OK. You are allowed to make snide remarks and no one is allowed to mock you for it? Got it.

Which is why I advocated for mandatory male sterilisation - especially if said male has been named as father for multiple births to multiple women

What? You only want women sterilised??????

    Rape goes both ways

Not as common to hear of male rape unless it is male on male but it has happened

But consent to sex is NOT consent to pregnancy and the male does have an onus to prevent pregnancy as well

And there are many for whom the cost of RELIABLE birth control is excessive and unaffordable

A significant percentage of women seeking abortions were practicing a form of birth control and were in a stable relationship prior to requiring the abortion.

Abortion rates HAVE fallen in recent decades but mostly because reliable birth control has become more affordable

Please provide me with the RELIABLE methods of birth control where you find their costs to be excessive and not affordable. Do you have a source for your claim that a significant percentage of women seeking abortions were practicing a form of birth control and were in stable relationships prior to abortion? I will remind you that the births this OP is talking about were covered by insurance. Are you claiming they did not have access to affordable birth control? Do Australians normally advise other countries on what type of health insurance should be provided?

More than half of the population in 24 states is having babies under Medicaid.

Well to me that says there's a poverty problem across half the states. It's like with taxes only half the population pays taxes. If half the population is in poverty who benefits from our business climate?? Perhaps the wealth isn't trickling down and we need to provide for half the population though social safety nets??? Since the top half must pay for the bottom half anyway is it time for universal income????

    Knock yourself out

I am not American so it is difficult for me to get accurate numbers on this all I do know is what I have read in research papers and in reading around reproductive rights

Good would hate to think that only women were to be the target of such draconian interventions

I think he read that 1% pay 50% of the taxes and assumed that all tax rates are equal.
I practiced enough abstinence(and a little birth control) to not father any children until I was 26 years old. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but my wife and I decided to abstain until we were married. It helped that we lived 500 miles apart until we were married,(long story) but we have been married for over 25 years and all is well.

Yes. Any responsible male that doesn't want a child should use condoms. And the woman should be very sure he's doing it right.

Assssnnnnd the failure rate for "typical" use of condoms is 17% (varies from source to source but 17 is around the quoted average) That is 17 out of 100 women will get pregnant

Now who will not use concoms correctly? Answer - the proportion of society which are from the shallower end of the gene pool!!

How many people answering the poll claimed they used a condom but never did? Is this the same group that unanimously agreed Hillary would win in a landslide. :)

From the first search in google.

"14. Incorrect storage: Between 3.3 percent and 19.1 percent of people in the studies had stored condoms in conditions outside of the recommendations on the package. While perfect condom use has a 98 percent success rate at preventing pregnancy, errors can increase the risk of breakage, slippage or other condom failure."

The non idiots have a 2% failure rate. And just to be sure, when me and my Future wife were dating we Didn't have sex during certain times of the month to curb risk.

Of the top 10 only 1 was a state controlled by Democrats.
Of the top 25 20 were controlled by Republicans with most of them NOT expanding Medicaid.

The expansion of Medicaid provided healthcare to millions who could not afford it. Having the government provide this assistance was part of the package from the beginning.

It's none of your business who has sex with whom, nor how they have sex. Nor is it your business to care for the results. They're grown ups.

So get onboard with the Republicans and maybe there will be enough, the Democrats didn't do anything and certainly aren't proposing anything now.

The American Progress link was about conditions before all of the ACA rules for birth control went into effect. Thus your cost argument was not addressed.

The Forbes link was about "what might happen" to birth control costs if the Trump health care package was passed. So it was a hypothetical answer to your cost argument and as the Trump plan is now dead, so is your argument.

As to the demographics of women seeking abortions, browsing through the guttmacher site, there were too many articles with the data spread over many articles, so you can just mark me as skeptical for now. ;)

How much more affordable does it need to be and there are exponentially more places than PP to get birth control.

It's not the before support it's the after support that men who father children out of wedlock need to be held accountable for STRICTLY accountable while of course holding the mothers as accountable.

It's amazing how that demand side failed after the Democrats took the Congress in 2007 after such success with the Gingrich/Kasich supply side tax rate cuts and the Bush43 supply side tax rate cuts.

The old religious shame technique hasn't worked for decades. Time for the dinosaurs to try something new.
