My grandfather came to the US from Poland at 7 years old. He became quite well known in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When he passed away the states largest newspaper printed a full page obituary.

 

I propose the country be divided into states that represent the 2 parties. St Martin is a good example of the 2 country or 2 state system working in harmony. Half of the island is Dutch, half is French. They have a border between the 2 countries. Only way you would know you are in a different country is there is a sign. The Dutch and the French each have their own government, money and laws in St. Martin. But they don't try and tear each other down.

If the US split up what will happen if the Democratic States of America (DSA) take down all borders and the Republican States of America (RSA) wake up one day to find out the DSA are now populated will invaders from Russia or China that are not citizens of America that are planning a takeover of the RSA?

It is a likely scenario, the dems will go to any lengths to bring down society. Isn't that what happened in CA? The dems let illegals come into CA without controls, Obama let CA do as it liked. One day the rest of the country woke up and CA was gone. This underscores the need for a binding joint Constitution between the DSA and the RSA.

I have to correct myself. I have a lot of experience with the Muslims. However, I found that Iranians are the best of the bunch. I have even met some nice Iranians. They were all political extremists but they were rather nice and civil if we didn't talk about politics. Afghanis can be okay too. Even some Pakistanis. But the Arabs are the worst. THese are the ones I was referring to when I said they are mean. I have only met one nice Arab in my life, the rest of the bunch were mean as hell with an awful sense of religious superiority.

 

Where are you getting this idea from? Can you point to anyone supporting refugees in general but specifically refusing to accept them in their own neighbourhood. Note that there happening to be no refugees living where they live isn’t the same thing. As has been made quite clear in this thread, the division of where people live is based much more on income than anything else.

Oh, I think most people able perfectly clear on how dumb this is.

Would that mean that when the Trump administration quietly starts accepting refugees again, they should all be sent to where his voters live? Or maybe we should recognise the refugee program as a human policy and let the refugees live with other humans?

No. I think liberals will accept some refugees to live in their neighborhoods, a small minority of refugees, but not a lot. There is a limit to the number they will live with, which is a problem.

This morning on NPR they were highlighting the exceptions...all those poor Kenyan refugees. They were interviewing one father with 5 kids who's dream was to move to Texas. Texas? How amazing. Why not San Francisco, Chicago, New Hampshire or Vermont? No English, by the way, because there was a translator. No particular valuable skills to highlight either. Because if he was a doctor or engineer, it would have been mentioned obviously. So, why is it our obligation to take a family that will go on welfare on day 1? And right to Republican state to boot.

Was I sad listening? A little. I don't like hearing that people suffer. But my logic center kicked in quickly and wondered what purpose and value he would bring. I really couldn't think of anything, besides more diversity and that doesn't make our economy better. And economy is ALL that matters right now. Feelings, warm fuzzies, taking care of others? Sorry, thats simply NOT important at all right now. EU is right around the corner, so why doesn't he want to bring his family there since they are so superior to us?

Clooney is even worse presuming to lecture europeans about refugees and why they should spend untold sums to house and feed them while owning multiple mansions in europe which usually stand empty.

He could house hundreds of refugees but helps none while demanding others do so

Our opinions are formed primarily from our life experiences.

I got sent to work in another country for 2 years, & it was very interesting to experience somewhat the feeling of being different, or being a minority.
Language barriers, driving barriers, being looked at like a zoo animal at the apartment.
The other American & myself would go to a UK bar on Weds.evening to drink some Guinness & watch some soccer.
The place was like a star base.
People from many different countries watching soccer & drinking massive amounts of very large beers.
Then around 11:00 pm, most would leave, get on bicycles and weave home.
It was only later that I found out you were not permitted to ride a bike drunk.
I had seen people pushing bikes, but just thought the bike was broke.
Every Weds., my friend and I would pass a police station, completely hammered & say konbanwa to the two officers standing out front.
They would nod and sort of smile.
It wasn't worth their while to arrest us or even tell us we were idiots.

And that was just a flashback. Has nothing to do with the subject matter.

I couldn't care less about their religious state.

They can move to my neighborhood, but they may not want to stay. Around here, you assimilate, or you leave. And assimilate doesn't necessarily mean you have to believe as everyone else does (because I don't, and I've been here 17 years), it means you accept there are certain things like religion, customs and foods that you aren't used to, and you give them due respect, and you'll be pretty much left alone.

Unfortunately, most 'refugees' (or immigrants) don't understand that concept.

 

You can let them bunk with your daughter or wife at night. You have the room and resources. ,right ?

 

They are not brought in as refugees, but as permanent immigrants.

 

They would have the same bunk rights with my daughters & wife as you would.......none.

Exactly. Liberals seem to be hell bent on destroying the economy/country and culture of this great country. In my view, its common sense to let the immigrants either sink or swim. No welfare for immigrants.

Another thing is the moral principles that built this land were to take the best, now we take the worst.

My daughters always picked who they dated, not me.
I always welcome their boyfriends to my home.
All were respectful, as was I.
On occasion I was curious about tatoo meanings, so I would ask.
Or dreads. I told one dude his dreads kinda reminded me of a mullet, which just left him speechless. But he took it well.
Sometime they could not figure out why I was blasting EDM music in the garage when they arrived, so they asked.
