Putin, after taking into account all the Russian citizens and the neighboring nations in ISIS, Russia's Duma immediately approved use of military force in Syria. Russia made a point that what they were doing was within international law, since it is at the request of President Assad, who is the legal authority in Syria. For the operation to start today, I gather he put forward a suggestion to coordinate Russia's actions with those of the US and its allies and they refused. Military engagement in Syria would not result in Russia being mired in conflict, Konstantin Kosachev, head of the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs, said commenting on the news. We would not risk getting stuck in a long conflict and threaten the lives of our troops. The operation is aerial only. Certainly, in coordination with the ground operation of the Syrian army, he told the Rossiya 24 news channel. Ivanov stressed that no ground operations are planned in Syria. Russia would use its warplanes to hit terrorist targets when requested by the Syrian government. He stressed that unlike the US-led coalition of countries that bombs militant troops in Syria, Russia was invited to do so by the legal authorities of Syria and thus follows international law. The military goal of the operation is strictly to provide air support for the [Syrian] government forces in their fight against Islamic State, he said. http://www.rt.com/news/317013-parliament-authorization-troops-abroad/
I posted a link in another thread on Syria, where it was reported that the Russians were attacked by rocket and mortar at their Tartus base. No f-n way Russia is going to sit there and take it. Nope they are going outside the wire for some payback. Brigade 810 rides!
Is that why Russia attacked Syrian Rebels and not ISIS today? My how the pawns are so easily led by the nose.
If you believe western media yes. Sources say. Officials say. Gotta believe that and ignore Russia's denials of that claim. This has the ring of propaganda to it imo. For my sins, I prefer demonstrable evidence, which I've yet to see, so I'll wait for that before jumping to conclusions.
I'd love to believe Russia's goal is to destroy ISIS. But this is just Russian imperialism, expanding their sphere of influence
The area attacked does not have ISIS units, but hey believe what you will, does not change the facts.
It's the facts I'm trying to get at. Please therefore provide the facts in support of your claim that ISIS have no units there. Facts not propaganda. If that's acceptable to you?
Look it up for yourself, Google, I am positive nothing I will provide will be acceptable to you so why should I waste the time.
Based on your post I frather stupidly concluded you were speaking from a position of absolute knowledge (the area attacked does not have ISIS units), but I now see you were simply spawning a combination of propaganda and opinion. Usually, opinions are prefaced with a caveat to advise the reader that the poster is stating opinion not fact. Propaganda, of course, is designed to fool the uncritical and unwary. Consider yourself duly duped and propagandized. Enjoy.
lol, Can you prove there is a difference between Syrian Rebels and ISIS, or are you a pawn too? - - - Updated - - - The American Imperialism list is longer than the Russian one. America Wins the Imperialism contest !!!!
