This is an interesting article, and from the BBC no less. A rural family in Eastern Ukraine is being interviewed and they complain that their voices are not being heard in Kiev. All they want is some kind of order and that they can't afford the cost of fuel which has risen one hundred percent. The mother has Russian citizenship and draws her pension from Russia since it is four times higher than in Ukraine. The reporter was shown a video of a school in Kiev, and you can see the children massed in the streets screaming hang the Russians, hang the Russians. Now can anyone tell me how these two separate people can live together in one country? The farmer said they get both Ukrainian and Russian stations, so they can know what is going on and make conscious choices. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-27122149
meanwhile Russian agents in Ukraine are murdering Ukrainian politicians and kidnapping American reporters.
Remember Volhynia. This is how civil war starts. I hope time is working for Russians. The Maidans are desperate an do not know where to go.
wow, another apologist for Russian Imperialism in Ukraine. its in the news, buddy. try reading it sometime.
You forgot to mention this, or isn't it politically expedient? SLOVYANSK, Ukraine Hundreds of residents of this eastern Ukrainian city under the control of pro-Russian militants came to the Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit on Tuesday for the funerals of three men killed in a shootout at a roadblock on Sunday. Many used the service to vent their anger at the interim government in Kiev, the capital, which they hold responsible for the deaths of the men. Mourners also accused the leadership of endorsing a violent campaign of terror to subdue eastern Ukraine. As church bells rang, the grieving cried, Glory to the heroes of Donbass, a reference to the region. The bodies of the men, who were identified as local residents, were carried in open, tulip-draped coffins down the steps of the church and toward buses with signs reading, Slovyansk Remembers Its Heroes. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/23/world/europe/mourners-vent-rage-at-ukrainian-leaders.html?_r=0
Isn't it strange that when the head of the CIA visited Kiev, the junta sent some forces to attack the protesters, and now when Biden visited, once again forces were sent to attack the protesters. It's obvious to the Russians, (and to the whole world), that the go ahead is coming from the U.S. So what are we trying to do, turn Ukraine into another Syria, or do we want Russia to invade? For what reason? Anyway both times the junta's assault failed miserably when the troops realized they were going against Ukrainian civilians. Anyway they were hungry, and wanted to be fed. Don't you love them?
Yes, hang the Russian terrorists who are trying to start a civil war and are murdering & torturing politicians.
Your post falls apart when you fail to point out that the hundred percent increase of the cost of fuel is the result of the great drop when Putin was trying to bribe Ukraine with cheap energy and the resultant leap in price when he revoked the bribe. Much too weaselly, and the report simply helps prove that 9 out of 10 journalists are lazy idiots who will buy whatever story people are selling. As for the two separate peoples, they were doing pretty well at living together until Putin and Yanky caused the crisis in the first place.
you forgot to add a commie like NWO feminist reporter - - - Updated - - - ah but the eu bankers started this civil war
Please be aware propaganda flows both ways. Right now I am not really prepared to believe anything coming out of the region news wise. The game is a foot, and there are plenty of players with stakes in the pot
Yes the sudden agitation and civil unrest in the East seems a little too well timed for my liking right now
This "hang the russians" video is appeared about 2 months ago few weeks before any captured buildings of the east. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12EatCkDYtc Also it is not a school in Kiev but students at Drogobich city hall Lvov region, western Ukraine.
That doesn't change the fact that thanks to the western alliance takeover of Ukraine, they are screwed on the gas price. If they didn't, they'd still be getting mate's rates from Russia. It doesn't matter anyway because Ukraine don't pay for their gas anyway. They're broke. Interestingly, you should look at what the EU proposal, back when there actually was a tangible offer, had the requirement to double the gas fee for Ukrainians, as part of the "austerity" that would be imposed, a plan so detrimental it would have made the Greeks jealous. You guys can complain about Russia all you want, and blame them for anything.. But face it, the plan to orchestrate a violent coup de'tat and overthrow the elected government to install a junta failed. It was a stupid idea, now Ukraine is screwed on gas, Russia got Crimea, the place is a mess and it backfired. If you didn't do that, you wouldn't be in this mess. Every single thing you say when you shake your fist at Russia you would not be able to say had you not intentionally destabalize the country. They would have taken the 15B from Russia and been better off, and holding Crimea still.l At the end of the day, you guys are going to have to focus on how you're going to help Ukraine, and come up with a solution for the complete disaster you caused.
After how horribly the TROIKA leveraged-buyout scam screwed Greece and other countries, and seeing the tragic results, I would run the opposite direction if any of them ever offered a "bailout"... Austerity = starvation because you stole the last you could off the poor. But yeah, surely they have a GREAT deal for Ukraine!!! BTW to all those coup supporters.. Winter's coming sooner than you think! I heard those continental winters can get pretty cold.
right like how russia claimed all those well armed troops in crimea were supposedly local militia? russia has admitted they were Russian troops http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...mits-that-it-has-moved-troops-in-Ukraine.html
ya it's very transparent you really to naive or just plain dumb not to see what they're up to...not that the USA was much better at concealing it's past bad behaviour... they may fool foaming at the mouth ideologue types but any rational person isn't taken in by these cheap dramatics...
Patrick Cockburn provides some sane analysis: "What makes Ukraine so dangerous is that all sides exaggerate their support, underestimate that of their opponents, and then overplay their hands. By accepting as legitimate a government in Kiev installed by direct action, the US and EU irresponsibly destabilised a tract of Europe, something that should have been obvious at the time. To quote Paul Claudel again: “It is fortunate that diplomats have long noses since they usually cannot see beyond them.” http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article38311.htm
