Is there anything liberals like about America?

Irony. Thread content proves OP's premise, there's nothing the LW likes about the U.S. other than the luxurious prosperity it provides to constantly gripe and whine. I don't see many of our leftist posters stating anything they actually like about the country. Here I'll help our lefties make a list of things they should LOVE about the U.S. that most average citizens love.

1. Our capitalist private sector... advanced capital markets and their liquidity, financial and technological innovation. These things provide the cheap miracles you can use to spew your titty baby whining all across the world for all to see in social media and places like this, the consumer choice and prosperity that allows you to live more cheaply than anytime in the past, to live longer so that you can whine, gripe and cry about how special and oppressed you and "your identity group" are for 80 some odd years instead of 70. I'm sure all our lefties will join me in saluting our sophisticated private sector, capital markets and supremacy in the field of finance that gives us all, as a matter of irrefutable fact, so much more than people elsewhere have.

As an aside and partial preemption here, there is only one true legitimate whine in the U.S., it is coming through now loud and clear over the net and in our social media, and that is the whine of the 30% of taxpayers who pay 97% of federal income taxes, who toil for 30-50% of their working lives to pay the unearned salaries and outrageous pensions, other benefits stolen from them by the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex parasites. Surely all our lefties will join me in condemning ANY government where a small percentage of people pay for the whole thing, and where those payors slave for 30-50% of their working lives to pay for it.

2. You should LOVE the First Amendment that allows you to say whatever you want subject to very weak restraints, you should LOVE this so much that you should JOIN AVERAGE AMERICANS in outright CONDEMNATION of ANYONE who seeks to abridge others' speech rights unlawfully, ESPECIALLY if they wear masks and hoods while doing so. You should scoff at the liars who claim that whatever political speech they don't like is "hate speech" and so should be abridged. If you DON'T join in condemning those who seek to shout down, shut down, tear down and generally obstruct ANYONE'S lawful speech rights, then you are the worst sort of hypocrite.

3. You should LOVE the secure feeling that our military might affords you, even despite the fact that our military is way too expensive and graft riddled just like all aspects of the Complex. People in MANY other countries the world over don't enjoy the literal impossibility of invasion that we enjoy and take for granted, so I'm sure all our forum lefties will join me in saluting our powerful military that provides you security that perhaps 80% of the world's population does not enjoy.

4. You should LOVE the rule of law, as opposed to the rule of religions and governments/kings. You should LOVE the immense progress the notion has made in the historical seconds in which it has existed. You should LOVE how inclusive our law is generally right now, not 100 or 200 years ago, RIGHT NOW, because that's all that really matters in your life. Ancient history certainly doesn't. You should join me in condemning ANY caliphate, other theistic governments or central autocratic totalitarian states in which the rule of law is less pronounced.

5. You should LOVE our free electoral processes, including the electoral college, which create results that are fair to all voters. You should shout out with LOVE of the peaceful way power is transferred in this country and the stability and prosperity that results due to that, and realize how RARE such frequent, peaceful transitions of power are. Thus, you should also join me in CONDEMNING those of ANY political stripe who seek to UNDERMINE the peace with which our power is transferred via violence and over the top "resistance" and hatred as opposed to simply SPEAKING one's mind.

That's enough for now. I look forward to lots of our forum lefties taking the opportunity to state how much they join me in LOVING these things about our great country.

Is it like twilight zone to you, that despite middle class priorities they voted against him and his party's and put a guy who actually takes actions on these problems. Many of them voted for Obama, I never did. But there were a lot of gullible people.

As an independent that leans left of center I like many things about America such as it is a beautiful country populated by many wonderful people. I love the level of personal freedom that I have. I love the diversity of the Nation. I am proud of our positive achievements over the last 200+ years.

So we shouldn't recognize that in an interview Obama basically told illegals to vote, that there will no repercussions. I'm glad we committee looking into voting fraud, its a win win for republicans.
