I don't know current Jewish law, but how I see it, a person can be a Jew if they convert to Judiasm. And they can be a Jew purely through heritage and heritage alone. People who point to Jewish persons in power as evidence of a Jewish conspiracy aren't talking about their religious beliefs. They are looking at the last name. People who hate Jews hates all Jews--regardless of their religon or non-religion. And people who are atheists but have jewish heritage tend to consider themselves Jews. There is a reason why the Jewish people have lasted for so long. Its a Jewish glue that sticks.....you can't escape being Jewish.
Your mother has nothing to do with it. Your lineage goes by your father's seed. Not your mother's. Numbers 1:2 (NASB) says, "“Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head" Numbers 1:18 (NASB) says, "and they assembled all the congregation together on the first of the second month. Then they registered by ancestry in their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head," Numbers 1:28 (NASB) says, "Of the sons of Issachar, their genealogical registration by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war," Genesis 5 utterly destroys the notion that your mother carries any sort of line. It's always the father. You are not a Jew. You're a convert.
According to Judaism 101---you are Jewish according to your mother. I'm not saying I understand it....
I think if you are looking for an excuse to hate someone They can be Jewish regardless of belief in god or religious practice Hate is pretty flexible in that way
i can't be a convert, as I never converted to Judaism. just because the black hebrew israelites hate all white people, doesn't make them right.
They don't hate white people. They're simply quoting scripture and reminding Edomites of the evil they've done and continue to do. If pointing out your evils is considered racist, then why not just call everybody racist, including yourself. There's no such thing.
unlike the racist black hebrew israelites, i don't judge people and treat people based on the color of their skin. ive met the black hebrew israelites. they are a bunch of bigoted, ignorant pricks. they protested outside my college, Hunter college, back in 1999, and we kicked their asses. they never came back.
The OP confuses the descriptive as being prescriptive. Creatures do not choose from undetermined possibilities. God is necessary; everything else is contingent.
Ummmm it depends ... http://judaism.about.com/od/whoisajew/a/amijewish.htm http://judaism.about.com/od/whoisajew/a/whoisjewdescent.htm The Jewish religion doesn't only use the Torah the Talmud is actually more important its the day to day rulings and legal principles used in the faith for the conservative branches of the faith, so using that the mother determines the Jewish identity of the child but more modern branches if either parent is a Jew the child is considered Jewish.
Have you read the Talmud? Doesn't seem like you have. The evil stuff written in the Talmud is a joke, and it's proof that the Khazars are not real Jews. Like I said, the majority of them are atheists. None of that is needed.
According to Qchan, RIP from forum, You're not a jew unless you're African American. So take it for what it's worth.
You mean unless he has the Jewish chromosomes which indicate he is related t the people in Israel and Egypt back in 1360BC... right? You don't ignore the genetics which shows people are Jews.
And people wonder why I'm an Atheist when vicious religious infighting exists in the same faith we are supposed to take any of this seriously.
Regardless of any infighting or outfighting, if none of the discussions on this forum have any physical or financial impact on your private life, then there is logically no reason to take any of this stuff seriously. Has any of this stuff affected you either physically or financially?
Judaism 101 certainly exists. Pity you don't read. Here's a quote from the section regarding Marriage According to the non-traditional view, in the Bible the wife is treated as a possession owned by her husband,[16] but later Judaism imposed several obligations on the husband, effectively giving the wife several rights and freedoms;[16] indeed, being a Jewish wife was often a more favourable situation than being a wife in many other cultures.[16] For example, the Talmud establishes the principle that a wife is entitled, but not compelled, to the same dignity and social standing as her husband,[17][18] and is entitled to keep any additional advantages she had as a result of her social status before her marriage.[17][18]. And you are simply misquoting scripture for your own purposes. You've complained about the attitude of whites to blacks in the US. Did you know that out of every 100 black people killed last year in the US. 93% were killed by black people. 93 in every hundred.
Depends. Do you follow the precepts of the Torah, Midrash and Talmud? If yes, then yeah you're kinda Jewish. If not, then no.
The original and current Jewish definition of a born Jew is someone whose mother is Jewish. Even though the Torah forbids a Jewish woman to marry a Gentile man, if she does, her children will still be Jewish. The Torah also forbids a Jewish man to marry a Gentile woman, and if he does, his children by that woman will not be Jewish. There is no indication in the Torah that the Leader of the household passes along nationality. Tribal affiliation, yes, that was passed down by the father, but not nationality. Take Abraham. He and Sarah were 'converted' to being Jews when accepting God. Abraham had 2 sons. Isaac by Sarah, and Ishmael by Hagar. If Jewishness passed by the father then both sons should have been Jews. But Hagar was Egyptian and her son was not considered a Jew. So Jewishness (nationality) passes by the mother, tribal association by the father. It happens sometimes this way in the Bible. The information is somewhere on the web if you look. Mine is from notes and I didn't note where it came from.
I suppose there are different types of 'being a Jew'. You can be born a Jew. You can be one who superficially practices his beliefs You can be someone who strict in his religious practices and beliefs Or you can be a 'Kabbalistic' Jew who believes the Torah has much more to offer than it appears, and goes on to study its language, meaning of Jewish letters and numbers and other practices they believe will bring them closer to knowing/seeing the 'Face of the King'. YHWH. Try this from Brian L. Lancaster book 'The Essence of Kabbalah'. Talking about the Tower of Babel and Genesis 11:1 This verse depicts the pre Babel state of connection to the Shekkinah. According to Isaac of Acre, the 'words of oneness' mentioned in the verse are the 72 forms of the divine Name, comprising 216 letters in total. This name derives from three verses (Exodus 14:19-21) (I'm not going to print them) Each of these verses comprises 72 Hebrew letters. In Kabbalistic tradition the 72 triple letters are obtained by placing the middle verse in reverse order. Thus the first of the forms comprises the first letter of v19 (vav - Jewish letter), the last letter of verse 20(heh) and the firat letter of verse 21 (vav), giving the name vavu. Moses had been instructed to 'raise your staff and stretch your arm out over the sea and split it' (Exodus 14:16). The term uveka'eibu (and split it) is an anagram (hebrew) of baka vabu. The word baka means 'to split', leading the Kabbalists to understand that the meaning concealed in the verse is that Moses used the divine Name of 72 forms beginning with vabu. God brings about the miracle, but Moses instigates God's intervention through the use of this Name. And that's a simple bit of how the Kabbala works.
Archaeological record and genetic evidence both agree that is not so. Khazars were wiped out by Mongols and don't exist anymore Not that it makes any difference AFAICT anyway.
Are you sure ? the archeological record seems to indicate that many moved into Western Europe... and there are some scholars who claim that the Ashkenazis were Gog and Magog and have returned in large numbers to Palestine.. Its all controversial.
Abraham has another half dozen sons by Keturah.......... - - - Updated - - - So you think they were all killed by the Mongols? A Resource for Turkic and Jewish History in Russia and Ukraine http://www.khazaria.com/
i know that any so-called "scholar" who thinks the Ashkanezi Jews are really "Gog and Magog", is a bigoted fool and a liar.
