There are photos on the net for those who are interested.. Its become very polluted since 1967 and the river is down to a trickle because of Israel's mismanagement of water assets all over the West Bank .. They have consistently over pumped the aquifers. http://www.israeltoday.co.il/default.aspx?tabid=178&nid=21564 Site of Jesus' baptism now a cesspool Thursday, July 22, 2010 | Israel Today Staff As an indication of how severe Israel's water crisis is becoming, the site along the lower portion of the Jordan River where Jesus was likely baptized by John the Baptist may soon be declared off-limits due to pollution. The baptismal site welcomes more than 100,000 Christian pilgrims who wish to also be baptized there every year. Though it sits right on the border between Israel and Jordan in a closed military zone, coordination between the Israeli army and Jordanian authorities has kept the site open to tourists. But the ongoing regional drought has largely dried up the once-mighty Jordan River. The only thing flowing into the lower Jordan today is raw sewage from the nearby Palestinian town of Jericho, which has badly contaminated the baptismal site that lies just a mile or so downstream. According to a report by The Media Line, Israeli officials are considering erecting signs at the site that read: "Polluted Waters. Entry Forbidden
Israelis overlook the fact that water mismanagement was a huge contributing factor in the formation of the PLO and Hamas.

I always found it funny that god incarnate, or the son of god, would need to be baptized. Then again it's the same god who had to impregnate a minor so he could be made flesh, so he could later be killed to save us from the sins of being humans... The guy supposedly created the universe and all that's in it but can't seem to be able to do the simplest of things...
Scraping the bottom of <barrels> for an anti Israel sensation is the sum total of this person. Her <ANIMUS > against the Jews is paramount to any decadent thing the Arabs are doing. a) The place of St John the Baptist picked to baptize Jesus is not a sure thing. 2) Jericho is in the hands of the Arab and it is high time for these <super idiots> to built a sewer system of their own and not urinate and defecate like wild beasts with no consideration to others. The funny part of all that... is this woman implicating Israelis for the misdeeds of the Arabs is a hilarious... and should be the subject of a series of cartoons a la Mohammad of course. For those misinformed readers Israel has built several desalination plants and does see the need to waste water on religious demands but rather to make present people have a good life now that Israel has reached the 8 Million mark.
