It's true and it is actually not THAT bad. Quite OK, actually. Lol. I see. Never had asparagus, but I have had artichoke and I friggen looove it.
Amazing how popular popcorn is at American movie theatres though. This must be a taste bud issue with you, I think. Popcorn quells appetite, gives you something to chew, and the salt and butter on it taste good !!
Again, nothing wrong with it. It is just that it is so friggen boring. The same applies for natural rice-cookies - tasteless. I thought snacks were supposed to taste something sweet, sour, spicy, salty or creamy.
I also like you don't like rice cookies. But I love popcorn. Now that you mentioned it I will probably make some tonight !!
I've bought Popcorn cookies from the USA in Poundland before... I'm not going to lie, I don't like Chips Ahoy!. Well, it's telling me now, online, that this Popcorn Chips Ahoy is a UK exlusive release. When I first had a Chips Ahoy! was in England.. It was this one, and my friend had these from a trip to San Diego, CA... but..... They were kind enough to share a cookie with me so I could taste it but.. (or they wanted my opinion on the taste for some reason).. So I did, but, this Cookie brand is not for me.
The best cookies I have ever had were in Morocco -- French made -- sugar cookies with jelly middles. We can buy something like that with raspberry or strawberry middles. Not quite like the French cookies but close. Those are the only cookies that I eat.
If I over do the pop corn... though I like it, my body doesn't. Also, as tasty as corn is, it's not natural. (That's why our body disposes of corn and it still looks like corn).. Corn is one of mankind's first feat into GM crops. I hate to think what corn does to my body, when it's like corn chips, or corn bread, where it's corn based; I like it, but, if I have corn OTT (over the top)... I can feel sick. I have things I won't eat or drink, now, like Soda. Even full fat soda in the UK contains aspartame.
The peanut butter cup ones are the only ones I kind of tolerate, but they still have this sort of flavorless cardboard quality. Very dry cookie to the point of always seeming stale.
I can eat frozen veggies, just not canned. Canned peas? Barf. Frozen peas are really good though. They are allegedly flash frozen at the peak of ripeness. I eat frozen peas, frozen broccoli, cauliflower, and corn sometimes. No need to apologize though, you can't help it if you just don't like something.
Corn (a word which originally meant kernel but now means maize) was first grown in the Western Hemisphere and brought to Europe by Columbus (Christoforo Colombo) and by Sir Walter Raleigh. It is a starchy grain no different than wheat, which is a grass. Since it is starchy it is a great food. Popped corn (aka popcorn) is the starchy kernel puffed by extreme heat (either by steam or oil). It's a carbohydrate (aka carb). Like celery it is a great diet food, if you go lite on the butter.
I only like spinach if it's mixed in with something else, like spinach and artichoke cheese dip or spinach in a quiche or an omelette or something. I can also tolerate fresh and raw spinach in a salad.
Celery is like Matcha tea in they both are good for you as well as contain a chemical that targets and burns abdominal fat. I've never seen popcorn as a carb' before, but, you might have a point about that one.
And I think - used to think? - it was a snack taken between dinner and sleep, but it's frequently used here in the context 'a fish and chips supper', and I've often thought 'Who'd go to bed, and expect to sleep after a meal like that, especially following the main meal of the day a couple of hours earlier? An alternative word for 'dinner' makes sense.
Those who say they don't like 'blue cheese' really ought to try Stilton though. It's nowhere near as 'firey' (for want of a better word) as Gorgonzola, but just different enough to make a change from Cheddar. I try to steer clear, at least as much as it's possible these days, from all processed food. I like to know what I'm eating!
I like Maryland cookies; this UK Cookie. Amen Sista, you and me must be cut of the same dna block because I'm all; Frozen, yes, canned; yuk. I have frozen peas, frozen broad beans, shredded frozen capsicum peppers; I need more diced onions *I haven't actually seen canned diced onion before (thank God). - Frozen broccoli I need. I buy fresh; asparagus, cucumber, spinach, broccoli, red onions, whole capsicums, carrots (though I'm not against frozen carrot mixed peas).. I only liked canned fruit if it's in juice, not syrup, but I prefer fresh fruit. I threw out these frozen berries I bought and never used. I think you was meant to bake with it? Or; IDK, anyway, these I can forage as there are bushes of blackberries growing wild here. Blueberries I buy fresh sometimes, they're alright, but, cost more. Goji berries from China cost the most though, and was a fad a couple of years ago now, a really high in anti toxin berry, the goji berry. I have dried ones, from a speciality health food shop.
Pop corn is a puffy carb, so it fills you up, and it lets you chew, at the expense of very few calories. So it is like a diet food -- like celery. Lots of chewing for very little calories.
I know 2 things about celery - Chemically; Celery has a special chemical that targets your stomach fat and burns it. Negative calories; chewing aside, digesting celery burns more calories than celery has. Matcha tea, is said to share these stomach fat targeting burning properties that celery has. We all need carbohydrates in a healthy balanced diet because; carbs are energy... But you're right, you'll feel all full which when you're running isn't great.
Get out of here! Liquorice in all it's forms is one of the best candies out there and should therefore be treated with love and respect.
What? Nooooo. I love it! Not a big fan of sweet liquorice (but it sure goes down), I much more prefer salt liquorice and salmiak. Yummy.
