I am not vegetarian or vegan, per se, but I do not eat meat from livestock (beef, chicken, pork, lamb, etc), dairy, or egg, but I doo eat fish/seafood and wild game. Since you can not buy wild game meat, and I can only get it if I hunt it myself, for most of the year, my diet is a cross between Vegan and Pescetarian (eats fish but not meat), but since I do not have access to fresh seafood year round in Indiana (I only eat organiic foods), I often stick mainly to a vegan diet more often than not.
I hope you are aware that you are restricting your diet at a substantial risk to you health. I also hope that the restrictive diet has not already damaged your brain to the point that you can no longer accept that the malnutrition may be causing irreversible damage to your body and personal environment.
For starters, B12. Generally, vegetarians are very unhealthy people for a reason. And BTW, pig fat is very nutritious.
B12 we get very very easily. You see we are clever people and fortify our cereal and our almond/oat milk with it Vegetarians are generally healthier people than the average pig fat is very high in calories.only useful for staving off an arctic winter I wonder why then that vegatarians live longer than meat eaters if we are so unhealthy http://time.com/9463/7-reasons-vegetarians-live-longer/ Veggy men get to live almos a decade longer than you pork guzzling slobs
the american journal of clinical nutrition says I am right and you are wrong http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/81/6/1267.full where do you get your facts the Missouri Bible school?
No , but apparently your ridiculous source did. The first sentence of the abstract proves it to be bunk. You need not read past that one sentence to know it is noting but bunk. The beginning of it debunks the entire article. No need to read any further. Where did I get my facts? 1) My clients' weekly food diaries. 2) My clients' skinfold measurements. The fact of the matter is that vegetarians tend to be obese. Usually the skinny-fat type of obesity is their downfall. (Technically "normal-weight obesity" in medical parlance). BMI is a simple height to weight measurement. It cannot ever in any way measure a subject's percentage of adipose tissue, therefore cannot be used to distinguish whether a subject is obese. That is something dumb(*)(*)(*)(*)s simply can't comprehend. I'm a professional nutritionist, dietitian and personal trainer, you're not. Nor is your source.
Yes teh american journal of clinical nutrition is debunked by a personal trainer...yes of course and his evidence is his clients who are fat people to begin with. don;t really understand the scientific notion of a self selecting sample. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/a...-better-weight-loss-plans-say-scientists.html there is your personal testimony as a Bible believing american or there is science. Please link me to any study not from some US bible college that claims vegans /vegetarians are fatter than the average
I am not vegan or vegetarian, but my diet includes aspects of both. I do not consume dairy, eggs, or honey. I also do not consume meat from livestock (beef, pork, chicken, lamb/mutton, etc...) I eat seafood, and I eat meat from wild game. I eat only organic, whole foods. Because I live in Indiana, and fresh seafood and game is not available year round, I am basically a dietary vegan most of the year, and only eat meat/seafood when it is available. I also do not consume sugar, except those naturally found in fruits. I use stevia (grown in my herb garden) as a sweetener. It is much sweeter than suger, but has a negligible effect on blood sugar. I also am gluten free, sticking to rice, corn, oats, buckwheat, and other gluten free grains. I also abstain from wearing leather, silk and other fabrics, and using other products made from livestock.
Ovo-Lacto vegetarians are usually pretty healthy, since they still eat dairy and eggs. Vegans are the ones who are generally unhealthy, since vegetation alone does not have the nutrients to sustain us, as omnivores. We need meat.
BMI is not a proportion of body fat to muscle mass. It is height to weight ratio, dumbass. Therefore the article you linked to is bunk. I noticed that in the first sentence, why didn't you?
Personally, I just follow the animal world. Animals eat plants and there are some 583 carnivorous plants. So everyone should eat what they want. Yup, we need meat but we don't need certain groups campaigning against meet eaters.
Your killing more animals with your diet than I am with mine. I can buy a quarter of a cow which is ONE animal and it fills two freezers and is meat for over a month and a half. By the way that is 1/4 of a cow so that is split between four of us. Meanwhile tens of thousands of sentient creatures are killed on ever acre of farmland during harvest time in fact the FDA has permissible amounts of animal remains allowed for crops. I get why some vegetarians or vegans want to have their diets because they think its healthier or they just don't like meat but the argument that it is less harmful to animals is just flat out wrong.......its far more harmful than fishing or buying into a cow. The only difference is you don't see the rabbits, birds, rodents etc. that are killed for your diet.
I refuse to eat most livestock, but I still eat game meat and wild seafood. Livestock in the US is blatantly mistreated. You have chickens shoved in tiny cages to lay eggs, cows beaten and tortured.....I will eat livestock only if I know for sure that the animals were raised and slaughtered as humanely as possible. And I tend to avoid dairy and eggs in general just because they are not that healthy.
Go in with some others or just yourself if you have lots of freezer space and buy into a cow or pig. You can pick out the animal at a farm that you feel comfortable with. You get tons of meat at a cheaper price than buying it separately from the market and you know how it was treated and handled. I used to eat tons of fish all the time but with all the ocean pollution and the big warning signs all over the fish markets about eating to much i have cut back dramatically and since I am definitely not giving up on meat I had to find alternatives. Venison is great as well although you still have to mix it with beef or pork since its too lean for most recipes by itself.
Vegetarianism can be very healthy. Even veganism if you do it right. ...soy is not doing it right. Soy is terrible for you. Make sure you have a good iodine suppliment, for starters. Seaweed/kelp and lots of it. And don't be afriad to sneak the bacon now and then... ...thats right, we know all about it
Eggs in particular are incredible for health. I know a lot of vegetarians, and I find that those who have a rule "I can eat any meat I catch and slaughter myself" are the best sort.
By the time you get all your ammo, clean your rifles, buy the beer and food and walk around in the woods on chilly rainy days you will have spent more. You also still have to pay for processing which is included in my cow.
