The Quran commentators read it in Arabic, and then provide their own commentaries. Among the Quran commentators there is a controversy on this issue.
The Palestinians have never drawn a distinction between Arab and Jew and this was expressly established by the Palestinians. The Palestinians have only been concerned with "Palestinians" which was anyone of Palestinian ancestry regardless of their cultural, racial, and/or religious beliefs. What should be noted is that the government of Israel agreed in writing to the fact that it had no territorial claims in 1949 based upon the lands it was in military occupation because the territorial division of Palestine into two separate nations, one Jewish and one Arab in compliance with the principles established by UNGA Resolution 181, could only be accomplished by the mutual consent of the Arabs and Jews (the "parties") living in Palestine. http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/israel-jordan-armistice-agreement-1949 The Armistice Demarcation Lines basically established the borders that existed prior to the Israeli invasion of Egypt, Syria, and the Jordanian administered Palestinian territories in 1967. In 2011, in addressing a joint session of the US Congress, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed that the borders of the Israeli State and the Palestinian State could only be determined by negotiation and the mutual consent of the Palestinian Arabs and the Israeli Jews.. http://www.jpost.com/Diplomacy-and-Politics/Text-of-PM-Binyamin-Netanyahus-speech-to-the-US-Congress Prime Minister Netanyahu was 100% accurate in his statement because the "borders" that existed on June 4, 1967 had no meaning whatsoever. They were basically the Armistice Demarcation Lines that Israel expressly established in writing in 1949 did not create any territorial borders for either the Arabs or "Israeli" Jews. The Israeli government and the representative government of the Palestinians need to start with a map of Palestine and then, without force or coercion, draw the borders of Israel and Palestine. This isn't an issue of the West Bank, Gaza, or Jerusalem. It's a division of Palestine into two separate nations that can only be done by the mutual consent of the people, Arab and Jew, living in Palestine. For this to happen there's one other consideration that Israel agreed to in the past. It's going to require the UN Security Council to intervene and replace the Israeli military occupation with UN military (preferably NATO) forces in the territory that Israel occupied in 1967, The Palestinians cannot agree to anything voluntarily so long as they are subjected to the hostile occupation of the Israeli military, The necessity for the UN Security Council intervention was explicitly established by UNGA 181 that Israel agreed to and referred to in the Israeli Declaration of Independence. Finally Israel must stop demanding that which the Palestinians cannot do. The Palestinians have no authority to declare Israel a "Jewish State" as that is exclusive sovereign Right of the Israeli People. The Palestinians are limited to acknowledging that Israel is a sovereign nation and has no authority to define the national identity of Israel.
Aha..... Well likewise Israel has no authority to declare a contested area to be restricted to Jews given their history to the place, has the ability but not the authority to clease just the Jews from that area. Israel is just a country not the hive mind of the swarm.

Aaron Klein in his "Late Great State of Israel" misrepresents Israel's problem and draws incorrect conclusions. Israel wants others to recognize the "legitimacy" of Israel but it's failed to address a fundamental problem. At the end of WW II the "Right of Conquest" was officially abolished and replaced by the "Right of Self-Determination" with the founding of the United Nations. Palestine could only be divided into two countries based upon the "consent of the people" comprised of the Palestinian "Israeli" Jews and the Palestinian Arabs. That mutual consent has never occurred and instead all of the territory that Israel claims has been acquired by "acts of force (war)" and that does not establish legitimacy for the territory Israel claims. It is for this reason alone that many of the countries, predominately Muslim that view Israel's actions as an attack on Muslims, reject the legitimacy of Israel. The Palestinian "Israeli" Jews and the Palestinian Arabs need to sit down with a map of "Palestine" and then, by mutual consent, establish the borders of (Jewish) Israel and (Arab) Palestine. That establishes legitimacy for both Israel and Palestine because both would be established based upon the "self determination of the people of Palestine" which is the only means of obtaining legitimacy for a two-state solution of the conflict. Jerusalem is problematic. The Arab Muslims would never accept Israeli rule over Jerusalem and the Israeli Jews would never accept Arab Muslim rule over Jerusalem. The UN General Assembly realized this when it issued Resolution 181 where it proposed that Jerusalem be established as an "international" city. Under those provisions both Israel and the Palestinians could use Jerusalem as the center of their government without either the Israeli Jews or the Palestinian Arabs being in control of the city itself.
The country could not be divided into two states, since there were the document of the Mandate that Artcile 80 protects till this day, and this document say that the territory of the Land of Israel will be for the establishment of a state for the Jewish people. Resolution 181 is null and void since the Arabs rejected the offer when it was presented to them. Hence, since it was never got it's legal status, it cannot be based upon the resolution.
I'm not insulting no one, just stating facts. The majority of people in Israel has the knowledge of the conflict based on what they learned in High School. High school does not mentions no where about Article 80, the official commentary of the Red Cross regarding the Fourth Geneva Convention atc.
pleae stop calling people "dumb" you attacked the high school education of Israelis, and yet in the same post you use horrible grammar and spelling. what does that say? hypocrisy much?
yes they do. israelis are very smart people. jews in general are very smart people. stop insulting israelis
