And that does not mean it is........ http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-07-...ranked-second-best-in-developed-world/8716326
And look at the average compensation for General Practitioners: https://journal.practicelink.com/vital-stats/physician-compensation-worldwide/ We could easily save a third of the costs there alone.
A dual system like ours allows those who WANT to stay in private health care to do so. Emergency departments at public hospitals have variable waiting times - not the systems fault - simply that sometimes more people turn up at the door sicker than at other times. You wan to avoid that then you use the private option - pay a set rate and be seen virtually straight away with added biscuits and cups of coffee We do have waiting lists for public procedures - but it depends. Urgent procedures like Cardiac stunting the gold standard that Q health wants is less than one hour. That is for anyone in a major population centre. If you are west though sheer distance is a killer on that.
Well yes but the problem is that these silly researchers rank healthcare systems by what system has the best outcomes for the largest number of people. In an oligarchy like the US the only raking that would be acceptable is a ranking of what is the best system for the top tier of the population. And I bet that America blows Australia out of the water on results for the top 10% of the population. So take thst you Aussie socialists.
Are we socialists? YES WE ARE!!! We have always leaned further to the socialist left than America and that is never more evident than the reaction of the average. Aussie to even the thought of a threat to our national health care system. It is known political suicide To that end we are forever grateful to America for being such a shining bad example of an alternative to national health care
It must be fun knowing we only pay $2 box for a box of Captain Crunch cerial while it is $25 bucks in Australia .
What the frack is "Captain Crunch" cereal and what has it to do with our cheaper and more effective health care?
There you have it. Kode saved the US health system. Make the doctors poor. How throughly do you think it's proper for me to debunk this stupid notion?
Let's start simple. We already have a shortage of doctors. By cutting pay, it will simply expand on that issue and push more doctors into a concierge practice where wages for general practitioners are much better.
So instead we subsidize medical school heavily and pay them all salaries, freeing them from having to push for fees for maximum services.... for starters.
So now we are going to take all of those savings and spend them on giving away free medical school. And pay them salaries. And pay their staff? And their for their equipment and facilities? And for malpractice insurance? Damn. This free care is getting expensive.
Right. It's time the rich paid back a little of their take over the last 40 years. And just think: no more health insurance premiums, no more employer and employee medical benefits cost, And healthcare per capita would cost between 20% and 40% less to boot.
We aren't talking about that yet. We are talking about the doctors and what it would cost to make sure we have enough of them. Now, do you have a response to my comment or are you going to concede that cutting doctors pay by 50% just turned out to be a dead end?
Your unilateral "rules" are ridiculous and you aren't the current dictator. It's all a package. And I don't believe I ever said doctors' pay should be cut 50%. You're obviously trying hard to manipulate your words AND mine to manufacture a "win" for yourself. I'm not interested in your game. Buh-bye.
It shows how much more it cost in Australia compared to the USA.. compliments of your hidden taxes to pay for health care...if you watch this video around the 7 minute mark you will see an Average Australian vist a American Walmart for the first time. .
Your link pointed out doctors making $91k. That's 50% of the average for a GP doctor in the US. Where have I claimed to be a director of anything? I'm asking simple questions in response to your comment that we could save 1/3 of care costs by cutting doctors pay. What words of yours am I manipulating?
Not for you to decide (thank God) and it was just an example of the difference in prices between Australia and America. .
And what is the price of a jar of Vegemite in America?? WE do not eat Captain ***** so of course it would cost more here. We also get paid more so prices are proportionately somewhat higher - especially if the Aussie dollar is lower than the Yankee Dollar
