Laura Ingraham: Jeb Bush Defends Iraq Invasion, "There Has To Be Something Wrong With Him"

    Laura Ingraham | realclearpolitics.com | May 12, 2015
    Excerpts:

"What he said was just rubbish. And when he is asked a simple question: "Knowing what we know now, not if you were in the same exact circumstance as your brother would you authorize this war, knowing what you know now. Namely that there were no WMDs, we got bad intelligence, if you had known those things, would you -- He said yes, I would authorize the war."

Or if you do, then there has to be something wrong with you. You can't still think going into Iraq now, as a sane human being, was the right thing to do. That's like you have no ability to learn from past mistakes at all. When the past mistakes were made by your brother. Jeb, if he truly is his own man as he claims to be, before he brought on a former CIA director, Paul Wolfowitz, the whole crowd is back. Like the old reunion. The Bush War Room, they're all back."

    .....

"But if you're going to truly be your own person you say of course I wouldn't, obviously that is not how the world works, we did the best we could at the time, but obviously now I wouldn't invade now based on what we know...I think he is going to be in this box, that the media are going to put him in, that Hillary, her team, will put him in during the campaign.

That is why we've got to turn the page here. We can not stay here re-litigating the Bush years again. You have to have someone who says I'm a Republican, but I'm not stupid. I'm a conservative and I learn from the past and I improve myself, I don't bring in the same people who made the same stupid decisions in the 2000s, to get us intro the next part of the 21st Century. Come on. We can learn."

    .......

IMO: Finally, some sage advice from an ultra conservative lady who usually will defend any republican who has done everything short of murder, but her blast at Jeb Bush only shows his definitive inability to think straight in answering simple questions...how would he do in a tight circumstance as president?....oh wait..he's got George W's old officials and aides to answer the questions for him. Does this mean we will have another corrupt, illegal administration and have a George W redo in brother Jeb Bush?

The American electorate is smarter than to vote for a repeat of George W. Bush in his brother Jeb, because Jeb just doesn't have the brains for instant politically, savvy responses and would need many mouthpieces to appear successful as a president. The years 2000 thru 2008 have been the most dangerous years in America's history, and we will continue to see the hatred expressed in the many new terrorist groups that were spawned by the actions of George W. Bush's administration - all with the admitted promise by G.W. "to keep us safe."

I don't know about you, but I have never felt more unsafe in my life. What will Jeb do to keep us safe other than give out daily color codes as to any possible terrorist attacks...to keep us afraid, not safe!

Jeb is an idiot and every Conservative I know, like myself, winced when he said he was running. He needs to shut up & go home. He can never win with his stance on immigration. His wife is a Mexican and he favors them.

He's a moron just like Dubya, who fooled me into voting for him the first time. I will not vote for this Bush.

I'm not voting for Hillary either, so I guess Gary Johnson is my only option if Jeb gets the nomination. You talk about two lousy presidential candidates!

    Eric Snowden should run lol

Remember that old saying about how if you point your finger at somebody else……. there are three fingers pointing back at yourself?

Well………… the moron's here………. in my honest opinion……… would be anybody sufficiently under informed to take seriously……… the popular explanation that Saddam……. even with billions and billions of dollars at his disposal ….. and nearly zero moral compulsion against torturing nuclear physicists or their wives, girlfriends or children……….. was unable to do anything significant toward actually acquiring any WMD's.

I know somebody on this forum who can pretty much verify or shoot down my theory………. but…….. I read well over a decade ago that Russia had gotten ahead of the USA in at least one area of the arms race…….. they had produced amazingly small…….. kind of like a large softball…….. dirty nuclear weapons that terrorists would love to get a hold of.

Well……. when the Soviet Union fell………. virtually anybody with enough money could get a hold of anything that Russian scientists could put up for sale…… and Saddam had lots and lots and lots of money……… as well as some really intelligent people working for him…… (who had survived being shot by him if they appeared to be a possible threat)?!

Already knew Jeb was a moron. The real news for me here is that Laura isn't completely insane.

    lol

Well Laura has her views, just like we do. At least she knows where she stands.

Kirsten Powers is pretty good on FOX News, and I watch Stossel religiously.

He has very powerful backers. Lots of money available. Get used to him, he'll be there until the primary at the very least.

My wife is Ecuadorian. Her second language is German. She has been asked which part of Germany she is from because her German is that good. You just gave me a good reason to take another look at the Jeb Bush campaign and on that note...…

....... for all of you who just can't handle truth.......

    http://www.politicalforum.com/polit...m-harper-deliberately-use-global-dimming.html

Did President G. W. Bush and P. M. Harper deliberately use Global Dimming to..

