http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/21/justice/nevada-middle-school-shooting/ At least he had the good sense to kill himself at the end instead of clogging up the justice system like James Holmes. Though it's still sad that innocent children had to die because of this worthless punk. Also, how the hell did he get a hold of his parent's gun? It's every gun owner's job to hide that kind of stuff from a young child who doesn't know any better.
Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Or at least that is what the NRA claims. Here on PF though a gun is just a tool, not sure what the purpose of the tool is, but it is a tool many claim. I wonder what section of Home Depot I can get a shotgun.
I wonder if this guy was mentally ill like the last few dozens of people who have done this. The rest were islamic terrorists.
Always wondered how being a gun enthusiast didn't make you a killer...but playing violent video games made you a killer. If a gun is a tool...then isn't a game just a game? Though here starts the count down to someone blaming this on video games.
if the teacher ex marine was armed with his own gun ..end of story and that student would be the only one shot
That's assuming he didn't accidentally miss the perp and hit an innocent student. There are no guarantees.
marines are good shots i heard. sounds like most of the others kids where not that close http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/10/21/in-video-student-describes-nevada-school-shooting/
Marines are susceptable to PTSD now? I want whatever you are smoking. Nobody knows how this guy would react in a combat situation..
It isn’t always that simple. If you have very young children you should certainly keep your gun in a safe. There are some quick hand release gun safes that you can even open by feel in the dark. If you are keeping a gun for self defense it is pointless to keep it locked up where you can’t get to it quickly. And as for older kids having access to the weapon? I have read enough stories of teenagers and preteens saving their lives and the lives of their younger siblings by using the family firearm to stop an intruder. I don’t feel right telling those parents they were wrong in teaching their kids to use the gun and allowing them access to it. At the same time, IF you are going to allow your kids access to your weapon I think you should be held legally accountable for what they do with that weapon. Then you can judge for yourself if you feel your kid is mature enough and mentally sound enough to have such access.
You are right, I was speaking for myself, and every situation is different, I keep my guns locked up when im not home, and my 45 xd out when im home, because of what I do for a living, my kids know they can just let out my two dogs, and they will keep someone busy enough to get out of the house.
I'm hearing the usual "coulda shoulda woulda" from the pro-gunners. Meanwhile the hard facts on the ground are that yet another legally purchaced gun has been used in a murder. If there was a disease causing this many desaths in the US, it would be catergorised as an epidemic and the WHO would be involved.
So where was Quick Draw McGraw when you needed him most? You know, the law-abiding, gun-toting responsible citizen who would have stopped the killer in his tracks. What America obviously needs is more guns. Lots more guns. "I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die...", said Johnny Cash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALkCaDcVN-Y
And Rockstar Games should be charged when someone runs over someone else after playing GTA4, then they can go after Honda, since the car was a Accord. Sue McDonalds because you're fat too, then charge Starbucks because you're addicted to caffeine.
I doubt if the kid had ever heard of Johnny Cash. But I bet he watched violent movies produced by the libs in Hollywood and played violent video games that have become a central feature of growing up in our modern lib culture.
How many lives do guns save every year? Let me guess, you never even bothered to think of the other side of the equation? Obama ordered that study to be done. He didn't like the answer, which is why he and the left never talk about it.
When was the last time someone went into a police station to shoot up the place? Why wouldn't a person, even the craziest person, go into a police station and shoot the place up?
