South Dakota is beautiful, North Carolina in the mountains is lovely in the summer and Idaho is also pretty.

I have thought about getting another one, I just can't find one for 5.00. It was a really nice bicycle, good tires, gears, brakes, everything worked. Just joking about the price of the bike, I don't expect to find one for 5.00. Those people found a bargain that day. lol.

If I ever get my herd of goats and can put the border collie to work I won't have time to ride a bicycle. Right now I am busy with yard work and training the border collie. He is amazing especially his learning ability, right now he is learning to catch the frisbee.

They are pretty and the memories are all that matter. I collected Christmas stuff for a long time and we moved so much that most of my stuff got lost or broken. I gave up. This past Christmas I put up a Christmas tree for the first time in several years. This was the first Christmas in about 5 years I felt like not saying Bah Humbug...lol.

You are right Alabama is a beautiful state especially in the spring, we just got back from a trip to Montgomery a few days ago. Have you ever been to Sweet Creek Market, it is just south of Montgomery?
For beauty you can't beat Texas in the springtime.

I live about a hundred miles north of Montgomery. Never been to Sweet Creek Market.

You must live in the mountains. We went to Boaz last fall and it was beautiful in that part of the state. Small mountains but pretty none the less. Alabama is a pretty state.

For all those who have seen their state change drastically. Never mind whether it is ecologically sound.

It's funny how married people make judgments about each other.

Your hubby obviously had made the judgment that you as his spouse was never going to ride the bike so he just wanted to get rid of it since it was just taking up space and so $5 bucks was a windfall. He was getting rid of the bike and $5 was like saying "here take it it's free" and the money was just to save face for the buyer so the buyer could not admit he was dirt poor.

That's why I asked if you still rode the bike?

Your hubby was thinking you did not and that it was just taking up space.

And like I said too -- $20 bucks is a magical number for ladies. They would do just about anything for $20 bucks !!

Aren't you supposed to be off somewhere doing the Walk of Shame down the beach back to your hotel room with your unmentionables in your pocket or something right now?

I would say most of the Earth is beautiful in its own special way.

The Southern USA is forested rolling hills except where the land has been cleared for agriculture, as I recall from my few forays into that neck of the woods.

There seems to be a lot of ticks there however, like ants anywhere else.

And also a lot of mosquitoes too.

But fireflies (aka lightning bugs) are all over too.

The most unique thing about Idaho is its fishing. They seem to have tons and tons of trout.

They also have a lot of big game, but so does also the rest of the Rocky Mountains states as well. Just that Idaho has more fishing opportunities and the fishing is better there than anywhere else.

Nope, it wasn't that I wasn't riding it, we were downsizing for a move. We were moving about 300 miles away. It was the less we had to move the better.

There are ticks and mosquitoes everywhere. The south doesn't have a monopoly on pests. The pests in the south are much like the Yankees that come here they just can't bring themselves to move on. The climate and the people just can't be beaten for being ideal.

Moving a bike is a big pain. So that makes perfect sense.

For a good bike, which would normally cost several hundred dollars, then $50 seems like it would have been a better price than $5 or even $20.

But obviously your hubby did not want to be stuck with it, so $5 will buy a beer at a bar or a six-pack at the store.

To him the beer was worth more than the bike.

My husband doesn't drink. He was more interested in getting rid of stuff at any cost. He is not a hoarder unless, unless, it is guns, gun books or tools then he can't have too many. They will never be for sale.

Gun hoarding is addicting to many guys.

My own rule to avoid it is only to have one type of gun and only for one type of use and that must be critical.

So I have 1 pistol, 1 shotgun, 1 carbine, and 1 scoped hunting rifle.

At most I only need 1 more pistol, and that because I use my primary pistol in my job, so if it breaks, I would need another one.

I have never had a gun break however, so it is hard for me to imagine that any would.

So 5 guns is my own absolute limit. And besides the 1 backup, they each do different things.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend. Checker at the grocery store today said, " Big plans for the weekend?" Had to break the news that the weekend is nearly over. She said, "Oh, it is isnt it?"

Rained for 2 days here. Limited to indoor fun.

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend off.

I drove up to my deer hunting trailhead and it is still half-snowed-in.

So the bucks have not yet moved back into that area yet.

We got double snow this year and the streams are flowing and the ponds are full so there should be lots of big game animals this year.

After walking around a bit at the trailhead, I returned home and just relaxed the rest of the day.

Had some bbq ribs left over which I used to make fresh pork and beans with for dinner.

Tomorrow will be a relaxing Monday holiday.

The next holiday is 4th Of July one month away. Then I should be able to hike my hunting trails with the snow gone by then.
