This is a very sad case of anti-fat discrimination. Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Not the all-you-can-eat buffet of buffets anyway. "I haven't been able to use this treadmill since my knee injury"
Because the airlines took him one way they had an obligation for the return flight. If a person has to sit in two seats, the person has to pay for 2 seats. If that person wants two hamburgers that person has to pay for two hamburgers.
Having to sit between two very large people on a flight once I get it. Either lose some weight or buy two seats.
I don't mind getting squished on by a big fat fattie as long as she's clean and not one of those "super size" BBW's with disgusting cellulite.
Exactly. I know some overweight people that do just that. If they are a regular airlines, they buy first class which has bigger seats, if they are on Southwest, they buy two seats.
I don't mind going 'business class' or lifting the armrest so we can be closer but if she needs more than one seat for herself then I'm out of there.
Or .. an entirely practical matter. If you're so fat that you can no longer use equipment designed and built for the already generous range of human 'average', it's no one's fault but your own.
Does not matter. If you can not sit in one seat and have to use two, you pay for two. Why do people think they can inconvenience other people and think it is ok.
I agree with you but I'm not blaming the "fatties." My nephew is no "fatty." He's 6'5" and is "down" to 315 pounds since his college days. His hips measure 24" across and his chest, expanded is over 60". He needs 2 seats on an airplane and pays for them. I too use two seats for different reasons. Severe back and neck issues require that I "exercise" almost constantly on flights over 1 hour. Twisting, leaning, rotating, stretching to keep one part or another from "locking" during the flight. I pay for both seats. While I empathize with "girthy" people that does not give them the right to abuse the system or cost the airline fares.
A couple of years ago I was seated next to an obese guy in coach. His right shoulder and arm overlapped into my space for the entire flight. Not really wanting to rub against the guy, I found myself leaning to the right for the 2 hr flight. Try doing that sometime. Worst flight I've ever taken. If you take up more than one seat, you should pay for two seats.
I do not think there should be an inconvenience, or that it does not matter, I see how the Airlines treat people like crap and criminals and get away with it and charge high prices too, in any case, those people do not inconvenience you, they inconvenience the paid Airlines that should have accommodation for larger passengers, since everyone is a paying customer.
Obviously if you need two seats you should pay for two seats. And obviously no one should be kicked out of a plane for no reason. Don't most people have the sense to grasp these two simple things? The guy said he was perfectly willing to pay for two seats.
Stuff and mount the airlines, how many over size passengers do you ever see on a flight, 4, 5, tops ? have over sized seating to accommodate them, stop feeling sorry for stupid airlines that treat passengers like dirt.
I don't fly. Last time i flew to Utah to see my in-laws our flight was delayed and eventually canceled. The airline refused to refund the money they instead offered a flight to Atlanta three months later. So we drive now.
You cannot drive to the places I have gone, I probably will not need to fly anymore after 2012... most likely.... I know how to deal with Airlines, I have done well getting refunds and free flights.
I don't like dealing with them. And should i get my dream ture of Europe I'll fly. But as long as i can drive i will
I enjoyed Europe ! The best is fly to London, get on a train, go through the tunnel into France, see Paris, and travel on Eurail, the Orient Express, really nice ! The trains are the best way to travel and see Europe, I hate guided Tours !
Yeah, one place i really want to see is Germany. Switzerland would be nice all of the UK. I think i need a month there.
Ha ! a month is NOT enough to see and appreciate Switzerland ! My first trip to Switzerland, I was 13, what a trip !!!!
