Red meat does not put fat on your body but whole grains (complex carbohydrates) do and Type II diabetes is a big killer. Before government got involved everyone knew that when you ate bread and butter it was not the butter that made you fat.
You are clueless. That is why many high brow diets like Atkins,Fail in the long term. The body has to have carbs.Just like it needs protein. But there is also a condition known as Protein poisoning. If yer stuck in the wilderness and think eating only rabbit will sustain you, you'd be mistaken. Rabbit is all lean meat.Basically all protein and no fat. Eat only rabbit and yer body will break down and you will die. As far as butter,it is the leading cause of fatness.Look at Amish woman who exist off a lot of doughy stuff with huge amounts of butter & sugar. Those Amish woman are Huge.
When I was very young I worked in my fathers Butcher shop, we ate meat all the time. My cousin worked in his fathers shop as well, we were very close and he continued his beef eating habits all his life. I always worried, this guy ate beef everyday. I said really Mitch I do not believe that's too good for you. Well, at age 59 he died of Colon Cancer what a shame. I miss my friend, enjoy your Beef I do. Just remember everybody MODERATION and check ups. Aside from the Colon Cancer Mitch was as healthy as a horse, never sick, strong as a mule, 6' 4'' and very athletic. The big Lug hated going to the Doctor though, had he gone for check ups they would have caught it. Like I said,,,I miss my friend...
Where did I say you shouldn't eat carbohydrates or only eat meat? The kind of fat you eat makes a difference but carbs are stored as fat easily, because insulin causes excess glucose in your blood to be stored as fat in various cells. There are a lot of healthier ways to get carbs than processed grains. Carbs are the leading cause of weight gain. Relying on fat for calories has benefits over being predominately reliant on carbs. A primary one is that eating more fat leads to great satiety/fullness over time, and hence, you aren't eating as many calories. Eating vegetables is important and an important way to get needed nutrients but exercise is also important. Yep, eating a high carb diet "with butter" will make you fat. The notion that butter causes weight gain is a sad misconception. The short and medium chain fatty acids in butter are not stored in the adipose tissue, but are used for quick energy. Fat tissue in humans is composed mainly of longer chain fatty acids. These come from olive oil and polyunsaturated oils as well as from refined carbohydrates. Look at The French? Slim. What do they eat? Saturated fats such as butter. No heart disease, it wans’t called the French paradox for no reason. Look at the Greeks. Overweight. In fact, Greece is number 5 in the world in obesity. What do they eat? Lots of grains and mounounsaturated fats such as olive oil and avoados which are higher in calories. Butter is rich in nutrients, it confers a feeling of satisfaction when consumed. You are less likely to overeat.
Uncle Ferd gonna live forever from readin' all dem comic books while eatin' Granny's fried chicken... Study: Reading May Extend Lifespan August 08, 2016 - That reading is good for your brain has been known for a long time, but a new study shows that picking up a book regularly could lengthen your life. See also: To Live Longer, Eat More Chicken and Plant-based Protein August 07, 2016 - The traditional American diet is full of red meat - steaks and hamburgers and processed meat. That's where many Americans get their protein. As this diet becomes more popular in other countries, heart disease becomes more common, too. Now, new research shows that when people depend less on animal protein and replace it with plant protein, they can expect to live longer, healthier lives.
The USDA is in league with farmers of whom the beef producers have the most powerful lobby. It's a conflict of interest to represent both the producer (farmers) and customer (US consumers) at the same time. Some of their advice in the past has been thoroughly horrible. A good example was to reduce fat by replacing butter with margarine. At the time margarine contained trans fats and became the largest source of trans fats in American diets.
Funny you should say that, I have pronounced TOD on many health nuts, most died of MI , congestive heart failure, people in really great shape, good overall health, at their target weight etc....under 30 years old, non smokers, non drinkers....... . funny how that works.
I am not sure I understand what you mean. What exactly is your point with regards to red meat? Sorry, I'm not intelligent enough to understand what people are saying sometimes.
Because being a health nut caused them to over do, or because they knew they were at high risk for premature death do to a known risk factor like family history and became health nuts hoping to lifestyle their way around their premature demise?
Its not the meat. Its overcooking the meat. When fat gets too hot, it turns from good fat (the kind that makes your skin flexible and that your brain is made of) to bad fat (the kind that clogs in your arteries). We started our journey to modern man by eating RAW meat which, among other things, made us smarter. But it was ladden with parasites. Which wasnt a big deal because we were also eating mildly poisonous fruits and vegetables that didnt kill us, but did kill most of the parasites. But the poison was rough on our livers and kidneys and shortened our lifespans. Then we started cooking (because we were smarter). When or why folks started charring their freaking meat, I still dunno. If its not still bleeding when you bite into it, you cooked it too much. You dont have to char your food to kill the stuff that might be in it.
Digesting meat can be problematic if you dont have the right bacteria in your gut. Its a good idea to eat different kinds of yogurts, keifers, and other fermented or 'soured' foods on a regular basis and take probiotics now and then to keep the most variety of gut bacteria to get the most nutrients out of your food.
