John Kenneth Galbraith A dishonest, Greedy woman, a greedy narcissist, a profoundly ignorant socialist, and a probably good man who didn't know about Aleppo. I felt I had to vote for someone.
Dishonest and greedy sums up Hillbilly perfectly. Of course I could simply call you a woman hating sexist like her voters would. Comrade Bernie may be a socialist, but I don't think he's ignorant. He knows full well that the masses suffer while elites like him reap the rewards. Gary Johnson? Proof that too much pot smoking will cause brain damage. Trump, huge ego? Absolutely. Greed? Who isn't that's successful to a point? But he sure as hell isnt POTUS to get rich. If anything, he's losing money overall.
Johnson got some negative press like the other candidates. But unlike the other candidates he got absolutely no positive press. So it presents a false picture of him. In reality he ran NM very well, both sides thought he did a decent job, and he brings left and right together on economics and social policy. Someone like him could probably heal a lot of the wounds you're currently experiencing after such a polarised campaign. Sanders pursues an agenda a few steps back from Communism and calls it Democratic Socialism, because even leftists don't like Communism anymore. A civil war is looking more and more likely. When people decide that it's acceptable to use violence against others because they hold different political views you know there isn't enough cultural glue holding your nation together.
Wounds I'm experiencing? Lol, what would make you say that?? I'm as happy as one could be with Trumps win.
I more so meant the system as a whole. Obama, then Trump, then some further left or further right guy, etc. It's all good and we'll while your guy is in power. Then some leftist will fundamentally transform America.
This thread is total crap. Trump was the single most important vote I ever casted in my life. His face belongs on Mt. Rushmore.
Thread title- Politics is the art of choosing between the disasterous and the unpalatable ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most of the time yes, that's why I never voted at all for many years here in Britain because I felt no politician or party deserved my vote. But when a great candidate came along like Nigel Farage and his UKIP party in recent years, I started voting for them. And if I was American I'd have voted for Trump too..
Never a good idea to announce you've shelfed your BONG, to "focus" on your campaign. His "brain freezes" don't advance the "harmlessness" of legalization.
I agree it was a very poor campaign, and I'd seek a new candidate next time, which is a shame because he was the best candidate up for offer imo.
I don't agree that Trump is greedy, but I voted for the man who didn't know about Aleppo. With all the things an American should be concerned with, Aleppo is actually pretty far down the list. I'd put immigration, health care, the budget, the debt, climate, crime, racial tension, drug addiction, and education above Aleppo.
