Me its Smith & Wesson stainless steel revolvers, 1911 Colt or Rock Island Pistols, and lighters. Real lighters, not no Bics or thow a ways. Zippo, Bently, MyFlame from the 50s are the coolest. Small watch collection of one Movado, one Citizen, one Bulova one Armitron for daily wear. And pocket knives. Cant resist a cool pocket knife.
Books. 3360 at last count & I hear amazon calling. My wife complained once that I spent too much on books. I told her I would quit buying books & spend the money on other women. I'm still buying books.
Bottles from the store. It's kind of a momento to me, because they mean I was able to get them on my own.
We have a large collection of Christmas ornaments & decorations, plus some Thanksgiving decorations. For me, that includes Belleek's annual lighthouse bell ornaments. I also have a set of collectible butterfly ornaments (48 in the set). Lots of aquatic themed ornaments as well (dolphins, seahorses, mermen, and some miscellaneous sea creatures), and fantasy themed ornaments (mainly dragons). My partner is all about rocking horses and Elmer Fudd. I also have collections of 1876 Cape Cod style dishes from Avon, Anchor Hocking Royal Ruby vases and Forest Green vases. Some stuff from other companies as companion pieces (Arcoroc, Napco, E.O. Brody). I have a small collection of wooden boxes. A number of glass paperweights. Miscellaneous knick-knacks. Also a growing collection of art by Kevin Dyer (just smaller pieces). One mostly neglected coin collection. That's a taste of it anyway.
I used to collect quite a few firearms, I think I have 50 or so. Haven't really purchased collectable firearms in a while... not really sure if I really collect much anything now. It seems everything I buy has some sort of utilitarian use to it. lol How is that possible? You are pro-gay, therefore you hate God.
Antique cameras. I went a little nuts on ebay a few years ago and had to build a wall sized display case in the basement. Military History books, having inherited my dads substantial collection. A little art. My favorites.... Kenneth Wyatt, http://www.kennethwyatt.com/ Charles Beckendorf http://beckendorf.myshopify.com/collections/prints
As little as possible. I believe in traveling light.
Me too. Used to collect books and albums/CDs/MP3s. No more, esp dust collecting nonsense. If it doesn't have a function it goes.
Military patches & challenge coins. What is a challenge coin you ask? What does a challenge coin look like, for example? The type of hobby that doesn't take up too much space.
I collect fairies and I broke a wing on my favorite 6 in. one I paid $37.50 for. I also have a nice collection of fairies along with dragons. I like knights and swords. I collect spoons and have all the states and many from around the world. I also have some old Japanes clay plates that were handed down to me. The clay is now rare in Japan so the plates are not only very old but worth money. I also collect tea cups and saucers. I have about 10 really nice gold trimmed ones, some with childhood themes and most with flowers on them. Ebay price I would sell them for about $25 a piece.
Computers Inadvertently, I must add. Hmm, I kind of have the beginnings of a medieval weapon and armor collection as well. Nothing vintage, though. Oh yeah, and I kind of collect drinkware. I like cool cups. - - - Updated - - - Re: fairies and dragons, you'd probably get along well with my sister Re: the broken wing, superglue!
My prize is an unopened bottle of Schlitz "Repeal Special" from 1933, from one of the first carloads to leave Milwaukee after prohibition.
I collect stamps, computers and credit card debt... I used to collect movies and anime series but the magic is gone now... My stamp collection is still active. I collect mostly the european powers, commonwealth/colonies, japan and usa up to 1945.
Hmm. Neat topic. Let's see... Vinyl (that's "records" for the kids), mostly 70s-80s U.S. and U.K. punk and bebop-era jazz. A good smattering of some highly-collectible oddities, bootlegs and rarities. Also have a real fondness for early American country and blues along with gospel records. Heuer wristwatches, stopwatches, and pocket watches (pre-"TAG"). Microphones (I know, right?). Mostly vintage German and Austrian valve condenser mics--Neumann, Telefunken, AKG, Sennheiser, Schoeps, etc. It's not so wierd, actually, since I used to own a recording studio. Also have some really cool vintage Japanese mics (Sony and Audio Technica). That's about it. I WISH I had a cool car collection or a cool motorcycle collection, but... not made of money!
Don't know too much about Heuer. I'm a fan of the Casio G-shock. I subscribe to various aviation related magazines and they market all sorts of high priced wristwatches like Brietling, Omega and Rolex specifically as "aviation romance." "Wear what the professionals wear"...showing a photo of a chisled jaw 21st century Red Baronesque pilot leaning up against his fighter jet....sporting this $4,000 "chronograph." You want to know what the professionals wear? Well many anyway... Casio G-shock....most selling for less than $100. sorry for going off-topic...I can't deal with watch snobs...not that you are of course!
