Actually, birds have been known to abandon their nests or even destroy their eggs if there are problems. In fact, many animals practice infanticide if there is not enough food to feed all of them. The human body itself will abort a fetus if the mother's body is under too much stress. You would think that a supreme being that hates abortion would figured out a different way to handle this.
I didn't. I posted : ""Gee, another Anti-Choicer who will swear he isn't sexist nor misogynistic..... There is no other reason to have an abortion......an unwanted pregnancy IS inconvenient......."""
OK, I just get tired of Anti's saying abortions are bad because they're only for convenience....there is no other reason....women get abortions because a pregnancy and kid are inconvenient for what ever reason.
Slavery was legal in the United States. That didn't make it moral or ethical or civilized. God is watching.
Many men are in prison today for murdering unborn babies. Scott Peterson murdered his wife Stacey and their unborn son, Connor. Scott was convicted of TWO murders and was sentenced to life in prison for each murder. Eat your own sarcastic, condescending, ignorant words. Defending murder, which is based on a lie by Norma McCorvey, is sickening. She was not raped as she claimed. Case should be overturned and aren't Leftists shaking in their boots now that Trump has appointed Neil Gorsuch. What a pity Leftists won't be able to abort black unborn babies at the hugely disproportionate rate now going on. At public expense in Margaret Sanger's vile clinics, Planned Parenthood. (sick)
Slavery had to do with BORN persons who should have had rights all along. Restricting women like cattle isn't moral, ethical, nor civilized.
The woman was EIGHT months pregnant.....WAAAAAAY past the viablity/abortion limit. The level of the Anti-Choice side It would be if it were true.....but like all your posts, it isn't. Nothing to do with abortion rights. Well, here's the problem, you'll need a REASON to overturn RvW..there isn't one...........and most Americans do not want it overturned.... typical overly emotional factless flamebaiting rhetoric by those desperate to curtail women's rights... I am curious as to your ridiculous complaint that ""abort black unborn babies at the hugely disproportionate rate""... Disproportionate to what? IF the same number of women who want an abortion get an abortion the numbers are in proportion....
And it was Christians in the United States who were keeping the slaves and who went to war to keep slaves in bondage.
Good point to bring up when they attempt to use the old "slavery had something to do with abortion" gambit...
The Basics, Abortion is a Homicide, Face that Fact I disagree. A first trimester fetus is no more a viable human being than an apple is a tree. Both have the POTENTIALITY of being the adult entity, but only if circumstances and the environment are conducive to their development over time. The Supreme Court justices in Roe vs Wade did a remarkably good job sorting through the jungle of legal, social and cultural considerations to make their landmark decision. That decision has withstood the test of time, and must go down as one of the most cogent ever made by that court. Abortion according to existing law is NOT murder; it is a parent's right to decide according to their own personal situation. Once the fetus is viable (capable of sustaining life on its own) then it becomes a legal human being and American citizen, and as such, protected by the legal system under the U.S. Constitution. It's a good system as it is, and needs no fixing. Furthermore, no human can survive long without the presence of the soul (spiritual component of any human life). Souls don't generally enter the fetus until there's sufficient brain and neuron development to allow it to begin merging with fetal organs to gain the necessary controls it requires to maintain that body during a physical incarnation. If the soul is present when the abortion takes place, that soul can elect to be born in another later pregnancy to the same parents. Again, no "murder" is involved, only an environmental delay, which is of little consequence overall.
You were doing fine until : """" Once the fetus is viable (capable of sustaining life on its own) then it becomes a legal human being and American citizen, and as such, protected by the legal system under the U.S. Constitution.""" NO, a fetus does not receive rights or personhood or citizenship until birth. It does have protections at viability, abortions after 23 weeks are illegal except for the life/health of woman and/or fetus.. We part company completely on the "soul" thing....I respect your right to have that view but I don't believe in it...
So a single fertilized cell without consciousness, a brain, emotions, or senses to you is a whole human being. What about non-reproductive cell? Are they human beings? If I attach a sperm to an egg cell and then kill it have I committed murder and deserve the death penalty?
I stand corrected on fetal citizenship. Thank you. For most of my life I would have agreed with your comment on the soul as well, but after several years effort to determine whether or not rational evidence for an afterlife actually existed, I found some. Actually, I found lots of evidence--powerful and convincing enough to change my whole view of reality. I am not religious, but the evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of multiple dimensions of reality, many of which are not physical in nature. I respect your skepticism, since I shared it for so long, but there's more--much more--to reality, and us as conscious beings, than you imagine.
Oh, I can imagine all sorts of alternative realities, there just isn't proof of them....and the afterlife? There is only ONE way to know what happens after death...
If you're referring to dying, then there is a substantial collection of cases where individuals died, had out-of-body experiences, and were then medically resuscitated. When you study them and find the many areas of commonality and agreement, it becomes a powerful source of evidence for continued consciousness after physical death, though in a non-physical body form.
Well, this is getting way off the topic but : Yes, human bodies react the same way when the heart stops and then is resuscitated ( hence the commonality of experience during this time like the same pain humans feel when they break their arm or have a heart attack...) I'm sorry but it is not a "powerful source of evidence" of an afterlife....there is ONLY one way to prove that.
Is it possible, FoxHastings, that you're arguing this much because you don't want to admit you committed a homicide?
Oh, look, after TWO FAILED attempts at threads you come sneaking in with a little whimper...and as usual with no facts , no logic, nothing but an off topic personal attack...as you desperately try to appear clever....and fail like your threads
Why do you believe that? Is it because you hold the fetus on the same level with an animal or because you believe the woman has the right to kill?
