Congratulations Brtblutwo for best thread of the month. http://www.politicalforum.com/political-opinions-beliefs/421171-bernie-sanders-must-not-elected.html
I was just making some observations. Seems to me the thread winners are all left of center, while the average PF posters seems to be somewhat right of center. But I have no real right to complain since I have never submitted a thread or post here for this contest.
That is key. Look around for some good threads and posts and get others involved. This is members choice. Go for it.
I'll be on the lookout for some outstanding works of reason and insight here. Something from the right of center of course.
I don't understand the last sentence of the winning thread ie; "Bernie Sanders must not be elected, and if he is, he must be stopped to protect the status quo." Sarcasm? or am I missing something like a couple nights sleep ? reva
If I am not mistaken the status quo is that the US is the lone world Hyper power, the most powerful economy, and the best and brightest minds from around the world. Why should we change the status quo?
There are many admirable qualities about Sanders, but when it comes to campaign finance regulations, I see a potentially big problem with the government telling political candidates how they can spread their message. It could really leave the door open to abuse by those already in power. I agree that elections being decided by who can spend the most money is not a healthy thing, but the alternative could be even worse, much worse. Imagine for example if a Republican controlled government went after Democrats for spending too much, but looked the other way while Republican candidates spent too much.
Fargin-A, if you are going to be good at something, might as well be number one. I remember being so disappointed when the city I live in lost first place in venereal disease.
Your city should seek a federal grant and authorize big bucks for a Five-Year Plan to regain its status.
Debt means nothing when the whole world invests its capitol here, Many Corporations and Billionaires also have tremendous debt. Debt is meaningless when you are continually growing. Yes our bureaucracy is bloated, but nothing that is threatening.
St. Louis ranks #1 for chlamydia and #2 for gonorrhea in the nation. We need to try a little harder with gonorrhea, #2 is unacceptable...we will accept nothing short of #1, going forward. With pride in my heart...I can say
