Assad did not expect the FRENCH to be able to detect them nor did Assad think the French with their outspoken objections to U.S. involvement in Iraq to tell the Americans.

The French did inform us and Obama also PUBLICLY made it a POLICY to arm Syrian Rebels.

Congress shoots down Obama.

Obama makes a deal with Putin.

Putin is allowed to sell the missiles to Syria and is promised that who ever will eventually be in power in Syria will not effect Russian Gas Pipeline Interests.

Putin is allowed to publicly criticize U.S. and French Chemical Weapons Use Claims but in return for this agrees to PUBLICLY STATE...which Putin did....that if the Russian Chemical Weapons Inspectors in Jordan working with E.U., U.S. and French Inspectors....or the U.N. Team if allowed into Syria...which it was....finds proof that Assad is using Chemical Weapons.....Putin agrees to this statement which he made..."If these Chemical Weapons Inspectors find proof that Syria lead by Assad has used Chemical Weapons....Russia will back any and all action to remove the Assad Government from Syria.

I get a call last week by my friend who I cannot say no to asking me to go to the region....which he KNOWS is a region of the world I HATE.

I and my Team get ready and wait....only to be told our...JOB is on Indefinite Hold.

The OP is right about one thing. Assad's men will get a chance to fight to the death. But like the Iraqis and Afghans found out, when you are fighting to the death against the American forces, death may come a lot quicker than you bargained for. The US forces, once the light goes green, will dish out pain ten times what Israelis ever did.

Actually, there's something very useful and crucial you can do at this point. Disobey. It's not just Obama, anyway, and not just the Democrats. See the whole picture here, spacially as well as temporally. We've been on a long descent into dictatorship. At some point we all must stand up and refuse to play along, or one of these days we'll see something pretty ugly where the Republic used to stand, but at a point where stopping it will be even more difficult.

I am dismayed at the blind loyalty of the military to this government. They don't seem to see, or are simply unwilling to accept, that the current government is a usurper of sorts, long having replaced the PEOPLE as the rulers of the land. It's just happened so gradually that no one could quite put their finger on what's been taking place.

Disobey now and save lives, both American and otherwise human.

 

OPSEC generally covers several different scenarios that should never be discussed with those who are not on a need-to-know basis. Remember: just because the military tells you something, does not mean you can talk about it publicly

Well you can narrow it down to uniform inspector, spy, negotiator, hipster or rodeo clown. None of those are very popular during wartime.........of course two of those are NEVER popular.
