That's silly, because they're both mobile. I think Kaepernick may be a more talented raw runner, but Wilson is not very far behind at all. Being a Wisconsin fan, I got to enjoy Wilson's mobility every Saturday.

Seattle has chosen to limit Wilson's need to run, however, but he can bust out the read option anytime it is needed.

How many Super Bowls have "scrambling QBs" won?

Uh-huh...that's right..it ain't college, and the LINEBACKERS are as fast as the QBs anymore...

Actually it has more to do with the team than the QB.

They match up very well. The Seahawks defense specializes in tight blanket coverage and pressure. They excel in covering big body position receivers like the Thomas brothers and will light up any midget that tries to cross the field on them like Welker. Their weakness is maintaining coverage against team that stretch the field with speed.

How many lead footed QB's have won superbowls. Guys might not be thought of as "scramblers" but most Superbowl caliber QBs move very well in the pocket. You don't have to run a 4.4 40 to have great gap escapes.

Manning will pick them to pieces. There is NO QB like Manning in the NFC...NONE.

    - - - Updated - - -

Most are classic pocket passers. There is a reason for that.

What is a classic pocket passer? Since the advent of the west coast offense the big tall guy standing in the pocket sure as hell isn't classic. Moving in the pocket and gap escapes is fundamental to the modern QB. The big guys who cant move are an anachronism. Why do you think Matt Barkley dropped so far in the draft? Lead feat.

I think the Seahawks are re-piping in their own crowd noise through their giant speakers. The noise made is ridiculous. For other teams, like the Saints, to come in and not be able to audible at the line is over the top. The Seahawks will get destroyed once not at home by teams like:

    Denver
    New England
    49ers (now improved)

I would prefer a Denver v. 49er show down at the Superbowl. They seem to be the two best teams at this time.

Well I'm a Cowboy fan, it's been rough the past few years. But I have to keep my loyalty to the NFC and cheer for the Seahawks. They do have a solid defense and good run control game, a classic winning combination.

Uh hello, Drew Brees? Manning may have broke his season passing record, but Brees is still the only QB to throw over 5000 yards in more than one season. He's done it 4 times.

And let's not forget Aaron Rodgers. It's easy to brush him off this season because he was out most of it but he's a damn good quarterback.

Manning is good, definitely the top QB this season, but to say there are no qbs at his level in the NFC is just wrong

It's good to see the two best teams in each conference competing for the NFC & AFC championships. The Seattle - San Fran game is going to be great.

I've got the two home teams in these games going to the Supe - Seahawks vs. Broncos.

The NFL is finally making some strides towards diversity. Danny Woodhead being the primary ball carrier at RB in a playoff game is the first time a White RB has had that role since Merrill Hoge in 1989. Also, all of the WR catches for the Patriots on Saturday were by Caucasian athletes (Edelman, Amendola & Collie). In the AFC Championship game there will be 4-5 starting White WRs at any given time. Not too long ago it would have been impossible to field an all-White fantasy football team......not so much the past few years. I applaud the NFL for their movement toward more diversity........and particularly the Patriots who have been the best team in the league the past decade+........and not so coincidentally, the Whitest and most diverse.

Absolutely it was. Why deny it?

I just find it amazing your posts views on race are so pathological, so inherent, so necessary that even in a thread about football they manage to be ugly in regards to race.

Can folks just not have a fun conversation without the need to defecate such nastiness all over it?

Where is the nastiness? I simply put forth that "my team" is the Patriots........and that I follow them because, in a league that discriminates against Whites by only drafting about 25% each year, the Patriots strive for diversity with 50%+ of their starting line-up being White. They are rewarded for their progressive actions by being the best team in the league for the past 15 years........that's all positive and certainly not 'nasty'.

That homefield advantage is working for the Hawks.... too bad for them if they make it to the SuperBowl they won't have that going for them

Manning's career QB rating in playoff games and Superb Owls isn't that good.

