You'd better start worrying about illegal immigration over your northern border!

From the amount of narcotics coming over the southern border it's only a matter of time before all Americans are crack-heads. American used to be 'an awesome country', but it isn't now.

It's still an awesome country and you apparently don't understand the drug problem in America.

Nothing you post will change my opinion about this country but you're welcome to keep trying.

Not in the least bit surprised that they are down on the Mexican border since it was already in progress.

It is Canada, Australia and New Zealand who now have a problem with Americans immigrants looking for an alternative to Trumpistan.

Assumes extremist alt right factoids NOT in evidence!
The MAJORITY of the voters went for Hillary!

The GOP voter suppressed EC was gerrymandered to support the Orange Idiot.

If there is an impeachment I think the Republicans will be driving it.

Hopefully Hillary will NEVER run again. She's too old and has too much baggage.

    Is that so?

I'll be interested in seeing pictures from Australia of American boat people trying to get into their country.

Which begs the question, when did the Montana Democrats create that district? ;-)

No! We're not to blame! It's those evil conservatives! Our message is pure of heart, and preaches equality for everyone! If only those Russia loving Trumpettes could stop hanging black people in their backyards for 10 minutes, and listen to our golden gods preach from CNN, they'd see it too!

It is always a factor in American politics, and it usually explains very red and very blue congressional districts.

Gerrymandering is an overrated strategy based upon several factors, the most important being that it assumes a static voting record of voters. The reality is, dems' policies are NOT liked by the majority of LEGAL American voters and has been proven since dems began losing power across the board since 2010.

I think most of us would like their votes to be "counted," instead of discredited because they happen to be in an opposing district. Dems have a distinct problem of huddling together in cities and many of their votes are meaningless because they are overkill-votes in districts they agree with. So their choice is to be meaningless in districts they win anyway, OR meaningless in districts they don't agree with.

Here's an interesting article about it:

You figure this Montana district is gerrymandered to benefit the GOP?

That is a specific case. Redistricting can be argued in courts, but the electorate can and will change nullifying redistricting changes when the electorate doesn't like one party (dems in this case) or the other.

Gerrymandering becomes less effective over 10 years, but it does concentrate the opposition into as few districts as possible for the first election after a census. Gerrymandering is a spoil of victory, that diminishes the power of a political opposition to resist the ruling faction. IMO, It is not a good thing in a democratic republic.

True, but gerrymandering can only influence change in the House of Representatives. AT BEST (or worst). I don't believe dems have a majority no matter how you look at it.

More likely to benefit the DP by stuffing all the Republicans into it. Montana has never been a solid reliable Republican state. Who was the governor during the last redistricting?
