How can any rich white male vote for the Democratic party?

Conservative values work for everyone. They build independence, self-respect, and ultimately prosperity. All you have to do is commit to them and apply them daily. But the Democratic party has gone out of its way to marginalize these values to just a few small groups of people in order to keep everyone else ignorant, dissatisfied, and supplying them with a steady stream of votes.

So it would certainly appear that liberalism deliberately seeks to burn caucasians, males, and people with money (successful people). With this in mind, why would any wealthy person, white person, or man ever vote Democrat? Their enitre stance is that, "You are inherently bad because of what you are. And you must feel guilty." They want to break your spirit and force you to walk around hanging your head in shame, begging for penance. So why on earth would anyone with a healthy self-esteem ever vote for these people? What exactly do they stand to gain? Talk about Stockholm syndrome.

Conservative values work for no one, except a very tiny handful of the extremely wealthy. They promote selfishness, ignorance, racism, sexism, homophobia, jingoism, etc. They also rob human beings of their inherent value and turn them into commodities, and then value humans on the market!! If you are a good productive citizen, capitalism and conservatism values you, otherwise you can go die in a ditch!! That is because your market value is all that conservatives care about, despite the fact that they pretend to be Christians. So a person who is kind, thoughtful, pious, etc would be a valueless leech if they happened to be handicapped. What a lovely set of values!! Why don't more people adhere? I mean why aren't all white men racist, sexists, and homophobes? Why don't they all believe people who aren't productive are worthless!! Listen to the Pope for a second, and you will understand why the modern American conservative movement is so extraordinarily immoral!!

PS. You started the trolling, so I thought I would play along!! :)

It's easy if you're a crony, making out like a fat rat on your Democrat connections.

Sorry. You're going to have to be more specific. Otherwise this is just empty name calling.

This is kind of my point, though. Here you've done an excellent job of explaining how you don't actually understand what conservative values are. Which is why you don't understand what they do. Your only understanding of conservatism clearly comes from a warped, liberal perspective.

And your complaints about utilitarianism are not truly anti-conservative at their core. They are simply anti-nature. Conservatism is essentially just an acknowledgement of what is and a disciplined effort to work with it instead of against it to produce the best possible results. To reject the conservative principle of utilitarianism is, in essence, to reject nature itself. Or at the very least, to show that you do not fully understand how nature works.

As far as Christianity goes, what you have to understand is that a good Christian is not an enabler. A good Christian does their best to give their fellow man what they need, not necessarily what they want. If a heroin addict approaches you, which is going to help them more? Offering them free heroin or offering them rehab? The heroin addict will interpret free heroin as "nice" and rehab as "mean." But which one is actually helping them and which one is actually destroying them?

I explicitly stated I was trolling, so my post was not indicative of what I believe conservative "values" are actually all about!! The only part of my post I would actually seriously argue is fundamental to conservative values, and which I disagree with, is that people are valued as commodities. That is true and something I oppose. Otherwise my post was just trolling in the vein of the OP!! My post was filled with misrepresentations, straw men, and ad hominen. Just like the OP.

PS. I actually understand conservatism far better than you clearly, because your conception of conservatism is meaningless nonsense!! It is just an acknowledgment of nature!! :spin: What? It has nothing to do with acknowledging nature!! Not only that, but people who claim to understand some fundamental "nature" of the human condition are snake oil salesmen!! Human beings are varied and complicated. One cannot reduce the human condition down into a set of cliches and platitudes, things are more complicated than that.

Which I just explained was erroneous.

Would you like to explain how the OP was filled with misrepresentations, straw men, and ad hominem?

