This is an incredible achievement, the future for secure un-hackable communication, certainly I think right up there with the gravitational wave detection experiment last year In 2016 the Chinese launched the worlds first quantum satellite "Micius" http://www.abc.net.au/news/science/...-quantum-entanglement-distance-record/8620240
I like this image of the satellite beaming the individual photons of a pair to Qinghai and Yunnan Provinces http://tech.firstpost.com/news-anal...t-quantum-communication-satellite-329744.html
That's weird. If they hadn't actually done it, I'd have said it's a bunch of hooey. It's a shame I won't study physics for six years so that I could understand it.
LOL. I sorta got it. Good video. It is pretty easy to follow except she runs through it pretty fast. She didn't say anything about the entangled pairs, though. I just now made time to watch that video. I'll have to go watch the one in your first post.
Yes watch the first one - about 1 min into the video he explains 50/50 result if measuring horizontal photon with a vertical filter... also how this changes the spin and that's how they'll know the message have been hacked.
OK, the first video didn't show anything about instant communication. The guy said it couldn't happen. It was a good explanation of entangled pairs and why they are.
The guy did say it can't be done but they've been doing this for a while now using optical fibre, there's too much interference for long distance and this is why they successfully used Satellite
I only regret it is the Chinese doing this. Not long ago, America led the world in nearly all areas of research, now we have the anti-science party in control.
Anyone who understands quantum mechanics hasn't studied it long enough - Richard P. Feynman Six years amounts to an introduction, in physics.
Apologies to Scarlet Witch--my post seems to have gotten "entangled" with yours. What I meant to say: I foresee active recruitment of mediums by the CIA coming up....
