What is obvious is that Putin has one of his warships headed for two of ours.

I hate to disagree with you, but I don't think that even Putin would orchestrate such a horrific scenario just to gain points for Trump, and besides, knowing Trump, this was NOT a predictable response. I posted this on another thread:

I wonder if this is Trump's devious attempt to boost his popularity by acting alone and claiming ALL of the credit for handling the crisis.

While I agree that this was a humanitarian crisis that demanded a forceful response, I believe that Trump taking it upon himself to PERSONALLY handle the crisis without NATO involvement or Congressional approval was reckless, premature, and irresponsible. . . . Doesn't it trouble you that this man advocates a NUCLEAR BUILDUP???

Trump's "UNCONDITIONAL" followers defended his apathy concerning the Syrian crisis, but also applauded his "about-face" in ordering the missile attack; now he ALSO has the approval (on this issue) of many of his detractors. I would venture a guess that Trump is now closely watching opinion polls.

My most serious concern is that the unilateral response, without consulting allies, and the fact that Trump initiated it without Congressional approval, makes me wonder how far into the danger zone Trump will lead us. . . . Especially after making the implication that he will take on N. Korea alone.

Even if it WAS verified that Assad was responsible, there is still an established protocol for these situations. Trump's singlehanded, premature, trigger-happy response should remind us that it is not wise to turn a pyromaniac loose in a refinery with a book of matches.

Those two are trying to put up a smoke screen to lull suspicions that they are in collusion.
Nothing whips the rubes into mindless obedience like some jingoistic hysteria. Remember that Bush jr's poll numbers shot up to the 90s after 9/11.
The deplorables are so weak-minded that they'll polish anything as long as trump keeps paying lip service to their brand of rubbish.
We need to keep a very close eye on their great orange hope. I suspect that the establishment will not allow trump to endanger our national interests because of his incompetence or his compromised loyalties.

Some Washington talking head being interviewed on BBC Today right now has just said he's in possession of 'incontrovertible evidence' the attack was carried out by the regime but . . . wait for it . . . for security reasons he can't reveal the evidence. Works every effing time doesn't it? And he's just mentioned the 'women and children' victims! And he's just mentioned 'women and children' again!!

And now some English talking head is slagging off Putin as if he's the devil incarnate. Sommat is afoot!

It's a conspiracy theory that explains Trump's amazing about face on this. Remember after a much more horrific gas attack in 2013 Trump was LOUDLY against any kind of response.

And there IS that "back channel" that was recently discovered between Putin and Trump

Rather than trying to sound intelligent by making up conspiracies it's always best to wait for the facts to develop before shooting off one's mouth.

That was sad. Pardon me but the reach one has to make to come up with that nonsense. It's completely idiotic. !st Putin ad nothing to do with any part of it, Assad's part in it was limited to the fact that he gave control of Chemical weapons to to lower levels of command. Some brigade commander likely called in the strike and a bunch of women and kids among others wound up dead. The only thing that troubles me in all this is that had those women and kids got caught in an artillery barrage no one would have cared.

No big surprise at least in a place and time when crazy seems to be the new normal. Does make me wonder though if maybe Bashar's eminence gris might be looking to move up the totem pole a notch.

what exactly does the article explain so perfectly? It explains what the opposition wants to believe/hear.

Trump isn't the problem OR the answer. He is the merely the result that we have been given. Wake the **** up!

This is the most cockeyed tin foil hat conspiracy theory I have ever heard. It is of course based upon another tin foil hat theory, of trump and putin colluding. Garbage in, garbage out.

I do not know why trump is doing opposite of what he has believed for years, in regards to foreign policy, but it is not mere coincidence that trump is now fully in on neocon policy that began under Bush Jr. This is the continuation of that, which should be the "wake up" call and not some unbelievable trump/putin conspiracy tin foil hat thinking. Hopefully only Peppermint Twist would believe the article she quoted.

Trump lost my support, and so for those that asked his supporters what he would have to do, for them to stop supporting trump, well, this frame up of assad is what it took for me, with another trillion dollar war on the horizon, and perhaps even a war with Russia which crazy McCain is salivating over. I wish trump had colluded with Putin for that would be the way to remove him, yet his replacement would take us into another war, and I have no doubts.

If you watch MSM you are seeing a repeat of right before we invaded Iraq, the damned propaganda coming from the CIA who has tremendous power upon MSM. If people need to wake up, it sure isn't to PT's tin foil hat thinking, but to what is really going on.

And some others refuse to smell the offal even when it's held under their noses. This theory has the virtue of MAKING SENSE when few others I've seen account in any real sense for WHY Assad would break International Law in such a blatant way.
