were more then our bodies, when you die you will once again be spirit, some people are even born with both genitalia, believe it or not "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience." - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin .
You sure seem interested in gay, transgender and incest topics, is one or all of them something that is off special interest to you? I always thought your avatar was just you making fun of others in the typical low brow way some often do, now I must know, it that really a picture of you? I hope so, because every time I see your posts I see your picture, I sure hope that was what you were going for, because that is probably how many think of you now. But nothing to be shy about, be who you are and be proud of it.
My uncle died while on a waiting list for a heart surgery in the UK that could be performed today by at least 12 hospitals within a one hour drive (unless it is rush hour of course) of where I live in California. To think that their limited resources are being squandered paying for nonsense like that when there are people with life threatening conditions having to wait for extended periods of time is insane. It's not in the least bit surprising of course.
But if I think something is true, then it is true that I think that, thus making it true. So that means what he thinks must be true as well, thus making him a man. - - - Updated - - - It's not a question as to what anatomical parts one person may or may not have. It's a question as to how the brain processes the various chemicals that react in there. So that would mean that even transgenders have a biological background to what amounts to a psychological issue.
..... yes. Well done. Then my statement holds true. He thinks he's a man, thus to him (and you), he's a man..... so no need for another taxpayer funded surgery. All you did was support me.
Hey I'm totally fine with these thought games... once. But obviously in this case what he thought was not truly what he thought, so maybe he should have thought a bit harder before being made into a woman. Otherwise it's a big middle finger to everyone who is sick and can't get the treatment he needs. Edit: To clarify, if being stuck in a male body causes anyone so much mental anguish that he needs an operation, I support that. My healthcare payment helps pay for a lot of things I will never need myself, so it's no difference to me. But that comes with a responsibility. If you get a new heart transplanted and continue stuffing your face with fat food and smoking 3 packs a day, maybe the next heart should go to someone who appreciates it. Same thing. This guy is not even dependent on donors. So he can happily change his sex every Chrismas, but maybe he should it pay it out of his own pocket.
then we agree, he has a mental disorder and adding and removing a penis will not cure it Congratulations for arriving at common sense
Thank you. You know the saying that it's not about the destination but the journey? This is one of those times when the journey matters more then the destination.
Sure, I can get where you'd be upset. It does seem irresponsible. But here's the problem. Gender confusion isn't cookie cutter. It really is something that can cause a lot of anguish and well confusion. It can mean that a person can think one solution is the best, when it might just be a symptom of another problem. It's a lot harder to get on horomonal therapy in Britain then in the US, so this fooled even the medical experts. There was responsibility, they just missed something.
Not sure I follow. If I think my glass is full of wine, then it is true that I think my glass is full. But that doesn't make it true that my glass is full. People can think things are true... and be wrong.
I have long suspected that most folks with gender identity disorders are homosexuals who refuse to allow themselves to admit it. It is not uncommon for people who have reassignment surgery to either reverse it or express strong desires to do that. I think the males to females have a particularly hard time with the hormone shots reeking havoc on their new normal not feeling normal. The long and sure of it is that even though I am gay, I think these people are generally freaks with more mental issues than anybody else on the planet. Gay, lesbian, and bi I get. Not these people if they do not have a genetic abnormality like being born with boy outsides and girl insides or boy insides and no penis.
You act upon what you think is "true". Think about a multiple choice test. You think the answer is a, so you mark a down as the correct answer. You get the test back, and it turns out it was b. It doesn't matter that the right choice was b, but what you thought was true. So if you think the wine glass is full, then you will act like the wine glass is full.
I'm sorry that it didn't work out for him, but what angers me is the sense of entitlement I read out of sentences like this (quote from the OP article): “I know I need these changes to make me happy, and no one should deny me that." Nobody did deny it. He got what he wanted. Now that he's not happy he wants to cancel the trade? It can't work like this.
Sure I can understand that. That being said it's about values at that point. If he values something different, it doesn't mean that it' right or wrong. It's just different values.
That makes sense. You're not saying the glass is full, just that you thought it was. It does matter though. If you act like the wine glass is full when it's not, your actions and expectations won't be based on reality. Your mistake will mean when you try and drink from that glass you won't sip any wine.
There's also the disconnect between someone denying him happiness and simply not wanting to pay for stuff that he thinks may make him happy. The two are not the same.
Yeah. Reminds me of that one time when I was denied happiness because nobody wanted to buy me a new car.
I don't care if you call it "Harry" lopping off a penis to treat a mental disorder is not going to cure it
Good thing that it's not just lopping off a penis. It's a very long process that deals with the mental aspects of it as well.
again I ask If you feel that you have superpowers, should we allow you to leap from a tall building? Of course the answer is no. You would be given psychological treatment. I am sorry if this hits close to home for you but in order to try and properly help those with mental disorders, we must stop acting as if it's more than what it is. Compassion is taking a hard stand and not buying the nonsense, but working to help. UCLA did a study which finds that about 41% of those who think they are "transgender" have attempted suicide. It's utter BS to try and blame others. You don't lop off a penis from someone who has no grasp of reality and attempts suicide. You get them mental help and commit them if need be. It is really no different than those choosing the homosexual life where attempted/suicide rate is 3x that of heterosexuals Clearly it's a mental disorder to choose the homosexual life or to claim to be "transgender" IMO, the APA has done no good by trying to normalize those mental disorders. If we really want to help those who are afflicted with those mental disorders then we need to have courage, label them for what they are, mental illnesses, and cure the people. Or, at least treat them. To patronize them by pushing for "homosexual or transgender rights" is simply kicking the can of responsibility down the street. Those people have an illness and need our help. They don't need us to justify their fantasy world.
"I am Woman!" Who wants the Book & Movie Rights to, "Woman not so Good; I am Man, Again!" Oops. got to check first.
