http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-05-...t-critics-over-organ-donation-program/4701436 Although this is China it could be any country in the world were we to decide to go down the path of using organs from executed prisoners I changed the poll slightly from my original intent which was only to look at post execution harvesting. This is because in many places in Asia prisoners sell kidneys in particular, to gain enough money to bribe guards for food and other things.
Harvesting should be done as a public service. Familes and supporters (various anti-death penalty groups), can forego having their condemmed-ones ripped apart for any/all organs by paying a penalty. Probably $100,000 USD would be enough. Even if the organs go to people who have abused their bodies with drugs and alcohol this is still a worthy cause. Why feed these people to the worms when they can perform this final act of human compassion?
I don't believe the state should execute prisoners. And most of the civilized world has banned the practice. That being said, if a person is being executed by the state, their organs should not be harvested, as it creates the appearance of influencing from the death of the prisoner.
Lots of people wanting/needing organs, few prisoners - the social pressure to execute would be enormous, and this is what China has found
And that slippery slope potential is the problem. If that is taken out of the picture then it seems that organ harvesting from executed prisoners would be acceptable. But let's go back to the original situation. Too many people needing organ transplants, insufficient donors. Look for the cause and then work on it. Using the organs of executed prisoners is a solution that has been decided upon too quickly. Are there cultural reasons for opposition to organ transplants? If so then deal with those reasons.
Knights Templar cartel member caught trafficking organs... POLICE NAB CARTEL MEMBER IN ORGAN TRAFFICKING CASE Mar. 17, 2014 Police in Mexico's western state of Michoacan detained an alleged member of the Knights Templar cartel who is suspected of kidnapping children to harvest their organs, an official said Monday.
though shalt not kill or harvest the flesh of the dead they kill seriously though, I would not want the organ of a executed man\women unless they donated it willingly .
I just read a powerful article regarding this. http://www.pureinsight.org/node/6705 - - - Updated - - - Exactly! I heard a CBC radio interview on this topic last week and he was urging people to think of the possible consequences for an innocent person if they went to China and asked for a transplant.
Science fiction has been warning of organ harvesting for 40 odd years. I would hate to be the right tissue type in some countries
A Dr. Leo Rebello has an interesting theory about adding eighty or ninety trace minerals to fertilizer for the cost of about one dollar per person per year. http://www.healthwisdom.org/aidsminera.htm …. …. The research at Vilcabamba, Ecuador indicates that this could impract far more than our immune system.
