How much does Obama cherish this country, it's military and those that have spent their blood and treasure in loyalty to America? In all the years since June 6, 1944 D-Day there is one president that has failed to memorialize the heroes who initially stormed the shores of Normandy. More than 10,000 Americans, Canadian, and British died that fateful day in their efforts to free Europe of the Nazi scourge. Barack Hussein Obama has refused to honor these heroes seven times. One has to wonder why? For the last 72 years presidents have paid tribute to the fallen soldiers killed on this day. This year just like the other six before, instead of honoring these soldiers, Obama made the trip to Hiroshima on Air Force One to apologize to the Japanese people for using the first nuclear bomb to hasten the end of WWII. Thus saving at least one million lives of both Japanese and American.
The bomb didn't hasten anything. The Japanese didn't even care that we dropped it until the awful aftermath of radiation became apparent. The firebombing of Tokyo was much more deadly than both bombs combined and they didn't stop then. They surrendered because their final hope of a conditional surrender were thwarted by the Soviets breaking their neutrality.
I wasn't referring to August 6th 1945. The Op-Ed was about the anniversary of June 6th, 1944. Please pay attention. That is unless you intend to deflect the issue and dishonor the brave men that died that fateful day along with this president that has repeatedly dishonored America's military.
Eh, fair enough. I don't care about dishonoring the military, I just care about respecting people who died in the same of fighting fascism, but respecting those groups overlaps in this case, so we have no beef.
Maybe while he was there, he should have visited the memorial to Unit 731. He and Hillary could have visited the graves of the Americans killed at Benghazi, at the very least.
Wait...what about all the other embassies that were sacked. Shouldn't he visit each and every one of those?
If you goal is to fundamentally transform your new bride, you not only do not love her, you don't even like her very much.
I think that's a bit distorted... Hiroshima and Nagasaki were both chosen for their value as a military target. The bombs took out Japan's ability to fight back. Russia tore up her non-aggression pact with Japan on the same day Nagasaki was bombed, and invaded the Japanese-held Chinese territory of Manchuria, where the Japanese were conducting unspeakable atrocities. The Japanese of yesteryear were not like our friends of today - they did need to be stopped. While the firebombing may have been fierce, most credit the triple shock of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and the new front against Russia coming together to take Japan down.
How much does Obama cherish this country Not much. Obama has never liked the American military or those who have served, especially U.S. Marines. Obama claimed he had a white uncle who served during WW ll and liberated Auschwitz which is in Poland so they say. So I suppose Obama's uncle was serving in Comrade Josephs Stalins Soviet army. It was the Soviets who liberated Auschwitz, they use to teach that before liberal revisionist history became the agenda in our schools. Or it was just Obama making (*)(*)(*)(*) up again known as lying.
The Japanese High Command was meeting long before they knew Nagasaki was hit and they waited too long after Hiroshima for that to have been the cause of their surrender (it certainly wasn't urgent if they didn't say a word about surrender for three days). The atomic bombs dropped on Japan were fruitless war crimes against civilian populations that plunged the world into a new era of fear.
Indeed, citing the nuclear warheads was seen more as an "honorable front" for the Japanese than to say outright "Yeah, we got our asses kicked and now the Soviets want some while we're down." Surrendering to the US gave them protection from the Soviets, because that would lead to direct conflict with the US and the Soviets knew they weren't prepared/ready for that. And luckily, it never came to that. I think we can both agree how horrible a war of nuclear powers would be.
If Obama cherishes America, why does he and has he tried to "Fundamentally Transform America"? He certainly hasn't made things better...
Why would any groom or bride want to transform their spouse from the outset? That the best formula to a failed marriage. Obama has proved that in spades.
Obama honored D-Day fallen in Normandy in 2009 when he dedicated the new visitor center at the US Military Cemetery. He has in fact been at D-Day ceremonies in Normandy twice, the only US President to do so.
Go away - this is a good old fashioned circle jerk of Obamaphobia orgasmic self-flagellation - facts are not welcome here.
So Wehrwolfen your OP is kind of trashed here isn't it. That's the risk you run when you post chain emails, don't check the facts, don't know recent history and don't even watch the damn news. So, how many times have you been to D-Day in Normandy?
If that makes you happy, Casuality, roll in it. History and a whole lot of people who were living at the time do not agree.
