Obama forces army couple to relocate their wedding so he could play golf

I only hope that wasn't feeling on the issue, however I wouldn't be shocked if it was.

I certainly would have rescheduled my trip or found a different place to golf - then again I wouldn't golf nearly as much as Obama does and would spend more time focusing on my job.

If I was planning my wedding and knew that in advance I'd have picked a different venue.

 

Maybe they didn't have that luxury. They are military, getting married on a military base. Money may be tight. Could OBAMA have gone to another golf course to play?????? After all, it's the Christmas season and he says he's a Christian...

Sounds like this was an automatic process that happens to all plans at this particular course. It's a courtesy to the president because of all the logistics involved in having the president in a big open field. I doubt the president was even aware of the situation until after the golf game was finished. And when he was made aware of it he apologized personally. Not through a staffer.

The wedded couple received an upgrade and got to meet the president. Sounds like a deal to me. I'm engaged to be married and Obama can interrupt my wedding plans anytime he'd like if it means I get an upgraded venue and the chance to shake Obama's hand/speak on the phone.

And when the president found out about it he called the couple and apologized

The request to relocate the wedding was issued by the management of the golf course
Without the knowledge of the president,the White House staff or the secret service

Considerate people realize that a person doesn't get married everyday, but some play golf everyday .... so what's one day from another or for that matter, a few hours later?

 

I had once worked for the state government also and believe me, it was nothing like being in the military..... civilian - military.... 2 separate issues.

The soldiers who came back wounded, loss of limb(s) w/PTSD are the ones who really bled for their country......

Of course people get married every day, I only hope Obama was completely unaware that this wedding was taking place and if I was in his shoes and if this thing was just a misunderstanding in scheduling I would certainly try to make it up for them - politics aside that would be the moral thing to do.

Good people generally try to make things right if they've wronged someone if its in their power to do so.