Of course you're going to say that, though. Because you don't understand conservatism or nature. And it's not even that you don't get it that's the problem. It's that you're not even interested in trying to understand it. Because you'd rather cling to the world you think you know. Because it's more comfortable. Which is to be expected. Because most of us do it. Why? Because it's....... say it with me now........ human nature. ;)

I think you've got it backwards. If I was a rich whitey I would be publicly an over the top liberal. Rich people who are on the right are targets of the left, and the left is the establishment. If I'm a rich guy trying to do business, why do I want the media and government breathing down my neck every second? But if I'm a rich liberal, it's a totally different story. The establishment loves rich people who appear to be class traitors. Warren Buffet is a good example. He's loved by the establishment because he talks up tax increases. Bill Gates had to learn that lesson. Microsoft ignored DC and never made political contributions, and ended up being hauled into court by the Justice Dept as a monopoly. He hired some lobbyists, spent tons of money on stupid pols, and got off. Now he's considered practically an elder statesman. But he's still rich as hell. The main difference is that he tried to ignore the establishment in the 90's and was considered a robber baron and almost had his company dismembered by the government. Now, he's a lefty philanthropist. Rich people are usually smart enough to know how to craft a public image to fool the simple.

Or compare that to the Koch Brothers...

So if I win the MegaMillions, count on me suddenly being concerned with income inequality and social justice.

But thankfully you are around to properly understand human nature!! Thank god for the superhumans like you, or else we would all live in the dark in perpetuity.\

First my point about peoples values being determined by the market, was shown to be erroneous by you, this despite the fact that nothing you said addressed that point in any way. Apparently the superhuman knowers of essential human nature, are able to also show things to be erroneous without addressing or acknowledging those things in any way.

As far as how the OP is filled with that? The entire OP is a string of meaningless platitudes about conservatism and then a string of straw men and a bunch of ad hominem about liberals. If you want to me to link to the parts I mean, I would just link the entire post, because that is all that it is!!

"Conservatism builds independence, self-respect, and ultimately prosperity." An entirely meaningless statement which is asserted but not supported.

Then you talk about how Democrats want to keep everyone ignorant and want white people to feel bad about what they are. A straw man of epic proportions!! Defending Democrats makes me feel dirty, but the right makes such nonsensical criticisms of them, I am forced to do it so often!!

The reality is the entire system wants to keep people ignorant. They want people to believe that Conservative values are the answer, and liberalism keeps people ignorant and makes you hate white people!! Or they make you think that Liberalism is the answer. It is on the side of science and evidence, is open and inclusive, and doesn't pander to the interests of a very small minority of people. Alternatively conservatives make you hate science and learning and want you to be ignorant. They make you hate all other races except whites. The story goes on and on!! It is all a joke. None of it is true. Racial politics are used to divide people in the same way the Democrat vs Republican false dichotomy is. If we stopped caring about being white or the war on christmas or gay marriage or any of that (*)(*)(*)(*). We would understand that both parties represent the same interests and have no interest in representing any of us. If people opened their eyes, they would understand they have a lot in common with the evil Democratic/Republican voter and nothing in common with the elites who are actually represented by the system. However they don't and they spend their time on forums like this (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about liberals, and how they hate white people!! I wish you would open your eyes to reality, and you wouldn't depend on absurd intuited understandings of human nature, but I have very little hope of that!! You have internalized the same propaganda that 90% of the country has. Thankfully my generation is starting to see through some of this (*)(*)(*)(*), and is no longer supporting either party!!

Where do you people come up with this insane (*)(*)(*)(*)!! Some wealthy people support Democrats, because both parties are in the pockets of wealthy people. Go look at campaign funding from time to time. It isn't Republicans getting all their money from business and Democrats getting their money from unions and the local organic food coop!! They both get funding from the same set of interests and represent the same set of interests!! You see the facts, but have been so brainwashed to think one way, that you have to contort them beyond imagination to shoehorn them into your preconceived notions!! Ya the rich are often liberal, but it is because they are class traitors, or they are afraid of the powerful liberal establishment." It is so insanely silly, I wouldn't believe anyone actually believed that, if I didn't see it written in front of me.

A lot of socially liberal plans and projects blatantly hurt the poor, such as the attempt to end stop and frisk which takes weapons away from street gangsters.

