I Love Bacon but then who doesn't.I also love little link sausages. But that is definitely Not Heart Healthy. That stuff clogs arteries.I don't need that aggrevation. Ever notice all the Jerky being packaged and sold.Like 5 years ago there was maybe 3 or 4 brands. Now there's like 23 or 24 brands. Plus the stuff is really expensive. As I kid I also loved Slim Jim. But then it's full of nitrates.Nitrates will give you sore muscles. It gets into your muscles.
Cooking for yourself is never as good as cooking for someone else imo. When you are doing it for yourself, you just don't care. Or sometimes you do, but it is entirely dependent on mood. At least for me.
Ketchup and tomato sauce are not the same. A really good tomato sauce takes about an hour to cook. Ketchup is basically just chemicals.
Ya, and it can also bring on blight and fungus problems. But everything else is going gangbusters. Spent all this morning shelling peas. And we have a large freezer full of stuff. Also a lot of canned goods. Had the best corn harvest ever. A half pound of seed gave us a years supply of corn and we gave away at least 9 dozen ears. Our problem this year is storing the harvest.
I've had sore muscles lately. Do you think my bacon is a contributor?? The butcher says none are added. Maybe it's just the hard work and hiking I do.
Interesting viewpoint. While I have enjoyed cooking for others, cooking for myself is always best. This includes making some really tasty desserts as well. Now that I am retired, I make it a point to make every day a holiday for myself - I deserve it!
They sure do. Plus, they have more egalitarian relationships. Republicans on the other hand love to be "macho" as illustrated above. This is why so few like to cook as they see that as being women's work.
I have been living off Subway sandwiches during the week lately and it's really true -- you do lose weight eating them !!
Sometimes we make a cake just because. My husband eats it at night, my kids in afternoon and I crave it for breakfast. Gone in a day. Cake mixes from a box are the best imo. It's hard to make a comparable cake from scratch.
Really? That's odd. Most of the married men I know are working and so are their wives. A lot of times they will both participate in the cooking chores. One will cook, the other will clean up or vice versa. Having said that though, most of the men I know aren't really too keen on cooking. They like eating but not the cooking it part, unless it's on the grill. Lol.
Not at all. Most tomato sauce is not ketchup. Tomato sauce is an ingredient in ketchup. Just based on me, my brothers, and the guys at work. Most men I know are involved in the cooking--either as the main cook, or split cooking duties (my case). Exception being a co-worker who has a stay at home wife who does all the cooking.
Not related to politics. I know die-hard male Trump supporters who cook for their family, and I know male Bernie fans who cook for their family.
Not based on people I know. Love the strawman about Republicans you built. I'm a die-hard Republican, and I share cooking with my wife, depending on who has time. I'm also the breakfast specialist.
Knowing how to cook can be an asset for a man. Most women appreciate a man who knows his way around the kitchen.
This really nice cold, with salad: http://www.deliciousmagazine.co.uk/recipes/beef-and-chestnut-roll/ Some teriyaki sauce goes well with it.
I saw Justin Wilson do something similar a few years back with pecans and honey as a stuffing. It looked delicious. I am assuming minced meat means hamburger.
Nowadays men cook. Cleaning up is another thing lol. Everyone likes to grill these days also . It's not the 50s lol. camping and grilling is the best , veggies on the grill are very tasty. Almost anything on the grill is tasty
