Then please give us an example of one. You failed with the gun lock. Please tell us what gun law (or laws) would have prevented Newtown. You've had years to think about it. Just tell us.
Then specifically tell us three or four that would have prevented it. And mandatory gun locks isn't one of them that could have stopped it.
The gun was in a gun safe, which is much better protection than gun locks (which can be defeated by ordinary tools) and meets the legal requirement for gun dealers to store guns (which is fairly rigorous). How could mandatory training have stopped it? Please explain.
Was she trained that only she was to have access to this gun safe? What if she thought there could be penalities for anyone else being given access to her gun safe? If a gun is licensed to an individual it should not even be legally borrowed by anyone else. And there are plenty more
His mother could have taken a class in "how not to have your own son shoot you in the head and take your firearms for a school rampage 101". Duh.
pray tell exactly what part of the firearms being stolen after the owner was murdered, is not being understood by this particular individual?
Having a gun does not guarantee your safety either....but I guess the pro gun side does not need guarantees like the gun control side needs.
Conservatives don't promote the fear. Obama, much of the sympathetic media, and gun control advocates dona great job of that with unintended consequences. More guns were sold under Obama's term than in every comparable period of US history. That wasn't because of conservatives, but his rhetoric. Every gleeful saturation of the media stream that suggests a growing epidemic of 'gun' violence doesn't have the intended effect of generating support for more gun control, rather it illustrates the government can't protect people, increases fear and the response if acqiring guns for self defense. Hillary losing the election will cost gun industry investors, because the fear mongering and anti-gun rhetoric will not be a prevalent as it has in the last 7 years.
Wasn't there a Time magazine report which said you are more likely to die by your own weapon in a home invasion? (I think it was done after Sandy Hook)
