Is it time for more gun laws? Here are some interesting facts that many people don't know, that should motivate us to have some more gun laws. 1. The VAST majority, over 90% of murders, are committed with handguns. 2. Anyone who has a business outside of their home, can become a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer. 3. When someone buys more than one handgun in one month, there are no automatic records sent to the ATF. 4. A person could buy 100 handguns in one month, by going to different stores throughout the state, and nothing would legally stop him. 5. Your local hardware store, lumber yard, locksmith, might also be selling guns. 6. Many states do not give the ATF & NICS system important info about people being on medication for severe depression or schizophrenia. 7. There are no laws preventing someone from selling or gifting a handgun to a dangerous person or even convicted felon, in most states. This is all needs to change!!!
It is my 2nd amendment right to bear arms. If Hamas Terrorists, Iranian Terrorists or the Islamic State attack the USA, I must be able to shoot them. I cannot shoot em without a gun.
What irks me is that our pro-gun control politicians keep bleating about trying to restrict "assault rifles" after every news-worthy gun crime, when as you've just pointed out here, it's handguns that are the primary problem. - - - Updated - - - It's my right to bear a chaingun and hand grenades, dag nabbit!
They're also the most logical type of gun to put restrictions on, considering how easily concealed they are and, simultaneously, how unnecessary they are for home defense. One could accomplish that just as easily with a rifle or shotgun.
i have a great idea. all handguns require a permit, registration, and one-per-month purchase limit. in exchange, every household will be given a free shotgun by the government.
Hehe. I think that's being too generous. Restrict handguns to organisations like they do in Australia, where you can go shoot them at a range as you please, but can't (unless I'm mistaken) take them home and store them there. Let people have their constitutionally guaranteed arms in the form of rifles and shotguns at home, though. If handguns could be controlled this way, mass shootings and even drug and gang-related shootings should go down considerably, provided of course that enforcement is effective.
i suggest we increase some laws, and reduce others. for example: mandatory background checks for all handgun sales, and handgun registration. in exchange, create a national CCW program.
Just the first error, is the time I have, but you really need to understand, many people out there, not always cops also carry guns and save or prevent an awful lot of crimes.
So, since most States have relaxed carry laws and since gun violence has decreased during that time, what do you want to do? Go back to more gun violence?
Black population in New York City on the decline Also, many people have been priced out of the city as housing prices have soared. Now a larger percentage of the remaining population is upper middle class. Bad example. Why don't we look at Detroit?
most of the population of NYC is upper middle class?????? lol!!! where did you get such an idiotic statistic?
Why then did many places ban long guns soon after they put controls on handguns? In California, carrying long guns was even referred to as a "loophole". http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/cal...pen-carrying-of-long-guns-in-california-.html Is that how gun control advocates see this? As soon as handguns are banned, being able to carry riffles will be seen as just a "loophole" that needs to be closed?
I actually want LWNJs to push for that. What would commence afterwards will be an orgasmic experience.
Wrong again, they created stop and frisk. Now that they are no longer doing that your crime and gun violence rate is on the rise.
This is all bs. It's just like gay marriage. Neither side is discussing the real issue In gay marriage it's the image of manhood that links it to oppression. You can't be a "real" man unless you beat people up. Used to be your wife and then the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s, *****, wops and queers. Now you can't beat anyone up. The only thing you can do is discriminate, and gay marriage (and maybe baking) is the last real bastion of legal discrimination there is. Same as with guns. People don't want guns for hunting, sporting, protection, revolution; none of it. Guns are compensation for men with real or imagined physical deficiencies. Women who love guns? that's easy, ever hear of penis envy? This is not exactly a new idea and it's pretty obvious to anyone who thinks on it, but it should be kept in mind, as otherwise we will mistakenly think that a cigar is just a cigar and not realize why Carl Conservative is willing to shoot us for daring to suggest that we should have any laws restricting guns to responsible people
Either you didn't research or you may be inflicted with that disease known as ballistophobia and that will require seeking professional help and you might lose your Second Amendment rights. Guns are hardware and before post WW ll you went to a hardware store to purchase guns because guns are hardware. FYI: You are making (*)(*)(*)(*) up, convicted felons are forbidden by federal law to even possessing a firearm let alone purchasing one. You have a marijuana medical card ? When you stop smoking the loony weed federal law says you can't possess or purchase a firearm for ten years. It's time to start repealing most of these stupid gun laws that are on the books.
That's funny. You have a right to buy a gun and the right to have weed, but not both together. You have to pick and choose which rights you have, lol.