.... mask...… to decrease..... to hide.......to postpone......... a general Global Warming trend?

A second legitimate question is..... within fifty years is it at all possible that we may find out that they may perhaps have had a basically good idea in doing this?
    ...........
The ash, soot and dust that goes into the atmosphere from all those smoke stacks...… over the short term...… tends to mask/decrease a general global warming trend!!!!!!!!!

...........A New Mexico biologist and coach has put forward an alternative theory on how best to begin to stabilize the climate that has a number of advantages over a carbon tax or cap and trade system.

    ....
If you like YouTube... I personally did up a video elaborating on his proposal here:

SonofThunder...… although I would absolutely love to be wrong......… I am pretty worried about cities like New Orleans that are so vulnerable to the threat of rising ocean levels.....

The fact that I live less than five kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean..... gives me a somewhat different view of climate change than many have...…

    http://www.politicalforum.com/opini...saving-new-orleans-florida-rising-oceans.html

The Sahara Forest Project...and saving New Orleans and Florida from rising oceans!

Did you know that there is an Islamic prophecy that the Islamic desert regions would be turned green in the latter days?????

This topic is of special interest to me because I live about a hundred miles from the Bay of Fundy. I live five kms from the ocean on the eastern part of Nova Scotia. In my area the difference between low tide to high tide is about one meter! The land form of the Bay of Fundy has a funnelling effect on tidal waters and so parts of the Fundy have a difference of fifteen to seventeen meters between low to high tide!

The question on my mind would be if ocean levels were to rise about thirty centimeters in my part of Nova Scotia, would they rise by four or five meters along parts of the Fundy????

    ......

I felt a huge sense of relief when I first heard about The Sahara Forest Project!

I may be wrong….. in a way I would love to be wrong….. but…. I strongly suspect that within fifty years it will be common knowledge that President George W. Bush acted in sincerity…………. when he decided to invade Iraq?!

    http://www.politicalforum.com/canad...ush-my-two-favourite-american-presidents.html

Do you suspect…. that within fifty years, President George W. Bush will be a hero?

Yes…. no major city was nuked during his Presidency plus 7 years!

No… I believe the attack on Iraq was a terrible idea.

Yes…. teenage geniuses can build bombs, so Saddam would have gotten one!

No…he was too close with Big Business.

Hamza may be a self promoting liar

    http://seekerblog.com/2005/03/07/is-saddams-bombmaker-a-fraud/

But lets assume that saddam was a dangerous and bad guy
First it is not proved that an invasion was required
Many people suspect iran, but do not propose an invasion

    Second,
The follow on plan after the invasion was a disaster. So even if an inv was required, the execution was a debacle

    Third
These sorts of initiatives are partly founded on the cluster of ideas that we can and should re make the middle east. That we have the capability of shifting countries into a peaceful, prosperous, democratic path through our helpful intervention. These ideas have not worked out at all as planned.... In a whole series of countries. Imo bush will be seen as a leading exponent of an idea that history as deluded

Didn't Laura herself defend the invasion? I don't recollect too many conservatives who didn't.

Nah, he's 10x as smart as Dubya and 10x as devious.

Ingraham knows that Jeb is going to be the likely GOP Nomnee....and therefore SHE will have to defend him at all times.....

Bush likes Hispanics but for the wrong reasons. He likes them because they help keep wages low for citizens.

Also………. they tend to keep food prices low…… which in a sense makes every American a little bit wealthier……… because our grocery and restaurant budget goes further than it would without their contribution!

To what degree his motives are impure is way above my security clearance level and pay scale……...

    - - - Updated - - -

OK………. I hadn't thought of that angle! Thank you Gorn Captain!

Frankly…….. at the time…… if high level intelligence people were promoting the ideas of Hamza to President Bush…….. how would he be able to tell if they were lying???????

I think his motivation is that he has a powdered little heinie and doesn't like to be seen with the riff-raff. I am cleared to make judgments at that level.

Dennis, i think you are making your point with too much irony

Yes, it is a sad fact that people within an org can act with cunning to indirectly achieve some agenda.
And so the president can become a victim of information that is contrived and shaped... So that he will think he is evaluating the best intelligence.... When in fact he is being fed information to support a hidden agenda

It is becoming increasingly difficult for any of us to be certain that what we read/see is not contrived for our consumption. And i the end, the result is a sucessful disinformation strategy. Because a democracy ceases to function when citizens have false information, or have stopped trying to evaluate reality because they are drowned in a sea of spin and manipulation
