I likes Germany and some like biggest in at least economy in EU we all willing UK and France to leaving EU Project....
I doubt it. Without France there is no ue. I think it's time to throw a final chance to euro zone. Integration, status quo or exit ue. Double or nothing. Stake it all. To all countries.
While the EU, in theory, is good; the EU as it currently stands serves the interests of Germany and basically no-one else. Will France leave the EU? No, Le Pen will not win and she is the only candidate even talking about leaving.
Today their is two politician who ask for a major change in the EU. Marine Le Pen (far right) : She is in a long time eurosceptic parti. She simply want to leave EU and euro. Jean Luc Mélenchon (far left) : He want to negociate but he says "If you want to negociate, you have to have something to negociate, things aren't bearable anymore for french people and either EU change or we leave". The far left was a long time convinced by the EU. However between the EU utopia and the reality their is a big gap. I believe in democracy. I think 80 % of french problem have roots in french parliamant and political system, however I'm more and more worried of what become EU. Asking for less sovereinty is for me asking for less democracy.
Their is a high risk. Some reasons are internal to France. Their is a lot of corruption in France and people start to reject massively the classical europhile elites. Furthermore, the french said "no" to the european consitutionnal treaty in 2005, despite that the french president N.Sarkozy ratified this treaty (without asking anything to the french). Their is a lot of unemployement, meanwhile, a lot of foreigner work in France and the problem is not that they work in France, but they are paid in France with the wage of their native country, something the native can stand with because those people who are paid with those wage don't have to pay a rent. France state was always extremly present, even before the revolution and the invention of marxism. The hospitals are managed by the state, the schools too. It worked well for a long time. The hospital staff suffer a lot. They represent 2 million people. The french state is the second contributor to EU budget after germany, so some french think "why should we pay for the EU if we are already in struggle to pay our own debt ?". Furthermore their is some ideas, some wrong, some right, that nowodays a lot of french leader just take their orders from Berlin (it's false and a little bit true), that the union was done for germany but unadapted to the french economy.
Something to not forget : If France leave EU, they leave to the shengen zone probably. It could create problems for Italy, Spain and Portugal.
What makes you think Brexit is a fiasco? It seems to be trucking along reasonably well, certainly better than forecast.
As an EU citizen, do you feel you understand the EU: how it functionally works, who is representing you, who is in charge and how laws or regulations are made? I mean, every country gets a veto, right? But who in your country decides whether to trigger the veto on your behalf? And in what areas do you get a veto and in what areas does the EU just go on majority representation? I'm asking more about how confident you feel your working knowledge is of these things,
Not deeply. I know somethings are voted by the european parliamants, somethings decided by some commissions whose members are not always named in a clear way. However, I think worldwide, outside and inside the EU their is a crisis of democracy, especially representative democracy. The system who want you elect some people then hope they maybe keep their promises lived long enough for me. It's time for more direct democracy like in swiss. I don't trust any parliamant members, either the one of french parliamant or the one the european one. Furthermore, I trust in EU project, but not centered around money and trade. Trade are good, but I don't believe in free-trade. Furthermore, I think that a lot of europeans deeply underestimate their cultural differences.
Who cares about France or Germany - we're out, that's all I care about. It's all going to crash and burn soon anyway. First to go will be the common currency, then social unrest will see an end to the ill-conceived and misbegotten venture once and for all. I genuinely do sympathise for the citizens.
You don't need to be in the EU to have border agreements though. It's not like France can't have agreements with other European countries.
I care about Germany big role in EU. Already a big Power or after France leave EU Germany are alone big Power!
I maybe want NAFTA in North border or Rubio next president or we wait and seen in 2020 wich of Warren and Castro.
Yes, the argument for representative democracy is that these guys have the time and patience to look at the issues deeply and make decisions on your behalf. But in fact these guys are ignorant bozos, so why not just go straight for direct democracy so all of us ignorant bozos can have a say? At least cut the political BS out of it... I'm of the opposite view. Trade is what counts, all the social stuff can stay within the borders. I couldn't care less whether there is gay marriage in Romania, as long as Germany can access tariff free vehicle parts.
Germany are big Money business in talk EU + them military unit small up with forces 2017 at least 500 more pieces in Navy and Army how calls in Germany Marine and Heer. Pure class Leopard 2. And 60.111 Soldiers in Heer. Maybe war in Balkan will start Bosnia, Kosovo or Albania and NATO Vs Serbian forces. Germany have troops in Balkan last 5 years.
If you ignore the fact that still no one has a plan or any idea how to do it. If you don't care that a plan is going to be worked out behind closed doors with little or no parliamentary scrutiny and approved or rejected by Brussels with no democratic input on the terms of the deal. Add to that the 48% of the population plus the young stay away voters disillusioned by the dishonesty of the campaign who wanted to stay in having no say in their future. Uncertainty about the status of Brits working and living in the EU and equal uncertainty about those EU workers propping up the NHS and areas of the economy such as agriculture. Plus the reworking of trade deals and the exit plan itself likely to take years thereby undermining the market which requires stability and certainty to attract investors......... Yup it's all going swimmingly, at least UKIP has lost it's only MP and Farage has gone abroad to spread his chaos and division elsewhere.
I don't think too EU whould be on a common social project. Free trade treaties are just an excuse to encourage people to work cheaper for the profit of billionnaires.
