During Obama's second term in office, I started to wonder why we continually hear about black people and their problems and their complaints. And what is our response supposed to be? Are we supposed to be doing something to help them? How are we supposed to do that? If spending trillions of dollars on social welfare and passing hundreds of laws to protect them from discrimination and give them privileges in school admissions, employment, and contracting over the last 50 years hasn't helped then I'm not sure that anything that I can do as one individual will make a significant difference. It seems like aggressive policing and mass incarceration has helped them the most. Locking up more black criminals has led to significantly safer black communities. I read somewhere that Mayor Giuliani's reforms in NYC are estimated to have saved 10,000 black lives. But now we're told those things are racist. The police are racist. The criminal justice system is racist.
The only thing I expect government to do to help {black/LGBT/female/male/asian/white/muslim/whatever} people is to treat every individual one of them equally and equitably under the law. Once that is done, then it is up to every individual, regardless of membership in any group, to achieve their own potential; to succeed or fail on their own merits.
The biggest racists are the ones wanting extra rights for themselves. Typically they are found in ethnic supremacy groups: NAACP, Congressional Black Caucus, La Raza, Crips, Bloods, Mexican Mafia, etc., etc..... However, don't underestimate what you can do. You can write letters and contact leaders and demand better changes---like slamming convicted gangsters harder. Like demanding affirmative action, welfare and other racist entitlement programs be ended. Because the enslavement of Blacks must be almost the greatest tragedy in human history, then demand the many African nations that enslave millions of Blacks be boycotted. Just don't expect Hollywood to help. Like the above only change it to "Abolish Slavery---Divest Now" highlighting Benin, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Gabon, Senegal, Mauritania and Togo chief among the 38 African nations with persistent slavery. http://articles.latimes.com/2013/oct/17/world/la-fg-wn-slavery-africa-20131017
Why should we be helping them at all? If they want to be treated as equals, they shouldn't want help.
Sorry we have a lot of people in deep denial about poor behaviors that sabotage outcomes including but not limited to high college drop out rates, high crime rates, high out of wedlock birthrates and so forth. The "in" thing now is to blame white people for any and all unequal outcomes and to invoke slavery/Jim Crow whenever someone points out facts such as the above that hurt feelings. The modern era is one of political lies to make people feel good and to spare their feelings, NOT to tell the truth regardless of who it may hurt so that everyone can advance and live in a better society.
You're not. Why? Do you think they need whitey's help? If so, could you possibly be more arrogant and racist?
So I'm supposed to be in some state of never-ending guilt even if I've done nothing to victimize them? What does that accomplish?
It accomplishes disenfranchisement, and ultimately acquiescence. It's the standard gameplay from those with an eye to totalitarianism. Foster negative emotions as often and as strongly as possible.
Schools, Libraries, Roads, Police, living wages, foodstamps for those that need it, ect..... if Corporate greed keeps outsourcing our jobs, they will be the end of us... sadly
. I'm thinking that black culture....in a very General sense...is separatist...and demanding recipication from what they deem white culture....to alleviate issues....they think we're seeded 100+ years ago. Do you disagree with that statement?
So a continuation of what we have been doing and have had no success with curbing poverty. We need a different direction, one that actually gets people out of poverty, not one that simply allows people to survive in it.
People are poor because they make bad decisions, or because they have a really low IQ, or both. There is only one program that will work: a social contract that teaches people skills, while requiring a certain level of effort on the part of the person wanting those skills. Instead of handing people money, we give people aptitude tests and find out what jobs they would be good at (like the militarys ASVAB), then help them with that training. This social contract would stipulate learning social skills, classes in finance, work skills, crime free, family planning, and drug free requirements. Adhere to the contract, you receive training and job placement. Don't, and you get nothing. Handing people food stamps and housing vouchers will never get anyone out of poverty.
I'm not sure I would be completely OK with that but it's a framework for something I could endorse. The biggest factor is offering a way out of poverty instead of the endless cycle of generational poverty. Fresh brings up a living wage, but a living wage should be earned, not just given. Whether through years of service or higher competency there has to be a method with which people improve their station in the workplace.
It's much like a system we already have: the military. It divides people into two main groups: those we can help, because they want to be helped....and those who need to be "rehabilitated" via incarceration People can only earn a "living wage" if they have the needed skills.
How many of those trillions of welfare dollars went to white people vs. how many went to black people? Just curious...
Stop thinking about "black people" and "white people", just think about "people" (and that applies to all people of course). Easy to say but hard to do given that you're dealing with generations of indoctrinated racial division that is still ongoing. It is the right answer in the end though.
They don't really want to help black people attain equality. This is all just a Zionist scam designed to make you feel OK with continued and increased theft via taxation so that your money can go to another tribe's people, not yours.
Look at a bag of Jelly beans, ever count how many Black jelly beans in one bag ? Very few, Sometimes, not one.
