http://www.edgeboston.com/news/news/186835/dr_ben_carson_says_gay_marriage_will_lead_to_polygamy Well Hes not wrong. The support for gay marriage and itself in general has gotten more platforms to polygamists, pedophiles more recently, among others. I mean guys will disregard the all groups theory but its happened already with multiple different subjects so I think its a pretty good warning.
He obviously doesn't understand the ruling. But personally who cares about polygamy? Anyone dumb enough to want 3 wives should try having 1 for a while, I doubt more wives will still sound appealing.
According to some religions the "word of god" says it's OK for a man to have more than one wife. Curiously "god" never seems to say it's OK for a woman to have more than one husband? This leads me to suspect that this is more about the wants of men than the "word of god" but if god just happens to agree, I guess everything's just hunky dory?
Not really. Until a majority of states recognize that polygamy is valid, it will not happen. Utah and Arizona, where most of the Fundamentalists of Latter Day Saints reside, will determine whether or not polygamy would be acceptable legally. - - - Updated - - - That would be China, historically, and the Amazon warriors in Greek mythology.
Nothing wrong with polygamy, provided everybody involved gives informed consent. Not sure why anti-gay people keep waving polygamy around like it's some horrible thing. Probably wouldn't be that common even if legal. I'd probably like it, but it was hard enough to find one sane and appealing partner, let alone two who would be into that.
And if it does.....so? If those significant others are of legal consenting age and can deal with multiple wives or husbands then good for them. Could've sworn polygamy was already openly practiced in some aspects of American life though.
and incest-type marraige. 2 consenting adults as the gay said. breeding is not allowed to be used as a determining factor of marriage the gays said gross is not allowed to be used against them as gays said. how does it affect you as the gay said.
Carson thinks polygamists are gay? Gays are polygamists??That is the only way he could come to such a brain dead conclusion and even that doesn't work very well. Carson strikes me as someone who just plain hates anyone who isn't him.
the ole "if you don't support us, you HATE us" argument. Never fails when a liberal is threatened by someone, start accusing them of a phobia
If a person wants to take away/oppose freedom for Americans it's pretty much the same as hate....the result is the same and what would the motivation be if NOT hate? Yes, Repubs accept restricting the freedom of Americans .....(until it affects them)
Joseph Mengele's, oh I mean Ben Carson's sanctimoniousness is nauseating. I believe in the union of one man and one woman, but Carson pontificates an awfully lot He wants to rally the extreme religious right to his side.
are you a bigot for wanting to take away/oppose freedom for polygomists, incest? do you hate them because you don't support polygomy or the difintion of marraige to include a brother/sister or mother/son, etc? congrats, you are now a supporter of traditional marraige and you didn't even realize it yet.
There have been studies that have shown a parent/child relationship to be harmful psychologically. If you have studies that show differently, show them and let's discuss. I have no problem with letting a brother marry his sister in that regard as well as polygamy. However, from what you have proven you aren't really interested in honest discussion on the matter and only use it to incite or insult. Pretty lame on your part.
Well, like him or not,Dr Carson is correct. Once the boundaries of Marriage were removed, and changed to something that anyone can define for themselves by what they want...well you cant pick and choose who's wants are valid and whos are not. Love cannot be picked up and examined, so it cannot be claimed it only supports two.related or not. Now Marriage is a thing that everyone has a "right " to...and if your wants dont fit the container...well the container needs to be expanded for added inclusion. The instant meaning of the word Marriage is now gone.
When there are posters that call homosexuals an abomination, yes they are anti-gay. When people such as yourself are wanting to "change" homosexuals to stop having gay sex or "turn straight", yes you are anti-gay.
Interestingly enough "marriage" used to only be for white males in America, and has been changed ever since. So the "instant" meaning has been gone for hundreds of years now.
What business does the government have in restricting the actions of consenting adults? Why don't you Christofascists just lock yourselves into you militia compounds and run you own little micro-theocracies and they rest of us can live in freedom?
Involved is not the same thing as Meaning. Sorry guys, not going to work. When you asked people what a Marriage was...none of them ever thought "White Male"..lol. Man + Woman.
abomination would be the correct use of the word but you are offended by the correct use of the word. The word "abnormal" as well as "deviant" are also correct terms. I do not want to turn anyone straight who likes living the gay lifestyle and wants to continue. For those who do realize their error, and want to live a "normal" lifestyle, I fully support services which help those folks kick the habit and revert back to heterosexual.
Yes during a time it was thought of as a Man +Woman of the same race. Sorry, you are flat out wrong. - - - Updated - - - The fact you think it is an "error" makes it an anti-gay stance. Sorry you don't like the truth but that's tough luck for you. Facts are facts, why do you hate them? So are you saying that if I call Christianity an abomination, other Christians would not consider that anti-Christian?
