I've no doubt the information obtained from the arguably permissible surveillance of Trump's team was maliciously disclosed in an unsuccessful effort to smear the President. It is obvious to me already, lefties still think there will be some bombshell revelation from all this investigating.

The information disseminated to smear Trump has nothing to do with Russia or any effort to manipulate the elections.

The prospect of such perfidy - given that the FBI, CIA, and NSA reached the conclusion that there was a Russian scheme to hurt Clinton and help Trump - is a matter concerning which I do not speculate. The obvious reason that there are now ongoing investigations into Russian subversion of a US election, possibly to assist a candidate Putin preferred and hurt one he opposed, is that no firm conclusion had been drawn prior to the election.

Nor is it within the purview of US intelligence services to "not allow" a candidate to become president. It is their responsibility to deliver their findings to the Department of Justice and they determine whether further action is warranted.
