"Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?"

Since many Americans seem to feel uncomfortable when it comes to letting people who cannot afford to contribute to what is, by far, the most expensive health care system on earth suffer and die, minimizing the cost by maximizing the risk pool and assisting with the cost when assistance is needed is, obviously, preferable to merely dumping the medical expenses for tens of millions on the taxpayer.

Our legislators and senators take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, and against all enemies, foreign and domestic. They do not (NOT) take the "Hippocratic" oath, unless they already did so as physicians in their own private lives.

But the point is at least somewhat valid... if physicians, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, etc., want to donate or give away medical services or products "out of the goodness of their hearts", they have the right to do that. But the taxpayers of the United States should be under NO obligation whatsoever to dish out the hundreds of millions of dollars that will be needed to provide all that to people who did not bother to provide for their own needs.

-- Remember -- I did say that those who are legitimately disabled, legitimately afflicted with horrible diseases or injuries, and those with birth defects SHOULD be provided with everything they need, even cradle-to-grave welfare -- for so long as it is provable that they are in a condition that qualifies for such welfare handouts. Everybody else needs to provide for their own needs, and to pay for all of it themselves!

    This is freakin' hilarious.

Back when FullRetardCare passed I predicted that after it fell flat on its face the Babeuvian Illiterati would start bleating that even more government involvement in our HC system was the solution to the problems that more government involvement in our HC system created in the first place.

It's the very definition of insanity, and here we are!

After lying their asses off and failing to accomplish what they pledged to accomplish (lowering costs, expanding choice, etc., etc.), now these imbeciles want us to trust them with our entire HC system.

I'll tell ya - Gruber's Goobers really do think everybody is as stupid and clueless as they are...

You are treated in a timely manner iaw with the necessity of your illness. You are doubling down on the nutty far right false condemnations of NHS.

IMMENSA: yes or no -- do Brits live longer, healthier lives at less cost than Americans?

That would mean that those who are not legitimately disabled, afflicted with horrible diseases or injuries and birth defects, would be turned away from treatment, if they don't have health insurance and if they can't pay out of pocket. As a society, do we have the stomach for that? I don't think so. We would be the ONLY developed country doing such a thing.

Translation: You'll be treated in 18+ months when the government, not you and/or your doctor, deem it necessary.

Awesome. Who wants to control their own healthcare?

Since when is the International Committee of the Fourth International the "nutty far right"?

You do realize that Commies LOVE state-run healthcare systems where you get treated when the government, not yourself, deems it a necessity?

So who should fix the problems with our entire HC system, and what specifically is that fix?

Talon above clearly reveals he has no idea how NHS or actually any national health care program works.

He also is trying to dodge (so I will bring it up. every. single. time) that Brits live longer, healthier lives at a lower cost.

I noticed not a single conservative, ESPECIALLY Immensa, answer your question.

Immensa needs to get out of his/her bunker and look at the real world.

If you cannot handle the reality that the US has, by far, the most expensive health care system on earth, and yet fails to cover tens of millions of Americans, and that the empirical data concerning longevity and infant mortality are superior in many less-exorbitant systems, then your ideological dogma does not permit you to accept the reality.

The ACA has given hope to many many people that they can live a productive life.

I've met many who for the first time have good health care.

The rest of the industrialized nations......

Most of whom are not as wealthy as the USA cannot understand why the USA cannot provide for it's citizens.

ObamaCare is the greatest political lie ever told in American politics. Its purpose is 1.) to shift the tax burden for indigent care from the wealthy (via property taxes) to the working class and 2.) to give excuse to deny millions of poor people medical care by requiring copay of thousands to tens of thousands of dollars in advance before any treatment, which no poor person has.

Why do you want millions of poor people denied medical care for lack of copay? This did not exist prior to ObamaCare. Why do you want working people to pay for medical care of others rather than mostly the wealthy thru property taxes?

The ACA is NOT national healthcare no healthcare for the poor, nor like anything any other country has.

The reality is that generally people with ObamaCare are paying MORE thru copay than we pay by cash paying in full.

"Why do you want millions of poor people denied medical care for lack of copay? This did not exist prior to ObamaCare."

ACA has cut that problem by almost 15 million.

That means the second sentence of the quote above is a flat falsehood.
