    your article is FAKE NEWS.

FBI has nothing to do with the investigation.

no computer was seized or reviewed by the FBI.

Wheeler has recanted his story about having any federal source.

Fox News and Fox 5 published separate stories about the supposed links on Tuesday. But since then, the main source has changed his story, D.C. police and the FBI have disputed the most explosive claims, and Rich’s family has called on the network and station to issue retractions, saying that “inaccurate reporting” is “damaging the legacy” of Rich, a 27-year-old DNC staffer who was slain as he walked to his D.C. home.

The Fox 5 story was based on the claims of Rod Wheeler, a former D.C. homicide detective hired by a third party to privately investigate Rich’s murder. Wheeler’s bona fides were questionable from the start: A Fox News contributor since 2002, he has a history of making outlandish and baseless claims. During one appearance on Fox News, he asserted that armed bands of lesbians were roaming American cities and assaulting children.

Wheeler claimed to the local station that a source in law enforcement told him that there was credible and confirmed evidence on Rich’s laptop computer that Rich had communicated with WikiLeaks before his death. Wheeler also said law enforcement officials told him that D.C. political figures had told them to “stand down” on his investigation.

Tuesday morning, Fox News published a version of the story that also relied on Wheeler as its sole named source. But it added information from an anonymous “federal investigator,” who said that “44,053 emails and 17,761 attachments between Democratic National Committee leaders, spanning from January 2015 through late May 2016, were transferred from Rich” to WikiLeaks.

Metro Police said Wheeler’s claims were false. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser called allegations of a cover-up “preposterous” in an interview with The Daily Caller.

Tuesday night, meanwhile, Wheeler changed his own story, telling CNN that he “only got” the information about a possible connection between Rich and WikiLeaks “from the reporter at Fox News,” and that he had no evidence of such a connection himself.

Further, there are potential holes in the reporting Zimmerman added. Her story asserts that the FBI ran a “forensic report” on Rich’s laptop within 96 hours of his murder. NBC reported Wednesday that the FBI never possessed or examined Rich’s laptop, raising doubts about the forensic report and how the unnamed federal investigator would be aware of such details about the contents of Rich’s computer.

It's right there in the news story, do you have any proof to the opposite? Anonymous sources are reliable to attack Trump so they must all be reliable or the news agency wouldn't publish it.....right?

Republicans drift like sheep from one Faux scandal to the next. Each time the "scandal" is shot down in flames, they blink their eyes like zombies and drift off to the next "scandal." These people are not to be reasoned with. They are beyond redemption...

Meanwhile, a current FBI official and a former one completely discount the Fox News claim that an FBI analysis of a computer belonging to Rich contained thousands of e-mails to and from WikiLeaks.

Local police in Washington, D.C., never even gave the FBI Rich's laptop to analyze after his murder, according to the current FBI official.

And a former law enforcement official with first-hand knowledge of Rich's laptop said the claim was incorrect. "It never contained any e-mails related to WikiLeaks, and the FBI never had it," the person said.

Wheeler admitted that he actually has no anonymous sources, or federal sources.

his only source is the Fox News reporter

But Tuesday afternoon, Wheeler told CNN he had no evidence to suggest Rich had contacted Wikileaks before his death.

Wheeler instead said he only learned about the possible existence of such evidence through the reporter he spoke to for the FoxNews.com story. He explained that the comments he made to WTTG-TV were intended to simply preview Fox News' Tuesday story.

"I only got that [information] from the reporter at Fox News," Wheeler told CNN.

Asked about a quote attributed to him in the Fox News story in which he said his "investigation up to this point shows there was some degree of email exchange between Seth Rich and Wikileaks," Wheeler said he was referring to information that had already been reported in the media.

Earlier Tuesday, Brad Bauman, a spokesman for the Rich family, released a statement in which he said the family had "seen no evidence" to suggest Seth Rich had been in contact with Wikileaks.

Bauman told CNN the outlets that had run with the story "have shown over and over again that they are willing to lie and manipulate the facts" to further "their own political end."

More fakery from fake factory propagated by the partisan noise machine with zero facts but their absolute faith in its truth.

Partisanism generates more hate and intolerance than racism or Islamophia. The source of a divided nation? Blind faith in bumperstickers.

Even though your entire insane political party is going crazy over some phony Russia conspiracy theory, your argument is that you personally never bought into it.

Yet...you bring up Birtherism and pizzagate, two conspiracies that I never bought into. So..does that make us even?

Meanwhile the origin of Birtherism is from the left wing nuthouse. Not to mention that during the Bush administration, half of Democrats thought that Bush either was involved or know about 9/11. The thing with conspiracy theories is that both sides are guilty (the out of power party usually goes crazy...see every Democrat who's stupid enough to appear on TV the past few months) but in general, conspiracy theories start on the left and then migrate to the right.

I didn't say you believe in birthism or pizzagate, I said they are right wing conspiracies.

Trump personally has close ties to Russia, many of his aides as well. He wouldn't criticize Putin. He invited Russia to hack Hillary, etc etc. It's not a stretch to suspect there is something fishy going on between Trump and Russia.

What do birthers and pizzagaters have? And the conspiracy in this thread?

    Not a damn thing.

You literally just brought up Birtherism and Pizzagate in your last post, and now your confused that I mentioned them? Oh brother...

And yes, it is quite a stretch to go from Trump wouldn't criticize Putin to he's locked in a conspiracy with Putin to overturn our elections. Sorry, that's crazy.

If you guys weren't driven so insane by Trump, you might have observed that Trump has made similar remarks about Kim Jong-un. So...although I have no doubt that in three years or so after the Russia conspiracy is played, you guys will be on to how Trump won re-election by colluding with North Korea to overthrow our elections!

If you guys could think straight you would make the connection between Trump's words about two US adversaries and how he negotiates, but I'm afraid that will only make history long after our current insane crop of journalists are long gone.
