"Young voters have been key to Labour's successes in the general election in Wales and beyond, according to politicians and academics. We spoke to some younger Labour voters to find out their reasons for backing Jeremy Corbyn." Without exception they replied. 'Because we're immature, and immature people believe everything they're told of course. - DUH!" Tomorrow's liberals? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/election-2017-40229786/jeremy-corbyn-the-draw-for-young-voters
Todays rebels against the establishment. If Labour was in power, they would all be Tories. That is who Mr Corbyn appeals to. If he wins office. He loses the next generation of them.
Maybe, just maybe, young people don't believe in regular slander as an effective British campaign. Maybe a manifesto that presented hope instead of trying to kill the weak in an attempt to make room for the ridiculous amount of foreign money we will have in our nation. If we continue with an austerity based economy, where we do not spend correctly in new energy innovations and scientific corporation instead of old-fashioned business, we will be nothing more than a tax haven in 20 years time.
We're leaving the European Union and the EU are calling for an army and Jeremy Corbyn wants to get rid of Britain's nuclear defence. It doesn't make sense to me. For the worker, he wants to end 0 hour contracts. For the self employed he wants to ban payroll companies a.k.a Umbrella Companies. I'd have to become a contractor instead of an agency worker or employed for the client in Jeremy Corbyn's Britain. There is a whole industry around pay roll/umbrella companies. I earn what I earn and make my money and a payroll company takes a small cut etc etc. Contractors have Unique Tax Defence code and compared to agency work is a huge hassle because you're hired by the construction company, and they pay you monthly, and you have to do your own tax return - agency work which is 99% of my work in construction. So far I've seen calls to get rid of our nuclear deterrent sending many to the JobCentre instead. Pressure on employers with hours for the employee ending 0 hour contracts, the worlds most flexible working pattern yet. Sending the payroll industry to the JobCentre - Just to better tax me.
Not to worry - the buffoon Boris Johnson will be prime minister very soon and he'll sort it out. The Conservatives seem to have a death wish.
They might not believe in it now, but life will offer them no choice but to believe in it sooner or later. Occupy Wall Street brings no solutions. No one in Greece believed it. They all voted against it multiple times, but voting doesn't change so much. Life goes on and the wheels keep turning and voting for the evolution of mankind still does not create evolution. Each new generation will try. Young Labour people didn't mind regular slander of the Tory candidates. They might not have liked the regular slander of their own preferred candidates, but they didn't seem to mind it otherwise. In the end with candidates as weak as Labours, (and other party's were light on strong candidates also), it is no surprise that they get called out for their weakness. None.
What I can't understand it how two jumped-up little c**ts can inflict abject fear throughout the HQ of UK power, viz. 10 Downing street, and including effing ministers of the crown. And for May to have been fully aware of it speaks volumes as to her judgement. The sooner she's history the better. She had me fooled!
Young labour voters always supported Corbyn. They didn't swing the election. People didn't start looking Corbyn, they started hating the Tories again, because of some inept campaigning. That you would be on track for a 100 seat majority one moment then drop a 20 point lead after what was clearly poor party management and a terribly out of touch manifesto. Her failure was that she didn't move the discussion back to Brexit (some funny videos of Conservative MPs just begging the BBC to talk about Brexit instead of the dementia tax). She proposed policies which looked like attacks on their base (dementia tax against the elderly, draconian internet regulations against the young). May flip flopped on stuff, her MPs were I'm contradiction to her, and as a PM based on claimed stability you can't let that happen.
I wrote on this board that she'd ****ed up big-time with the elderly electorate the day her manifesto was published. And to think she based it on what those two wankers Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill her chiefs of staff ('chiefs of staff' ) who were her advisers told her? With that sense of judgement I think we're getting rid of her just in time. So bring on Bojo?? Oh god I'm sooo depressed now! As it happens I've just emailed my son and my dodda to say that I'd go and live in Russia if only it wasn't so cold there!!
Jeremy Corbyn's best attraction for young voters is that he is not Theresa May, who was an unelected prime minister. The Tories picked her as a Brexit prime minister because of her anti-immigration views and they had never thought that she would be popular among the general public. So it was a grave mistake for the Tories to call the general election, which is basically a popularity contest.
