'In their rush to identify the firearms used in the Alexandria, VA shooting of Republican congressmen practicing on a YMCA baseball field, they showed their stupidity… and it’s pretty impressive.'

Let’s see how many terms and or names they came up with, shall we?
WARNING: if this was a drinking game with ASSAULT as the buzzword, we’d all be drunk.'

if an SKS is an assault rife , so is a Garand Thank god the shooter was a liberal minion and therefore incompetent

The first report I say called his gun an M4 like gun.... an obvious move to establish the typical dishonest narrative of a 'military grade' weapon being used....I waited for the inevitable mention of 30 round clips.

The whole article appear to be a collection of meaningless posts that have very little to do with actual news reporting. By the way anyone actually know what the gun was. All That I can surmise is that either the gun wasn't very accurate or the shooter wasn't competant, or both. And by the way that is a good thing or it really could have been a massacre.

that the shooter had return fire to deal with shortly after he started shooting was the main reason why he wasn't able to inflict even more casualties

What's fairly chilling is that if Scalise, the highest ranking member present, had not been there then his security officers wouldn't have been there (with their guns) and a lot more people would have died.

No question that the agents saved a lot of lives. But there is also no question that the shooter was not very accurate.

There's been a growing would-be "militia" movement on the political left ever since Trump got elected, and their videos online - which are supposed to be intimidating, I think - are laughable in their utter lack of even basic competence.

Does it really matter that much what model firearm was used? After hearing about this guys history, I wonder how he was able to get a FOID in Illinois.

The people who support gun control seem to think it is.... so long as it fits into their narrative, and they will twist the facts fiercely to make it fit if they can. "The shooter used an AR-47 assault weapon in the 40-watt range!" When the scenario doesn't fit their narrative, suddenly they don't care what model was used. Even after it became common knowledge the shooter had used an old SKS the term "assault weapon!" continues to be carelessly thrown around.

All they knew was that he did not have a criminal record and he had no official adjudication of mental illness. Now his past history of bizarre behaviors is becoming known because the pattern is becoming clear, but nothing prior was enough to rise to the level of disqualification.

Irony: An SKS IS a 'military grade' weapon.
    Maybe not OUR military, but...

The Feds haven't released photos of what exactly the Bernie Sanders inspired terrorist used. But it was an SKS.

It is possible he reloaded one or two 10 round stripper clips into the weapon, but I think that would have been too difficult for a crazy old man to do in the heat of his killing rage. I believe he used an aftermarket 30 round clip and never reloaded.

A flintlock rifle once was a Military weapon, so was a sword, bow & arrows......

Sorry but blaming the idiot on Sanders is disingenuous. Might as well blame it on the Trump inspired era of hatred and intolerance. A nut job is a nut job is a nut job is a nut job and it is time to figure out how to keep them from being able to fulfill their fantasies.

    Pppppllleeeessseeee!

I am so sure that if a former Trump campaigner who picketed for Trump policies and was part of a "Kill Sanders" Facebook groups were to have shot at the Congressional Democrat ball team, you'd be just calling them a "nut job."

Sounds like he was never prosecuted and/or convicted of his crimes. I blame the local prosecutor for him being allowed to own guns.

    Pure fantasy and gabage.
Trump has not inspired anything, hatred and intolerance existed long before Trump.

I do not see him blaming Sanders just stating a fact that he was a supporter of Sanders which is true.

Uh, he's a liberal. Bizarre behavior within his own type would have been considered normal.

Yep, just a coincidance that hate crimes have gone up since the start of the Trump campaign.

You have reading comprehension issues. The phrase " Bernie Sanders inspired terrorist " seems pretty clear.
