No, I encourage free markets where companies would have no employees if they wouldn't pay a livable wage.. Where, oh my gosh, companies would have to compete for employees just as much as people compete for jobs!!
Their right to life (which you are expanding to a right to food, shelter, medical care, etc) does not mean they can take from other people. Can a disabled person go up to a man and take his wallet? Of course not. So why is it acceptable for the disabled person to use a middleman (the govt) to take the mans wallet?
That's actually your fault. You created this behemoth out of control govt, you wanted it to have all kinds of power, you just never ever expected the "deplorables" to get control of it. Now you have to take your medicine. And now you know what conservatives have felt like for the past 8+ years.
So now its ok for you to steal from me for what you want? Really? Then welfare will continue and you can't stop it. LOL
Many people with mental disability are physically strong. Sadly, American system which does not care for them forces them to commit financial crimes and drug dealing. Thus there are very many mentally disabled people in prison.
One way or another society pays, be it by incarcerating desperate people who have fallen through the cracks and turn to crime to get by, or by putting them in public housing and giving them food stamps. I prefer that we help when we can as it is better for society IMO?
I believe in welfare, but not as a right. Because welfare is essentially charity. And charity can only come from ones heart by choice. It can't be owed. Consequently, to call it a right is to label it a debt. Charity then becomes a bill, void of compassion. In essence what the Welfare Amendment would do is to reward kindness with rape, as it were. It says, "If you care about me, then you owe me. And if you don't pay me, I will file charges against you, and take from you what I want." Surely the quickest way to corrupt people is to teach or encourage them to be or think this way. That is what this law would do. There are two great powers in eternity...good and evil. This law or mentality is evil or anti Christ. To think that one is owed or has a right to anothers charity is to deserve nothing more or less than hell.
Paid vacations? Has it occurred to you that the wealthy elitists, want the system designed this way? By having a large number of people on welfare, they can blame it on the "entitlement party", which angers working people like you and I. And then we rant and rave, and play right into their scheme. It's all about garnering votes.
than* I don't know why anyone would think that people have a right to spending money. Basic services to keep them alive and healthy, sure, why not? It's barbaric if we allow those in need to die of exposure or starvation. But spending money? $300 a month? ... Why? People have a right to work and earn their spending money. Unless we want to remodel the economy so that money represents something other than labor... But then people would really lose incentive to be productive. Many would already just with this list of welfare "rights." Why do some miserable job if you can have so much provided to you as a right? Why not be a sponge?
In modern Europa 30 % of inhabitants strictly refuse to work and receive anything free from government. It is crazy.
People who pay taxes are entitled to services from the people those taxes support. Does that mean a homeowner is entitled to some workfare person shoveling his snow? You betcha.
Don't be so stupid. From the first day I joined this forum, I have been arguing that the govt is too large, too intrusive, too meddlesome, too powerful. Its you and people like you who want a govt powerful enough to control people, not me.
It depends upon what you mean by the "American system". The American system is based on freedom for the individual, it is bottom up, not top down which is the govt dictating to people. The first means of support has always been family, followed by church and friends, then by the charity of the larger community. Its only been in the past 50 years that the system has broken down, mainly due to the intrusion of the govt. The govt has been actively moving to drive out religion and private charity, and is responsible for the destruction of the family structure in many communities. But if you expect a society in which there are no people who are struggling, you are wasting your time. There has never been such a society and never will be.
Just an observation of fact. If facts insult you then that's your problem, but you can change the current facts by not posting stupid (and false) statements.
Same here. You don't have any facts to back up that the majority of lazy people are disabled. I have seen a lot of lazy people who are in perfectly good health. I prefer a system that teaches people to take care of themselves than one that takes from those who work and gives to those who just sit around.