Let's take a look by season at his team's final game, with the following noted: year, opponent, score, comp/att, yds, TD, INT & QB rating

    1999 TN 16-19 19 of 43 for 227 yds 0 TD 0 INT Rating 60.9

    2000 MIA 17-23 17 of 32 for 194 yds 1 TD 0 INT Rating 82

    2001 6-10 missed playoffs

    2002 NYJ 0-41 14 of 31 for 137 yds 0 TD 2 INT Rating 31.2

    2003 NE 14-24 23 of 47 for 237 yds 1 TD 4 INT Rating 35

    2004 NE 3-20 27 of 42 for 238 yds 0 TD 1 INT Rating 69.3

    2005 PIT 18-21 22 of 38 for 290 yds 1 TD 0 INT Rating 90.9

    2006 CHI 29-17 25 of 38 for 247 yds 1 TD 1 INT Rating 81.7 (would've lost Super Bowl without Rex Grossman's three turnovers)

2007 SD 24-28 33 of 48 for 402 yds 3 TD 2 INT Rating 97.7 (Nice game but 4 & OUT on last two possessions of game, one a 1st & goal at the 9 yd line)

2008 SD 17-23 25 of 42 for 310 yds 1 TD 0 INT Rating 90.4 (led team to zero second half points)

    2009 NO 17-31 31 of 45 for 333 yds 1 TD 1 INT Rating 88.8

    2010 NYJ 16-17 18 of 26 for 225 yds 1 TD 0 INT Rating 108.7 (last game as a Colt)

    2012 BAL 35-38 28 of 43 for 290 yds 1 TD 0 INT Rating 88.3 (3 Manning turnovers lead to 17 Baltimore points)

So to sum up... Over a span of his entire career, in the biggest games of the season where his team absolutely needed him the most, Manning posted the following average per game line:

21 of 39 for 260 yds 1 TD and 1 INT QB rating of 77.

I don't see that changing this year. And if he posts those numbers in the Superb Owl, Denver will lose that game - and we all know that Seattle's D is special. You think the SEA D is going to let down the rest of the way? I don't think so. Denver's D is nothing special - above average - but not near the caliber of Seattle.

I think NE has been getting away with smoke and mirrors all year. Their run ends @ Sports Authority Field this weekend IMO. Their lack of TE comes to kill them this weekend; DEN will not allow them run on them as Indy did.

The best shot of an upset happens with SF vs SEA, but I cannot see SF getting past SEA when they barely got past GB - a game that came down to one near miss tackle, or one near miss INT by GB.

I'll stick with my prediction from the beginning of the year: SEA vs DEN

    SEA 27
    DEN 24

lol... not really. I discount everything the Seahawks do at home.

The Seahawks fear not having the noise advantage.

I think they are re-broadcasting through their speakers the crowd noise. It's just too much.

The 49ers had a bad day at Candlestick last time they met.... and still beat them. The Cardinals beat them... at home because the crowd was not up.

If the 49ers play their game and Kaepernick runs the ball.... it's 49ers to the big game again.

As long as they bring their defense and running game the 'Hawks will be fine.

It's interesting to note that all four teams are built for the weather conditions they're expected to play in at the Meadowlands in February...

The 'Hawks were missing some of their starters late in the regular season, but those guys are coming back now. I'd like to see them do more with Percy Harvin if he can stay in the line up.

Out of all the teams that are left, the 49ers have the best chance of beating the Seahawks. The NFC Championship will probably be better than Super Bowl...

Unfortunately for the NFC, both their teams have 'game managers' at the QB position........whereas the AFC teams have two first ballot HOFers..........HOFer vs 'game manager' is not a good place for the NFC to be........

To an extent. I think the Patriots had to adapt their style with all the injuries and everything and it's worked because of how good that coaching staff is, plus you still have to respect Brady. Almost the same thing with Denver minus the injuries. You have to respect how good Manning is and how good his receiving corps is that it opens up things for a back that has never had a 1000 yard season till this year.

Seattle and San Fran were 2 and 3 in rushing attempts this season and top 5 for yards. I think those two are need the rushing attack more then Denver or New England, but I think all 4 can get it done on the ground. The problem comes, if the rushing game can't get off, who has the better chance in the passing game and I would take either AFC team over the NFC teams.

Real bad. Who would rather play in the swamps of New Jersey in the dead of winter than Miami, New Orleans or Pasadena?

Obviously, the players and coaches had no say in that decision...
