    Just to set a good example, let's begin with all those draft dodging illegal Israelis and Russians living in the Northeast.

    Once they are gone and we see that the government means business, I'm sure all else will gladly leave voluntarily.

    I guess it depends on how you define compassion. Also, I've read the Constitution numerous times - I guess I missed the section on compassion. Can you please cite that one for me?

    First we had slaves, then in the free states we had the indentured whites from England, the Scots, the Poles, the Irish, the Germans, Bohemians, Italians, Jews, Russians, Spaniards, Chinese, Japanese and through it all, we always had some nice Mexicans in the lands formerly known as Mexico that were taken from Mexico in an act of war we call the Mexican-American War. You see, we took TX, NM, AZ, CA and parts of UT, CO and NV from Mexico by force. We did the same thing to the Hawaiians. We did the same thing to the Phillipinos, the Puerto Ricans and islands in the Pacific. At least we did pay for Alaska, they called it Seward's Folly.

    I worked in fast food when I was a teenager. That's who those unskilled jobs are meant for. Your analogy to slavery is moot. Slavery was an involuntary institution; crossing the border illegally to obtain illegal employment is voluntary.

    Actually we used the law. Ironically, we are now ignoring the law - and to the the same end: a permanent underclass easily exploitable for profit and political gain.

    We do not need a wall. We need to simply enforce the IRCA of 1986. It is a good law, but it is roundly ignored by all in power.

    Would that it were. Perhaps you saw in my OP where I closed my comments by stating "we get the government we deserve."

    They have empathy for men who want to be women and also want to use a woman's bathroom.

    They lose all empathy when it comes to the mothers of dead Americans murdered or killed by illegal aliens.

    It seems that many who hold elected office and some of their defenders do want exactly that.
