure the Egyptians can trust the military. The protesters are reading into the military threats like it's just against Morsi, but the actual wording seems to indicate it's a threat to ALL sides. 48-hours from now Egypt could be ruled by a military junta. The people forgot that the Military was its own, third side in the conflict.

Exactly. If the military takes over, what are the odds you'll end up with another military junta modeled after some third-rate banana republic - which for Egypt might be a step up. Maybe.

If the "Muslim" Brotherhood is booted out, it will be a big set back for the US/UK/Israeli/Wahabi crazies?

Just as always...the population of a Middle Eastern Country revolts and high hopes fill the air....UNTIL...they realize their new leadership is just as corrupt as the old leadership.

All the while....Muslim Extremist Groups pretending to be a Political Party such as the Muslim Brotherhood...wait in the wings while everything falls apart.

They wait for the moment when things get so bad that people will turn to any group that can stop the insanity...even if that group is intent on establishing Sharia Law and using Religion to control the masses as they do so with the sole intent on controlling the wealth of an entire country.

The military has always been behind the political scene in Egypt. They are the 5th estate of sorts. If Gamal Mubarak had been Col Mubarak, the toppling of his father would never had happened.

Because Egypt made peace with Israel...the Egyptian Military enjoys massive U.S. Aid.

The Egyptian Military Leadership have always taken a part of this U.S. Cash aid for their own personal use and the Egyptian Military WILL NOT be pleased with any government or political movement that wants to cut ties with the United States given they are being paid in cash and arms from the U.S.

Now the Egyptian Military was directed and informed by the CIA that any crackdown upon the population of Egypt during the revolt and demonstrations would not be tolerated as well if they either did this by orders or by their own will...any chance of continued U.S. aid being sent to them would be ZERO.

The Egyptian Military did not crackdown and were hailed by the population...but they didn't crackdown for a reason.

that would never have happened because Gamal was hated by the military

Countdown to Morsi ouster and we are at 36 hours

MB release statement and reject SCAF ultimatum

Al Asisi is going to have to send in the elite forces round them up and put them on planes to Qatar

SCAF issue travel restrictions on Morsi and entourage

Khairat al Shatr who was supposed to run for presidency before Morsi and who is top guy in MB report his house was under siege and army have arrested his bodyguards for possession of weapons

Al Sisi SCAF state they will not be involved in politics or in the government of Egypt but will transition will of the people of Egypt by outlining a roadmap

The Egyptians and the Egyptian Military knows that aid from the U.S. as well as desperately needed investment from the West to help the Egyptian Economy would NEVER COME as long as the Muslim Brotherhood were any type of Political Force in Egypt.

American and European Companies would stay away from Egypt as if it had the Plague is the Muslim Brotherhood was some part of the Egyptian Government and the Egyptian Military did not want the MB as a part of ANY aspect of Egypt.

Anything less than a secular and progressive Egypt will spell the downfall for the Egyptian economy.