The only way I have been able to understand how someone can support these sorts of things is by concluding that 1: they secretly hate the poor, and 2: their main goal is to insure that they can't be blamed for any ills that befalls the poor.

If you look at it this way, it all makes sense. They can claim that they are "protecting" the "civil rights" of the poor while at the same time empowering street gangsters to indiscriminately shoot and kill the poor.

What good are extreme civil rights to you, such as the right to not be stopped and frisked for one minute, if you're dead? I have never heard a good answer to this question from any New York liberal.

Humans have to be factored into economic calculations, no matter whether we're talking about some centrally planned Commie paradise with breadlines and one brand of automobile or fat-cat free market America. You can't avoid figuring and attributing some sort of mathematical value to people when you work in business or economics. In fact, to avoid doing so is to invite spectacular failure of whatever venture you're involved in.

And it just so happens that the American left wing fail to take such values into consideration. They want everyone to have a wad of cash to spend and unlimited health care, for example, without any concern for how these things are to be arranged and funded. They care only about these specific ends and typically fail to understand the practical reality behind providing what they dream of. America's massive population makes the health care thing unfeasible, as we end up having way too much cost relative to productive capacity for some Canadian or European style single payer system to function sustainably, and of course people can't have tons of money to throw around without rendering a productive service of some sort commensurate with the amount they want to receive.

Except for all rich white Democrat males, very few, if any, rich white men vote for Democrats. But it makes no difference how rich white men vote, because they are overwhelmed by the rest of the voters who consist of minorities and females and worship Obama.

For a rich white man, or any white man to vote for Obama is like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders or Custer calling for more indians.

Considering that the Democratic party's leadership is dominated mainly by white rich males.....I'd say pretty easily.

Your post is simply no more than your own opinion. I agree that extreme conservative movements, JUST as extreme liberal(progressive) movements due more harm than good. But conservatism is not immoral as you portray it. Conservatism IMO and the way I live it, means less Federal Government control of our lives, more personal responsibility to take advantage of information, education, opportunities inherent in our society, less welfare and more training, education and jobs with less taxation of our hard earned income. Plus 100% tax deduction of College tuition as by families and students bearing the cost, the Federal Government saved money. If the Government can give low interest loans and "free" money to low income students, they can allow those working fulltime and part time jobs to put themselves through school the ability to deduct those costs.
The term rich is "relative" to the amount of monthly income an individual or family has after paying the living expenses all of us must pay in order to provide for basic shelter, food, clothing. In order to pay for these basic needs for ourselves and our families, we must work to earn an income. The difference in income is what determines each individual/families ability to pay for luxuries.
The recession has hurt taxpayers in the 10% to 25% tax bracket equally IMO because most of these individuals and families bought homes commensurate to their annual income, have car payments, credit card payments, gas, electric and other living expenses. The only difference being that those in the upper tax brackets, regardless of debt payments and number of dependents get virtually no tax credit and their dependents get little if any college assistance. Not to mention that now they get no health premium subsidy regardless of the monthly premium cost increase, deductible increase and whether or not they have the disposable monthly income to afford it.

Why do the rich vote for the Democratic Party? I need to know what you consider rich? If you are talking about millionaires and billionaires my answer would be much different then if you are talking about a family that earns $250,000 but less than 1 million gross per year.

Due to the recession, not only have those in the 10% and below income tax bracket suffered but so have those families earning $250,000-$500

    LMAO! Who is everyone?

The very wealthiest Americans earned more than 19 percent of the country’s household income last year, and the top 10 percent captured a record 48.2 percent of total earnings last year. In 2012, the incomes of the top 1 percent rose nearly 20 percent compared with a 1 percent increase for the remaining 99 percent.

So you are saying being poor is a conservative value?

Unifier has made no point in the OP whatsoever, and his MO is too have a rant and leave the discussion.

The thread of the OP is a mile wide, even you admit that. Thats why you have no opinion to make either. Go on admit it.
